  1. Yes absolutely. I don’t see us retiring from off-roading soon, but that’s why perhaps we can in the future transition the club into offering a plethora of activities. From hiking to cycling / mountain biking, wadi walking, fishing, and anything in between We just need a few people to take the lead. We have a club, we have members, and we have a platform. With such a fantastic community we can pull off many adventures.

  3. Would there be interest for a monthly hike through the dunes, and occasionally even in the wadis coming winter? 3-4hrs, basic physical condition. We leave the 4x4 on the nearest parking and do a 3-4hr hike through the dunes. Afterwards a coffee or sitdown at the car or petrol station. Areas: - Qudra lakes and Last exit area - Faqa arboretum - Al Ajban - Fayah (AD) - Wadis and mountains From a sustainability perspective, we can assume that a convoy of 10 vehicles with petrol engines would consume around 400kg of CO2 on a typical morning drive (50km offroad). Being able to go out on a hike and still enjoy the dunes would improve overall health and save those 400kg CO2 as well CO2 emissions calculator: Calculate your carbon emissions | myclimate

  5. Hi Everyone - QQ please... The Essential Off-Road Gear post says that a rope and shackles is for Intermediate and above, but it is listed as mandatory here. Is this needed for a Newbie drive? Thanks! https://carnity.com/advice/offroad/essential-off-road-gear-r131 PS - Double booked this Saturday, but intend to attend from the next one onwards!

  8. Once again I don’t even know where to start. DCT 2024 brought a different challenge that to 2023 every waypoint felt like it had a different story for our organizers which alone made the event legendary. Massive Thank you to @Gaurav, @Frederic, @Srikumar, @Sohini, @Ale Vallecchi, @J-P L, @Simon D, @Rob S for making this event possible, to think you guys managed to plan waypoints, strategize, cater food, support challengers, set up receivers… and well the list goes on, really makes me think you guys are the real desert champions here. Event management of this scale is no easy feat and yet you guys managed it all with such expertise, even down to theme music for each team lead which all in all was great craic (means a good or great time) so seriously amazing work I think I speak for my whole team that we are ready for next year to defend the title 💪💪 To the other fantastic team leads @Looper@Albertorres@Asif Hussain@JeromeFJ@Zed@GauravSoni I’ve driven with most of all of you during my years in @Carnity fantastic work lads, you kept everyone on their feet and truly gave us a competition to remember. In our initial start of the race we ran into almost all of you hitting waypoints which was amazing to see each team coordinate in different innovative ways. We are all desert champions taking our daily drivers so far from home to tackle such challenging terrain. I’m looking forward to competing with everyone here again into 2025. Well Team Desert Flyers. So much to say yet I have no idea how to put it down on paper. @Davie Chase (Smooth Operator) fantastic Team Leader all together to helping outside of the club with any car issues, setting up tshirts, and flyers for our cars; but most importantly giving everyone in the team a voice. Our banter never seems to end which is impressive on its own. Maybe in a way it helps fuel the compassion to offroad with precision and skill, the terrain you had to lead us through blindly was truly remarkable I’m really looking forward to learning how to manage and lead drives with you when I take the massive step forward to marshal. Fantastic work mate @Mark B Gladis is a true jeep adaptation of a Mad Max rig and the factor you could make it wave across the dunes with little to no struggle while also being the first one out of the car whenever there was a refusal is crazy mate well done, always a pleasure to drive with you and carry banter in the perfect moments I look forward to supporting more drives together. @ChrisW (techy guy) well Mark is right your a legend mate, joined the team as a Fewbie yet held all the attributes of an intermediate absolutely crazy, not only are you a team player but a amazing driver, definitely consider joining Team Carnity sometime. You went above and beyond in making sure team planning went smoothly. And I can’t forget the brilliant jokes during the race which truly calmed the atmosphere of the race. Keep it up lad 💪 @Gary F well we truly brought the banter home I can’t even talk because I got crested too 😂 (it must run in the family) amazing driving especially considering the circumstances of being stuck in conferences all over the globe, soon we will be a father son duo planning, leading and supporting drives 💪 fantastic event again cheers to everyone that made it happen 🍻 Let’s bring it home again team! regards, Ben (junior)

  9. Was a fantastic event, @Davie Chase was an amazing lead, drove the strategy with last years experience and we were happy to follow you mate absolutely. The team was amazing @Gary F @Benjamin and @ChrisW all you guys were amazing, couldn’t have asked for a better team and Carnity through and through, all support except Chris! But he’s a legend so will I’m sure join the support team soon and will be an asset to the club. all the other teams did fantastic too, and it was very close! Interesting to see the other routes and hear everyone’s stores and tactics, but the camaraderie was the big take away for me, really felt the love in the teams 😊 The event set up and support guys were amazing, don’t know what you guys did all day waiting for us to all rumble back but your efforts were truly appreciated. And @Gaurav what a great event thank you and the club for running something like this and for Carnity in general for being a great club and a top notch organisation. Until next year we fly the flag and hopefully we’re be back to defend it!

  10. Well what can we say, what an adventure, adrenalin rush, team building, banter filled, community spirit, fun filled, well organized event. Organizing this magnitude of event in the middle of nowhere and miles from home is no mean feat. Bot sure how the team managed to get the tents, sound systems & tables all set up, organized the food & water and got it all to location as well as having the radio comms, repeaters, lights etc all in place and then having the team of people who helped out taking odometer readings and checking all the safety critical features such as ensuring everything was tied down securely, THANK YOU just does not seem enough. So a huge big Thank you to @Gaurav for pulling it all together, @Frederic, @Srikumar, @Sohini, @Ale Vallecchi @J-P L @Simon D and @Rob S for assisting with way point planning and scouting, giving up your days and evenings, for a remarkably well organized and safe event, for feeding us and watering us when we returned back exhausted, battered and bruised, and for placing the way points in some really interesting places, making this not only challenging from a driving standpoint but also from a hiking standpoint. and lastly for an amazing day out in true @carnity spirit Not sure how you managed to pull this event off as perfectly as you did, but you did it, well done and thank you once again to you all! To my fellow team leads @Looper@Albertorres@Asif Hussain@JeromeFJ@Zed@GauravSoni Well done to you all for making this another exciting Challenge and stiff competition, As has already been said, but has to be said again, we are all Champions of the desert in our own right. you guys are what truly makes Carnity a car community for off road Adrein junkies and an extraordinarily fantastic club to be part of. You and your teams all battled the elements with gusto and determination and anyone of us could have brought the trophy home. Well done to you all and look forward to doing battle again next year :):) A special Thank you to my Team @Mark B, @ChrisW, @Gary F and @Benjamin, firstly for putting up with me as your team lead that in itself would have been worthy of a medal, but not only that, for the support and trust that you put in me to allow you to blindly follow me into the abis and beyond with faith that we would be safe and come out the other side with smiles and for the most part in tact. You guys gave up your time to meet and strategize, to practice, and to build that true team spirit that shone through on the day, you all did fantastically well and really drove the wheels off your cars to get us home with an amazing haul of points to take the win by the narrowest of margins. The banter and the comradery displayed all the way was just brilliant. Thank you one and all for making the day so special. The Trophy is home where it belongs back at Carnity for the next 12 months, lets make sure it stays at home no matter who lifts it above their head.
