The drive was pretty technical, with soft sand. It was my first time experienced the car get stuck due to a Truck tire that had been there in desert for few months. While I’ve seen cars towed before, this was the first time I saw a truck tire being towed from beneath a jeep. Huge thanks to @ChrisW Gadgets. for the assistance! @Emanuel was guiding the convoy with such confidence, keeping everyone on track. at end, though, everything went smoothly, and we exited right on time. It was a fun and unforgettable experience!

Thanks again, @Looper - that was a challenging drive led with calm focus. Your briefing mentioned a technical drive on high dunes and that’s exactly what this delivered. For me this was a good opportunity to practice technical skills on trickier terrain, recovering myself using my own winch, and a fluke opportunity to use the car-lift airbag! A good morning out. Thank you as well to @Rajiv Sam for being easy to follow, @Emanuel for the recovery support (…I’m also sure I kept mixing your name up…apologies!), and @Anoop Nair for keeping us together.

Iftar / Easy Drive This Friday marks the middle of the month of Ramadan, and we will have the sun set at 6:27 pm and the full moon rising shortly after at 6:39 pm. We propose to get to get together by the end of the afternoon in the Lisaili area, go into the desert with a short easy drive (30 min max), mainly on tracks to find a nice spot, watch sunset, take our time for Iftar (approx 1h 30m) and watch the full moon rise, and then continue with an easy drive (approx 30m) with the light of the full moon to exit in the small village of Murquab The drive is open to Newbies with minimum 1 drive and all the above levels. Families are welcomed, children also, as long as they have proper seat and seat belts for their age. We request every member who joins this drive to go through the information below and strictly follow these guidelines, etiquette, and responsibilities. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive. LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE: This drive is limited to 15 cars only. RSVP will close on Friday - 12 PM. 🤣🤣 apologies @DP1011 for the confusion, if i moved from waitlist to rsvp, my preference is to join your drive due to traveling distance. However, if didnt happen then definitely I'm attending with @Frederic in the morning drive.. Hope this clarifies and is ok with both of you 😊 Not intending to be in 2 different places same time

Wind noise is normal unfortunately...at 120 km/h, my music becomes inaudible. At 140 km/h, conversations with passengers are very hard. And at 160 km/h? I can’t even hear my own thoughts. 😆 Adding to Fred's list, I would do a compression test as well. This is the definitive test to verify the engine is in tip top condition.

Hi all, As an update, I have bought the Xterra (2010, Off road). Seems fine so far, although a lot of wind noise and a bit of a creak here and there. Engine is quite punchy and relatively smooth for it's age. Going for my first desert drive with the club tomorrow, so hoping it holds well. Are there any good off road garages, preferably that specialise in Xterras, that you can recommend?
