Together we can do so much" - Helen Keller From seeing everyone trickling in from the big entry point in Faqa, to the views of the massive convoy stretched out across 2300m of desert, and eventually all coming together near the Crescent Moon Lake and being able to form this human circle was an experience i will never forget. We take a lot of things for granted, but pulling this off without even breaking a sweat tells a lot about what Carnity has created, where people can drive together, but most of all where we are all part of one big desert family. However all of us are deeply affected by what has happened, i hoped to see smiles today and people bonding, and that's exactly what happened. This is what our Gaurav would have wanted and this is how we will move forward with the club. A massive thanks to the friends who left Carnity sometime back but showed their respects by coming today and joining the circle. Events like this puts everything in perspective, and all of you have contributed so much to the club over the years. Thank you for being there! We would have never been able to do this without the entire Team Carnity group's support that was spread out across the convoy. Thank you all so much!! From this point on we will organize a yearly tribute drive. To honor Gaurav and to keep him in our thoughts. He will be our beacon for all things to come. See you all very soon in the sand again!❤️

Dear Carnity Family, From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank each and every one of you for being in this drive, in spirit and in person. Your presence, your kindness, and your support has meant more than words can truly express. Carnity was not just a community to Gaurav it was his life’s work, his passion, and his dream. He envisioned a space where people didn’t just come together for the love of sand and cars, but for something much deeper, the love and care for one another. A place where friendships were built, where empathy and enthusiasm thrived, and where joy was shared freely. Makhoola delivered a proper Fewbie Plus playground Saturday morning — long flowing dunes, rhythm sections, and just enough technical spice to keep everyone sharp. The convoy held a strong pace throughout, covering nearly 60 km with minimal interruptions — a great sign of growing confidence and clean driving across the group. A few soft crest challenges from yours truely and side slope moments kept things interesting, but recoveries were quick, controlled, and well managed by the support team. Big thanks to @ChrisW for winching me out and @Sam Selim talking me off a side crest. @Aserand ChrisW dealt with one steep climb refusal quickly and got us moving fast. We had two technical issues towards the end with a transmission overheating after a lot of work in 4L, and a failed MAF sensor. Hopefully all quick fixes. Overall, a smooth, high-energy drive that really showcased progression from the convoy — linking dunes, holding momentum, and driving with intent. Sadly I will be unable to attend as I will be out of the country. I only met Guarav a few times, but what a guy. I bought an uplifted Jeep when I first arrived because I ‘fancied trying off roading’. To say I was clueless is an understatement. Guarav (recognising my complete lack of knowledge): ‘So that’s your compressor to inflate your tyres’ Me: ‘Right. So in case I get a flat. Got it’ Guarav: ‘No. Because we let air out when we off-road as it gives more traction’ Me: ‘What? 😳’ Such a patient and knowledgeable man. Didn’t laugh, mock, or say anything to discourage me. Talked me through the basics and here we are, top driver in Carnity! (I’m so kidding!) What he taught me in that initial, and subsequent drives I hold dear. I often find myself thinking ‘What did Guarav say again’. Solid foundations for the sport delivered perfectly. Whilst not there physically, I shall be thinking of everyone and ‘Big G’ on Sunday. Stay safe everyone and I look forward to the next adventure.

Good morning everyone! Some last pointers for tomorrow's drive: 1. Please be on time. The convoy will leave at 6.30AM exactly. Deflating to 15psi is perfectly fine. 2. Bring your radio, compressor, pressure gauge and deflator. We will use Channel 10: 446.231Mhz 3. Upon our arrival at crescent moon lake we will try to park the cars in a square grid. One of our supporting team members will guide the vehicles once you pass through the white finish poles 4. After forming a human circle and the one-minute silence (radios off please), you can inflate at the same location and make your way to the exit track that leads to Bab Al Shams resort. Many cars will head over there so if you are not sure just follow the other vehicles. 5. There will be a memorial book at the meeting point and also at the exit point. It would be great if everyone makes a small write-up or message. For the family this will be a very appreciated token. See you all tomorrow morning!

Gaurav bhai, missing you bro. Not able to express this void, this sudden departure. What a legacy you leave behind bro! An educator, a mentor. No words to express. Will always miss you.

Great to see your message @Barry. The anecdotes you shared are so much like Gaurav. Many of us in the club and his inner circle have countless stories and i will never forget the experiences i shared with him. He will be surely missed, but i am extremely thankful for what he has taught us and we will definitely continue the legacy.

It’s been a while since I posted on Carnity. I still can’t believe Gaurav is gone. I was just talking to him recently. When I first heard the news I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t. We were the same age and he was taken from us far too soon. When I first came to Dubai more than 10 years ago, Gaurav was one of the first people I made friends with. We bonded over the love of cars and I eventually became involved with Carnity writing articles, how to diagnose and fix your car yourself, how to save money, things like that. When Carnity moved more to the 4x4 side of things, I kinda fell away. I’m more of a track and racing guy. Off roading scares the hell outta me and I have massive respect for what you guys do. I spent many hours in the garage with Gaurav, working on his Ship of Theseus Pajero, rebuilding engines, raising and lowering suspension, fitting coolers for random systems, discussing upgrades, and more importantly, discussing life over a few beers. He was always someone I could ask for an opinion on whatever crazy situation I was planning on getting into next and he would always give me an unbiased opinion. I have so many stories involving Gaurav, some good, some funny, but never bad. I will never forget when he got his new Range Rover and he wanted to show me the radar cruise control and we nearly ran into the back of a Nissan Sunny. Or when he showed me how to fishtail in a Mustang and we ended up facing backwards on Al Khail road. Fun times I will never forget. I will be out of the country this weekend but rest assured, I will be with you all in spirit. I am so happy that you guys will continue with Carnity. This is Gaurav’s legacy.
