2010 Peugeot 308 review

Recommended Posts

The 308 is primarily a family hatchback that sits above the 207 in terms of size, but it’s also available as a station wagon and as a coupe-cabriolet.

The hatchback arrived here in 2007 and is available in several trim levels. The Confort model is powered by a 1.6-litre engine with 120bhp, attached to a four-speed automatic gearbox. It includes tinted windows, 15-inch steel wheels and electric windows front and back.

Opt for Premium trim and you’ll also get 16-inch alloys, front fog lights and a stereo system with an auxiliary input socket for MP3 players.

The 308 Premium Pack is available in both five-door and three-door versions and is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine, giving it an extra 20bhp. Features include dual zone air conditioning, cooled glovebox and front, side and curtain airbags. Safety features in this model also include ABS, electronic brakeforce distribution and ESP. Rear parking sensors are also fitted.

The top-of-the-range Feline edition is also available in three or five-door guises, and can also be ordered with a 175bhp version of the turbocharged engine, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Luxuries include leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, satellite navigation with hard disc music system and 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels.

The 308 SW station wagon can be ordered in four trim levels – Break, Confort Pack, Premium Pack and Feline, which reflect the trims in the hatchback. But with a larger boot. Power comes from the 1.6-litre engine in either 120bhp or 140bhp tune, depending on model.

New for 2010 is the 308 CC, a folding hardtop coupe with the same 140bhp engine. Two trim levels are available – Sport Pack and Feline. Details were unavailable as we went to press, but expect them to again mirror the other 308s.
