Did i Damage my 2007 Jeep Wrangler?

As my ID says it i love testing my 2007 Wrangler and when on my trip to oman i took my car in a deep water river kind of thing and when i came out of the water pool and braked the car just stopped so i tried to start the car again will started only after an hour.

I did drive back but i was worried all the way did i do something to damage my car in any way???

The reason for jeep to shut off could be the water going into the engine and it may have damaged the engine in some way

My advise is to get complete engine check and get the break pads changed after driving long distance.
