  1. It was a unique experience to drive in this terrain. I did not know what to expect - it was all new for me and was I not in for a surprise! I wouldn't exaggerate when I tend to describe my feelings but the terrain was super soft… often as soft as talcum powder. I found myself going ahead on top of a dune just to face a refusal. It was a nice challenge to navigate those dunes, and 2 of 3 refusals that I faced were that needed a bit of shovelling and of the last one a small tug. Scenic seemingly a codeword for full of bushes on the entire track, I did love the challenge!!! To back it up I had a fantastic convoy to boot. @Gertjan you were fantastic as second lead. knowing that it was my lead without a marshal behind me to auto correct any mistakes - you took care of the convoy with ease - also thanks for all the shovelling you did through out the drive. @Nadeem Ansari you drove quite well for the beast and had a smooth drive you performed quite well with your beast. @Mohit Gurnani you have driven with me few times till today while I was doing partial leads and I see you improving in every drive. You handled the terrain better than I can ever imagine. @Zubair first time driving with you, and man I couldn't even say you had any issues what so ever, excellent drive for you. @Senthil Kumar I knew I can trust on you for the Center Forward and you did what you had to do. @Glenn W you drive an unique car and I am glad to have you with me. It was nice to drive with you back to back from last week and hope to see you more. @Andrei S it was a smooth drive for you and glad to have you in the convoy. @Jaro Tuzinsky Thank you very much for the sweep and making sure we all move as an unit. I am grateful to @Davie Chase for selecting this location and doing all the legwork related to planning the track as well as convoy order. I just had to show and start driving. I had a fabulous convoy to lead and @GauravSoni at the far end a surprise addition was cherry on the cake. As per @Davie Chase's prediction we reached the first stop at the Watch Tower at about 8 am and from there moved towards the exit. It was hot by 9 am and touching 42 degrees C - it was hot as hell. Climate change fellas!! its El Niño time. We exited right about this time i.e. 9 am - a short duration to drive by any standards but still enjoyable and did everything what was needed to be done in this drive. some stats for the nerds!

Secondly a big congratulations on your first independent lead and I look forward to more adventures tomorrow my friend. A big thank you to @GauravSoni for attending and supporting the second convoy as always, a pleasure to have you along for the ride. Our drive today (Convoy 1) had a little bit of everything, from Vegetation to Virgin sand, soft sand, hard sand, Camels, donkeys and Cows, a couple of refusals that were brilliantly self-recovered, as well as a couple of Stucks and of course a pop out. A big thank you to my second lead @Ishak you did an amazing job holding where necessary and then following instruction to move the convoy out of harms way left or right, and even re-routing at one point. Well done and appreciated the support. Thanks to @DP1011 as always a pleasure to have you along in support buddy. you were just simply amazing, you handle the refusals with calm tone and a knowledgeable approach that allowed most to be self-recovered. well done! @Felix Obst great job at sweep my friend you kept me well informed and more importantly kept the convoy together at the back. Also assisting with the recoveries, great job on the tug for @Ishak it was perfect. @Felix Obst @Frans M @Joseph Sebastian @Ishak @Marketa Dobesova @DP1011 @Stan without exception drove fantastically. you guys are amazing, I enjoyed the banter on the subkha, the teamwork with the shovels, and the patience as we worked through the last stuck and pop off. I hope you all enjoyed the drive today as much as I did. Thank you all. Have a great rest of your weekend Some stats for you from our drive for convoy 1

