BmwDubai
BMW’s flagship, the 7 Series, is a luxury car that has been in production in various generations since 1977. The current model is the fifth generation and was launched in 2009. It competes with the likes of Mercedes-Benz’s S-Class, Audi’s A8 and Jaguar’s XJ for the upmarket car buyer’s attention. The 7 Series offers plenty of everything one would expect from an automobile in this segment, including performance, comfort, reliability and prestige. For the 2010 model year the range has been expanded with the addition of the extra-long-wheelbase 760Li featuring a 536bhp, 6.0-litre V12 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. xDrive all-wheel drive technology has been made available on the 750 which is powered by a 402bhp, 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine. The first-class interior of the 7 Series is a very comfortable place to be and is known to cocoon passengers in its plush setting. There is generous legroom for front and back seat occupants, even more so in the long wheel base versions (Li). 16-way power-adjustable front seats, which are heated and ventilated, can be ordered with an optional massage function. Back seat occupants have it good too as they get reclining seats, footrests, armrests, two 7-inch screens with headphones, climate control and their own iDrive controller with which they can control an array of comfort features. The 7 Series is also loaded with performance and safety equipment including BMW’s new Integral Active Steering, which now comes with speed-sensitive rear-wheel steering as standard on the 760 and optional on the 750. Some of the other features include steering-linked headlights, blind-spot alert, lane departure warning, head-up display, side and rear view cameras and a night-vision system.
