This role is about constructively helping, supporting, and advising others with mutual respect as part of our multicultural family. Advisors are encouraged to share ideas, ask questions, and exchange views at any level - always respectfully, professionally, and confidentially for internal use. This is the stage where your biggest transformation begins - from skilled off-roader to capable leader. 📌 Leaders Lead Session At this level, you’ll join the exclusive Leaders Lead sessions - an intensive program with homework and pre-drive preparation. These sessions, conducted by Crew members for a select few Advisors, cover: Advanced Sand Reading & Planning – terrain assessment, level setting, and emergency exits. Navigational Leadership – using software to manage and scale convoy leads. Extreme Convoy Management – leading, recovering, and handling convoys in the toughest UAE deserts. This is exclusive, invaluable training available only to Advisors. 🚙 Path to Expert Level Once you’ve completed the three steps above, you’ll be eligible to start leading under supervision: Minimum 2 partial leads in daytime Fewbie drives (under Expert/Marshal/Crew supervision). Minimum 4 full Fewbie leads planned, posted, and executed (Expert/Marshal/Crew supervision). You may take on additional partial or full leads if you’d like more time to build confidence. Upon successfully completing this journey, you’ll qualify for Expert promotion - a milestone that marks the beginning of your leadership legacy.

Some small pointers for tomorrow: 1. Please try to arrive 10-15mins before the meeting time. This will give you time to deflate, set up your flag, and perhaps sip your cup of coffee 2. You can deflate to 14psi if you have normal HT tires, or to 12psi if you have All Terrain tires 3. We will use Channel 10 on the Walkie Talkie: 446.231Mhz. We will test the radios and also bring a couple of spares in case this would be your first drive and don't have procured a radio yet. The plan is from the starting point to go Eastwards and visit the famous Foxes' Den, a favorite stopover where we might spot some foxes (at least their burrows). From there we will continue further and exit at the ADNOC in Tilal Sweihan. See you all in the morning. If you encounter issues with the Google Maps, link, you can also copy/paste the decimal coordinates in your Google Maps.

    It was an absolute pleasure driving and enjoying amazing sunset views with you all (ladies and gentlemen)! Top class second lead @Sebastian Nohse, you set a great example on this particular role with how confident, experienced and calm you are! @Noufal, @Carl Stanley & @Myrko this drive wouldn't have been as enjoyable without you guys, you gave me the confidence to push more and go higher knowing we have experienced off-roaders. Special thanks to @_Herman_ for looking out for all of us and keeping us together from the start to finish!

    Fitted mine in the Defender's engine bay. A bit hot, and as @ChrisW said, she is a bit fussy, so I have to remember to open the hood when using the compressor a bit longer. And probably more importantly, as I found out last night,: DON'T FORGET TO TAKE MY PHONE FROM THE CONVENIENT PLACE ON TOP OF THE RADIATOR, BEFORE CLOSING THE HOOD!!! I chose to install the little manifold and the Bluetooth controller with it, to make things easier avoid additional switches in the cabin. You can then set programmable pressure options and it regulates it all by itself, though I fail to see the point in reducing pressure via the controller. The compressor's controller is connected via the Garmin Powerswitch for the same convenience: accessible on the phone and carplay! Again, ensure you put the phone back in your pocket after use, see note above... The air outlet I led through the side of the car, opposite of the engine air intake, which has no function with my engine, (for people blessed with a bigger wallet: it does with the Octa). Great for access and the normal ARB hose is long enough to get to all tires from that point. Key takeaways are: make sure you still have sufficient airflow/cooling otherwise it will just stop working in best case until reset, or cease in worst. Ensure you fuse your power supply, for some reason the first fuse blew only after it fried one of the motors in the compressor. Luckily ARB gave me a new one after they did some checking!

    Thanks all for joining today and for being on time. The drive lived up to the reputation of GoTech drives of the past. With many refusals and stucks, all met with teamwork and smiles. Part one was tough with lots of close unstructued dunes and many tight bowls. After around 90 min we stopped for a very necessary break at crescent moon lake. Was good to catch up with everyone and partake of the snack Luke brought along. Part 2 was the highlight for me with clean white sand and once we were through the 1st very tight section it opened up for some lovely ridge runs allowing the drive to flow. At 09h30 we turned towards the track to be treated to a large herd of Oryx, before we headed towards the exit. A special note to @Raptor Runner - Praveen who was on his 1st FB drive, great handling of your truck! The entire convoy drove very well handled the technical terrain very well. Lastly could not have done it without the amazing support from @_luke_, @Vanessa8580, @Looper and @J-P L Till next time

    Everyone arrived early, and after a quick look at the new fencing, we decided to make a dash through and go hunting for the dunes. The opening section had plenty of vegetation to work around, but we still managed to pick out some nice high lines and keep the convoy moving. The further we pushed in, the cleaner the terrain became, and before long the dunes really opened up — flow after flow after flow. With a small convoy, we could move quickly and keep the lines loose. There were some big sidies in the dark, with the V8s roaring across the dunes and plenty of momentum being carried from one section to the next. We eventually finished up at the double bowl, where we pulled some seriously big lines. The sand there was unbelievably soft, and even the V8s were starting to struggle for traction. From there, it was engines off, coffee out, and a bit of stargazing to finish the night. Small convoy. Fast movement. Loose lines. Loved it! @Sebastian Nohse @Giacomo looking forward to seeing any pics or videos you might have captured... see you on the next drive!

    POST DRIVE REPORT Thank you all for being early and ready for the briefing. Starting on time allowed us to get into the desert quickly and make the most of the afternoon. Everyone drove exceptionally well through both main sections of the drive, including the planned technical patches we had to cross to reach our destination dunes. The drive flowed smoothly, with only a few challenges along the way, most of which were resolved with a second attempt and some guidance on self-recovery techniques. Well done to all of you. A special thanks to our sweep, @J-P L, who maintained excellent communication throughout the drive, kept us updated from the back, and provided support whenever needed. We also had the pleasure of enjoying a section of the drive led by JP, featuring some great lines, fun side sloping, ridge riding, and a tour of Ishak’s Bowl. Well done, JP. Thank you as well to @Thomas54675 for as second lead and for helping keep the convoy moving efficiently. Attached is the Gaia GPS track from yesterday's adventure. We covered an impressive 75 km of varied terrain, creating a route with a pretty impressive elevation profile and plenty of memorable moments along the way. Thanks again for making it such an enjoyable drive. Have a great weekend, and see you in the dunes soon! 🌵🚙💨

    Coffee Club: Nahel Nights Starting from Sweihan, we’ll point the convoy east and go hunting for the best terrain we can find on the way toward Nahel. Expect a mix of bowls, long ridgelines, power climbs and high switches, with plenty of opportunities to work the cars through bigger terrain while keeping the drive smooth and flowing. Somewhere along the way, we’ll find ourselves a suitably high dune, park up at the top and take a proper Coffee Club break with a view across the surrounding desert. After coffee, we’ll continue east and work our way toward the exit at Nahel Pumping Station. Big dunes, good views, and coffee in the middle of nowhere. Hard to complain. Camp chair is mandatory.
