  1. I know a few drivers like that. Its either full accelerator or full brakes. No middle ground. You start to get woozy after 5 mintues of sitting with them.
  2. For all my toyota needs when I had a land cruiser. I used Khyber spare sparts on BMW rd. Not only authorized toyo parts sellers. They brought is parts daily from Oman which were cheaper. Even if not in stock and you could order before 1pm and next day part would arrive cheaper than the rest and original toyo stuff.
  3. You clearly are waaay overthinking it. Is this going to be your 1st car here ? If you have decided what to get and how much you are willing to spend on it 80% of the battle is won, now you just have to wait for the right one to come along, sometimes it can even take several month. I know the feeling a close friend of mine is also looking for a car at the moment and we have seen atleast half a dozen in the last two weeks. Sometimes it works to put out a wanted adv. Long back I was looking for a Range Rover Classic and even back then they were rare as hens teeth. After waiting for a month or two and not finding anything I put out a wanted adv in Izzle. Immediatelty an older british gentleman reached out to me. Said he had one for sale. Went out to look at it, he was the second owner and he had bought it from a friend who had left the country. Car was in excellent nick, always parked in a closed garage with only 79.000kms on i. Really low kms for a 1991 He only used it on the weekends to go to beach with the kids. We could not make a deal, because I was not budging from my price and he from his. 3 or 4 years later another friend wanted a RR Classic and I happen to still have his number so I called him and he still had it but closer to 85k ish kms this time and he would still sell it. Eventually my buddy bought the car for 8k drove it for a year and then sold it to another friend who still has it to this day. P.S : You can actually go check out the cars physically at emiratesauction, they have a big yard behind tasjeel village as well as in Aweer
  4. Easiet way is to just look down the lenght of the car and you'll wavy panels. more obvious if you bob your head a little to the left and righr. People are also cheap youll sometimes see one sparkly new headlight and one crusty old yellow one. Usually means front end collision. Lift the hood and see if the slam panel is nice and straight with all the original warning labels. on the side see of the bolts holding the fenders are no messed with or painted over. Take out the door seals and see if metal lip they sit on is nice and straight. lift the carpet in the boot and see if everything is straight and true there. Other obvious things as mentioned are mismatched paint, tape lines, over spray etc etc etc Ive sold painted cars to aweer dealers who have brought out expensive paint testers and tested every panel and 9 tines out of 10 it cant tell or being used wrongly. It just reads paint thickness via ultrasonics
  5. Having personal experience with them. Paint testers are totally useless and a waste if money. A keen eye is nore useful.
  6. Thats pretty shitty of mutsubishi then. Then I guess Patrol springs are the best option.
  7. Why dont you try looking for oem springs for the lwb version, since it is a heavier car it sould give you a lift in the rear on the swb I remember for the land cruiser you got different rate springs for the diesel version and the one with bench seats facing each other ie troop carrier since it was supposed to carry a heavier load. I remeber I used the coils of a V8 grand cherokee on my inline 6 XJ and got 1.5 lift from them
  8. I dunno just doesnt seem right for some reason. Having that extra aura sense to increase situational and spatial awareness cant be a bad thing. You can drive but with one less sense. But then again people can drive at 140 in heavy fog where they can hardly see beyond their hood. Im sure you can manage without ears
  9. Doubt youll find anything locally for your model. I suggest if it has been serving you well all these years just replace both rears with OEMs as one new and one old will give you a funny and wobbly ride.
  10. Go for the obvious first. vibes under braking 9.5 times out of 10 means warped discs. If they are thick enough you can have them skimmed, or of they are cheap enough get a set of new ones.
  11. Sorry to say that has never happened to me. Even on that long boring 120kms dead straight to Liwa via Hameem. Even while coming back in the night in the times when it had no streets lights and all you saw was what your headlights lit up. I just moved back to Sharjah after living in Rak for over a year. Drove to and fro on that road more times than I can remember. Last 3 months was brutal wife drove to bussiness bay at 5am and then back to rak by 9 daily. Before that I was driving twice to Abudhabi daily for over a year So long boring drive is no excuse in my book!
  12. Sleeping on the wheel is bloody dangerous and can get people killed. Number 1 rule. Sleep well and be well rested. Number 2 if unavoidable. Pull over and take a nap before you get yourself or someother motorists killed. Thank God I dont suffer for this even when being behind the wheel contiously for 12-18 hrs. Only time I was really struggling was after being at the wheel almost for 24hrs non stop luckily it was 3 am in the morning and I was very close to home, told my colleauge to take over even though he didnt have a license but I knew he could drive well on and off road and take the car back to base as it was needed in the morning.
  13. 2K Primer Grey is the new Matt black even seen cars from factory coming with it.
  14. Matt Black. 😑 Nothing I hate more on a car more than matt black paint and blacked out wheels. plus Matt black is so 5 yrs ago. But hey each to its own. And I doubt the owner has even heard of a gasser let alone seen one. Finnegan fron roadkill has a real cool one! Plus in this dusty enviroment matt black always looks dusty and dirty.
  15. or black magic woman but Karna sure had a lot of bad karma to go out of business Think of it as driving an out of warranty Tesla with no Tesla approved workshops around since Tesla refuses to even sell anyone even a single bolt.
  16. Depends on thr car really. The rental sunny I notice myself driving with both hands. Need both to keep it going in a straight line. The range usually with the left. With my left elbow rested on the door sill ( It has thick doors wherr you can easily rest your arm )
  17. Weak pump, low fluid, air in the system or a combination of the three
  18. Luxgen parts! I swear and Im not kidding here the first time I even heard the name luxgen was in this thread. Wouldnt the dealer in DIP have parts for it?
  19. Dont believe everything you see
  20. Im going to make this thread even more confusing and say possible bad ignition coil or worn out joint on the drive shaft if it has one.
  21. Dunno, Ive had great luck with them, they do it right then and there never taken more then 10-15mins. Have gotten all sorts of pipes made frm fuel to steering to hydraulic
  22. Go to royal pipes in sharjah with a sample and they will make a new one right there in 10 mins with the correct fitting. Jusr tell them what is for so they use the right kind of material.