  10. Trip Report It is always a pleasure to meet old friends as well as new ones. Thank you for all who came and added to the passion of yesterday's drive which was like of a cross country more than of a dedicated drive to a particular area . Qudra : ahead of time we all were lined up and ready. after I and my copilot Abdallah greeted every one. checked and breifed our friends before starting to move exactly at 15:30 . it was a good warm up till the cresent lake after which we 'space jumped' to the next one. Little Sweihan : it was hot and the sand was over cooked and nevertheless we took the challeange and we pushed our vehicles to the next level which was almost like F+ and to my surprise every one passed it through ( the Fb first half of the convoy ) except myself when i got trapped in a very tight V shaped bowl . immediately instructed my second lead not to follow who acted accordingly very safely. maybe this was the only true stuck for the whole trip which needed a redirecting long rope pul in a winch like manner which was done smoothly in no time by @DP1011 . after that one more dune and we were on the eastern sabkha to move to the third part or the journey. Faqa : driving now bit faster in almost straight to oblique fashion criss crossing medium/large sized dunes till we reached the flat area that lead us to the automatic gate at E14. that was fun indeed. we took our proper break there chating and drinking nice coffe offered by @Pavel Pashkovskiy thank you dear.so kind and generous. meanwhile our freind @Marketa Dobesova almost finshed inflating as she had to leave due to a pre informed commitment to attend. Nahel : almost less than an hour left and we decided to wrap it at max fun so it was . we had the opportunity to loop , criss cross and climb and surfe along tall dunes in the northen and northen west part of Nahel area.no issues at all even the radio was almost silent... tick tack tick tack .. my convoy was more than punctual on arrival so am i on ending it exactly on time so along the track looping around the grid we palyed we were back at the gate exactly at 7:15 pm High Lights : Always the journey what matters and not the final destination. A journey that i enjoyed it to maximum and i hope you all did. punctuality is highly respected and i have seen it in this drive very obvious which reflects how much you have respect to one another and to this passionate hobby.truly appreciated! Clear communication is the key to the fluidity/safety of any drive and prevention of any misshapns God forbid. Adherence to the convoy discipline always is highly appreciated especially from the more experianced drivers which set the best example to the less one . last but not least learning never ends and continue to realise how much still we dont know which makes us more humble, attentive and considerate and yesterday i promise i have learnt from each one of you including my son somthing to add to my library of precious collection. @Benjamin i am always impressed of your passion and how safe you take it. thank you for being the perfect second lead . @Pavel Pashkovskiy truly pleasure to meet you first time. i wondered realy if it was your first fewbie at all. you drove your long sand runner like a walk in the park. thanks again for the tasty coffee. @Marketa Dobesova Thank you for joining us at last minute even if it was till E14 . you drove excaptionally well . very well done. @Hugo joining the pack of wranglers disguised in FJC never understimate the vehicle nore the driver behind the wheel. excellent driving hope you enjoyed it yesterday. @Sunil Mathew @Gerrit Bus and @Anoop Nair i am sure you were palying it nicly at the back , always pleasure driving with you guys. @Amr Aydin it has been long time my friend. happy to see you again.. Thank you for watching our back and the crystal clear communication as always trusted you as one of the few best drivers in carnity. last but not least i extend my thanks to @DP1011 for the briliant support, gentle handling of my stuck and the valuable feedbacks and keeping me informed always. oh Abdallah says thank you uncle Deepak for chocolate 😋 take care all till we meet again in another adventure cheers Seidam

  16. Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for the warm wishes of congratulations and support on my promotion to trip lead. It is very humbling to get so many, but this just goes to show the strength of the community of this great club. This is the start of a new journey for me. That I cannot wait to get my teeth into and continue learning and sharing my experiences with others. The journey and learnings to this point with Carnity have been amazing. The fantastic support and encouragement from all of the trip leads and the support team members (all too many to mention) is second to none and has definitely made this a most pleasant journey. Couple that with meeting so many like minded, fun, enthusiastic and genuinely nice people we call members makes it all the more special. My first independent lead is just on the horizon and I am as enthused and excited as I was when I joined my first master class with @Frederic here’s hoping it goes as well as that did 🤞😀 Thank you all again for the messages of support, and hope to see you all in the sand again very soon.

  17. Pretty sure I heard they were going make three parts to finale of this movie. nothing like having Vin Diesel's cars run on the hopes and dreams of Family 😄 apart from that I think my favorite movie in the series has got to be either Tokyo drift or 2 Fast 2 Furious perfect depiction of the gearbox in these cars
