Thanks @Ale Vallecchi and @davie c smooth operator for the fantastic drive. Also thanks very much @Mehmet Volga for another great support and all the other 2nd Lead/CF/SW of both convoys. I really enjoyed the very well paced drive and all the different terrains and dunes we have climbed. Unfortunately my Pajero buddy @rroker had a roll. As a recent offroad driver, everyone tells me that can happen to anyone, anytime, but is always a stressfull situation. Thankfully he didn't got injuried and that is all that matter. But as always, those moments are also very insightful learning moments, at least it was for me: - First I really appreciate the leadership and professionalism of both marshals dealing with the situation. @davie c smooth operator and @Ale Vallecchi dealt with the it with calm and diligence, calming everyone down, making sure the driver was fine, and then guiding everyone in different tasks to make sure the car was out of there in a safe way. In the meantime always explaining the next steps and teaching us how things are done properly. Great learning moment. - Secondly it was an eye-opening situation for me. Everyone says it can happen, but we never expect it. Having seen it made me realize that next time can be me, and that although offroading is a lot of fun, one should never forget about possible dangers and be cautious. - Lastly, this was the live confirmation of the consequences of fighting gravity. Sometimes we push a little bit hard but this situation remind me the importance of knowing when to get out and turn down and a similar situation. @rroker hope to see you very soon in another drive. Although this situation was of big importance, we should not resume the driving to that. It was an amazing drive, a lot of fun and with a lot of different experiences. Thank you all again for this day. I really enjoyed it! See you next time

Dear desert Wanders, @Giacomo, @rroker, @W a q a r, @ChrisW, @Jose Luis Campos, @essam ibrahim, @Arvindraj, @Zubair @Shiju Raju, @Gary F, @Mark B, @Andrei S, @Gautam Banka, @Michael asir, @Martin Schwaiger, @khlief, @Ale Vallecchi and @Mehmet Volga Thank you all for showing up on time yesterday at a very crowded start point and for the patience as we waited for the fog to lift and to get the convoys sorted out into an order that allowed us to start the drive. You guys all drive extremely well from start to finish, we only had one real stuck and only a handful of refusals, great job by all. @Ale Vallecchi thank you so much for coming in and taking the second convoy allowing us to open up to more of the club members on a busy drive weekend, agree with your synopsis of post incident review, very unfortunate indeed and hope that @rroker you are ok and have been checked out, that is the most important thing and the car will be replaced as it can be where as you cannot. These types of incidents as we have said are very unfortunate, and this is why we emphasize what we do during the briefings, also this really brings home the importance of tying everything securely with cargo straps to ensure nothing is moving around the cabin if this does happen. I as Ale was very impressed with how you handle the post incident events, given that this is never easy and emotions are fueled by adrenalin, please keep us up to date with how things are, and feel free to reach out to me of any of the Carnity team if you need any assistance at all. @Mehmet Volga thank you for coming in and supporting the drive this allows allowed us to split the convoy, really appreciated and great to see you out in the sand again. I would personally like to thank the whole convoy for their patience and assistance during the recovery of the vehicle. Amazing comradery and team spirit. To all those who drove with me in convoy one @ChrisW, @essam ibrahim, @Gary F, @Mark B, @Michael asir, @khlief, @Gautam Banka, and @Martin Schwaiger you guys drove amazingly well given the mix of terrain, debris, bushes, and traffic so hats off to you all. A big shout out to my S/L @ChrisW, amazing job mate, distance was good and reactions to smooth out the lines was second to none, thanks and well done. And a big thank you to my support team In CF we had @Gary F as always calm and professional in the support role throughout the drive, giving guidance where needed and excellent mastery of assistance during recoveries. Finally in the sweep we had @Mark B great job keeping me informed of other traffic and issues within the convoy as well as your demeaner during the few recoveries we had to deal with is reassuring for any lead. Great job from both of you and always gives me peace of mind having you in my convoy. Pictures from Convoy 1 have been posted in the gallery. Have a great rest of your weekend.

Thank you @davie c smooth operator for opening up the convoy and letting me lead its second half. We did have a great time, even while staying away from an extremely crowded, and terribly littered, Pink Rock, concentrating on reaching Big Red, through the very nice sand bowls along the way. Also thanks for extending the drive to Badayer's side and its big dunes. All my drivers - @Giacomo, @rroker, @W a q a r, @Jose Luis Campos, @Arvindraj, @Zubair @Shiju Raju, @Andrei S - did great, with a special thanks to @Mehmet Volga who helped greatly with his support and guidance from the Center's position. I hope that @rroker is feeling OK after the unfortunate roll which happened almost at the end of the drive. Please let us know if you sorted out the car's assistance and recovery, and if you have made sure you are 100% in good health (as Davie suggested, I would also advise you go see a doctor, and monitor how you are feeling at least throughout the weekend). You have taken the incident with an admirable amount of philosophy: be sure that these things can happen, at any time, to anybody, so I hope to see you back in action soon. For all drivers asking how the roll happened, it was just an unfortunate case of fighting gravity, by counter steering toward the ridge while being too low on the approach. Surely the mistake was compounded by the heavy tracks that scarred the whole face of the dune (the car may not have flipped if it had not bounced on the deep tracks). Hey guys, ran into this thread when i was doing post fitting research, lol (should have done way earlier). And I can confirm that prado with facelift can fit 265/70/r17 tyres with no lift, I just did it with my 2022 prado. The first one i tried was 275/70/r17, but it rubs the front wheel plastic guards, front and back. My tyre guy said it should also work if we remove the guards, but i was not keen, so ended up with 265/70/r17. There are still room between wheel and guard when tyre is fully rotated. FYI, I fitted ROH assualt r17 70 rims, and falken wildpeak 265/70/r17 AT tyres. The spare tyre cover has to be removed, maybe 265/65/r17 has a better chance.

@Fredericthis is absolutely one of my favourite spots - around the whole area really - and during the times with the Milky Way core is above the horizon there are great opportunities here. Can we keep it in mind as a possibility for another shot before the end of the season?
