IMHO LR2 is much better for wifey as it is AWD (all wheel drive) and much safer than X. Being offroad capable, I am not sure and I think many here already added much info that X is better than LR2 when comes to offroad. For the sake of wife happiness and much safer I would vote for LR2, mate.

BTW, do you know that Karting is the first step to Formula 1. All buddy and aspiring racer choose karting to learn the right skills, body balancing and maneuvers for F1.

There are too many if's and but to the complete answer than simple yes and no. If your car is German or European brand, better stick to dealer than outside. In Japanese, Korean and American cars they are very simple and it's ok to get service outside after the warranty. If you like to get more resale value then go with dealer to show the full service history record. This def pays 5-10% extra while selling. If your car is specialize/modified sports car then stick to specialized garage and not the dealers, they will do more bad than any good. Performance garage have more experience in such cars. If your dealer is reasonably priced, then yes. As many expensive brand dealer (not al futtaim) is highly overpriced here (too many to name). If you don't know much about cars and don't want to know (ignorant or busy folks), then stick to dealers.

No offence, may be you drive slow in fast lane means lot of people here stick to precise speed limit and sometime slightly under the speed limit, like on the road of 100 they will drive at 95-98. However not many people know that on road of 100 you can drive in between 100-120 and at 121 radar will get clicked not at 100. This grace speed of 20 kmph makes many people confuse and cause more trouble than any gain.

I really think it's a good idea to let them play in designated area under dubai police supervision than dying on the road and killing other innocent. Some rules can be broken and other can be bend, so I am sure Dubai Police will think of something smarter to deal with this crazy issue. Talk is good starting point in right direction.

I agree with Amitaj, that Merc is not a benchmark in that luxury league. I agree with Saleem's hilarious explanation of cars as per wife's. Damn good, creative and superbly suiting on each car segment. I highly agree with timmyjt explanation that BMW 7 series, Merc S class is not a drivers car's it's meant for chaufeur driven so that passenger, expecially rear one can get spoilt with luxury what these cars offer. Emirates Kart Zone runs from 3 PM to 10 PM on weekdays and on weekend till 12. Cost 100 dirham for 15 mins. Dubai Autodrome (Kartdrome) 9 AM to 11 PM, cost 100 dhs for 15 min for indoor and 120 dhs for outdoor. It sound expensive, but when you do it once you realize it's worth the money and how much you can have in 15 minutes of adrenal rush. I did once, and I might join here depending on the time we choose. Im 50% game.

You should go for Cooper STT than ATR, they are insanely awesome looking tires for any offroad ride. I am not an offroader, but seen those with my friend and they look so damn aggressive that they can climb any terrain happily.

Well if you have surplus cash then off course go with Cash and avoid all the hassles and paperwork required for bank loan. Secondly if you thinking big value and planning to keep for long term like 3-5 years then bank loan make sense that over required hassle you will save your equity for 5 years with very little interest.

Anyone knows the best idea to deal with daily bombardment of massage cards and magnet stuck at my car door window daily? Some cards actually slips inside the door and i am scared to damage the power window mechanism or door lock if it get stuck someday. This could be serious safety issue. One of the girl at my office who drive pink car is fortunate to not to get any cards, and she boast that's the best advantage of pink car. Yuck. Any authorities are there to take action on these buggers, or they can keep doing this unsolicited business card distribution freely.....?

I couldn't agree any more to your reaction, I feel your pain and frustration. Best way out from this newly unexplainable problem is to drive fast in slow lane. I myself doing that every time I see snail taking over the fast lanes as they tend to block all traffic and everybody wants to move to fast lane to drive fast and leave the right most lane FULLY EMPTY.

Hi Guys, I want to share my very first DIY after learning and reading from you guys. My car headlight (may be plastic) lense cover has been smudgy since quiet long time. Worst is left is more bad than right so it clearly looks like something is wrong somewhere. After reading many ideas of rubbing toothpaste, cleaning with laquer and other bla bla ideas. I went to ACE hardware for buying wood piece for my kitchen and while waiting for timber guy to come from lunch break i have found scratch out bottle in automobile section. Company name is Formula 1 and while reading the bottle instruction it says that it can cleans and restore the smudgy and faded head lamps too. I bought this and tried last night for 1 hour as instructed and trust me headlamps have been restored to original tint by 70%. May be i will do another excercise after a week and restore them 100%. After doing this i was so happy and felt accomplished of doing something myself that i thought of sharing this with you guys to help you and share my excitement. Hope my experience will help and inspire you guys. Cheers.

Suspension is not part of engine, i understand you got new car and pays attention to all small small things. But pay more attention to hear it if it comes from engine or around wheels side i.e front or rear wheels. Clicking usually comes from electrical part as there are many relays clicking around when car is running, but to come on uneven road means it could be suspension and then it shud come squeaking noise and not clicking.

Check the starter relay or better change that, and if it stays same then next is change the CKPS (Crank Position sensor). Its ony these two things left now Relay is cheap for 50 dhs, so try it first then last is sensor.
