  1. Try the iCarsoft i905 for the Toyota. It's Toyota specific and not very expensive. Around 5-600 dhs depending on where you buy it from
  2. Then first thing to do is actually drive it so see even if you like it or not
  3. Pulling out the motor for a seal is a bad idea. If I were you and remember I'm broke cheap and lazy. I'd just roll with it until it gets real nasty. OR You can also try some snake oil too. Lucas has a seal leak stopper and people have had some good results with it.
  4. And get cooked at the same time with such a huge induction coil
  5. Yeah dunno which one is worse but I'm leaning towards being dragged and thrown in a pit. Thankfully my Mrs sister lives here so they go on their own when they do Only time I go to IKEA is when I'm hungry and thank God the festival city has clean in and out for the restaurant and you don't have to deal with rest of Dante's inferno
  6. If it's from between the transmission and the engine and it's engine oil ( blackish ) then it's the rear main seal. If it's reddish then it's the transmission All of this is hard to tell from the one solitary dark pic
  7. Najmat Al Arief in Sharjah. Call Shivan personal experience with him for over 2 years now. Very very reasonable and knows his stuff on newer Land Rovers. Don't let his little beaten down shop fool you. Name is Sivan : 0503378383. English is not is forte though so there might be a bit of a language barrier, see if you can get an Arabic speaking friend to help you out. If you have no such luck. Let me know and I'll sort you out with him
  8. I rather be stripped naked and dragged across broken glass for miles and then smothered in honey and dropped into a pit filled with red fire ants than go to IKEA!!!!!
  9. Well in some states in the USA they have this as part of some people's parole. A breathalyzer is attached to the ignition circuit and you have to blow Everytime you want to start the car and if one is above it won't. Also in the US a lot of lenders and mortgage companies install disable systems. If you fall behind on your car payment then they remotely disable your car
  10. What do you expect from Tesla, they won't even sell you a single bolt or lightbulb to fix it yourself. You have to take it to Tesla or a Tesla approved workshop.
  11. Oh so this is a trim on the stock bumper. I've seen this on many shababs patrols and thought it's a ARB type steel bumper. And good job on the trim looks well executed by someone who occasionally gets his hands dirty and not by a first time DIYer
  12. Eat sensibly and some cardio with some weight training
  13. Hmmm. Hard to say could be anything in the rear drive line from the shaft to the axels. Any accompanying vibes or shudder? Also have to make sure it's coming from the rear. It's hard to tell like this and the sound bounces off the toad. Could also be from the trans or xfer case location.
  14. Well you can't makes laws hoping that technology catches on and is cheap enough for everyone in the future. Might as well make a law that by 2050 there will only be flying cars
  15. I dunno about being able to repair it. You can start by checking the fuel filter also to see if it's clogged. As for the mesh it's not worth the hassle to open the tank, clean it out it back and then see if it makes a difference. My theory is while you are in someplace difficult to get to. Might as well change everything, unless you just replaced it. Example: if you are opening the transmission to change the clutch plate might as well change the pressure plate as well as release bearings. Instead of 6 months or a year down the line you realize you have to bring the transmission again to change the bearing. Whole your are at it get it done.
  16. If after 10-20 minutes after switching off the car the fuel pressure falls dramatically then your check valve is toast. And also if your pump is excessively noisy then it means it's also about to die. That is if you can hear a distinct buzzing from it after you turn it on without starting the car. Also the mesh as mentioned specially for desert cars get very Sandy and clogged up.
  17. 2050. Although you never know! The first Rambo movie came out 38 years ago! And we just had another Rambo in 2019. While 2050 is only 30 years away! So there is very much a possibility of a Fast n Furious 50 in 2050! Now that's a scary thought if there ever was one! P.S : Dont think it will be as exciting though. With Dom stealing a classic car. A Tesla roadster! And halfway through the chase the battery would die.
  18. Unless you are a very seasoned and confident driver with a trustworthy ride it's never advisable to go alone and even then better to avoid it. I know this better than probably anyone here because I went on numerous trips more than I care to remember on my own because I had to because it was part of the job and on quite a few of these trips I had to spend a great deal of time tending to situations which would have taken minutes if I wasn't alone. Like getting stuck in axel hub high newly bulldozed powder sand. Getting ridged or the one out of two times I ever had a popout Popout more a flat actually being the worst because I was driving a company rented bushanab and had nothing but the factory Jack in it.
  19. Ideal situation for any sort of offroading. Both. Then you can also add rear wear steering, bash plates, lift kits, body armour etc etc and turn your car into a tank. Or let common sense prevail and suggest to learn how to drive properly in the desert first. Get good at it, while you are doing this you will also get familiar with how to tow properly and then if you must get one one installed at the front. I'm in disagreement here that winch is a necessary piece of kit for offroading. If it was you would see majority of the off roaders having one. But it's a rare sight. It's a great thing to have but not a must and not very practical for many either. First the costs involved, then most cars requiring some kind of modification to have it installed, then maintaining it and keeping it in good working condition supercedes the odd and rare occasion when you really really do need it. This is my take on this whole situation, take it or leave it and feel free to disagree.
  20. It's not meant for grumpy old Crocs like you. You sit back and enjoy a rerun of Sound of music on the old people's grumpy channel
  21. Well no disrespect a lot of people misdiagnose symptoms or convey them inaacurately. Could be he feels they are stiffer now because after driving for a long time on blown shocks he is riding on shocks that actually work.
  22. Well if your ride is still bottoming out then the springs are also toast. Springs are 14 yrs old they would probably be saggy by now
