smoke from exhaust

is smoke coming out of the exhaust occasionally something i need to worry about?

Not really, if its white smoke it means head gasket is closer to blown off soon and you must have had the over heating to the top in the past

If black smoke coming out, it means your jeep running rich fuel due to lack of air from choked filter or vaccum leak or engine oil getting burnt due to piston ring leaking.
