jufaa
i had taken my q7 for a very long drive and it started overheating which is very not like this car as it not very old and i have taken this car earlier without any hiccups the thermostat is in between but when i opened the boot to check the coolant there was smoke coming out and the coolant was less then half where as i had refilled it before i started what is it that should be of a concern please advice thanks
fransisaudi
If thermostat or temp gauge is in fine range, u dont need to bother much. About coolant, check the real level when car is cold and then again when its hot. It might have possible that coolant got drained out from bottle drain as it was over filled and when u open the hood it was half bottle. For safety reason, get your water temperature sending sensor checked or change so that you are rest assure that you are seeing real temp on ur gauge. Reason for smoke MIGHT be when car was hot and due to overfilling coolant it got drained out and dropped on hot area in engine bay resulting the smoke or vapours after all its water based.
