The Super Select 4WD system has a electronic viscous coupling and the front wheels are being disengaged by the actuator (like hubs).

So it is a full-time 4wd with a 50/50 torque split all the time so all 4wd components always being driven only with the front hubs disengaged.

Kind of counterintuitive for gas mileage savings if you ask me because technically you are always in 4wd.

And if that's the case why not just leave it in 4H without LC like most modern full-time 4wd cars.

Why even have a 2wd option then, literally forcing the system to be 2wd without any real benefit. Maybe just to dupe customers into thinking you can save on gas while in 2wd like regular part time 4wds

@Gaurav Some times my car is little overheating in slow moving or ideal specially in mid day-when temp is high. Garage advised me to do radiator flushing. Mine is 2013 pajero. 120k done. Till now no work is done for radiator. So what shall I do now.

Radiator flush is a huge waste of time andd money. In personal experience flushing and opening it and getting it rodded has done fuck all good.

If overheating in slow moving traffic or idling then you fan clutch is on the way out.

A clogged radiator will overheat under engine load not at idle or slow moving traffic.

This, and removing the solenoid is about the only thing you can do yourself, if still the issue comes back you might want to take it to a workshop.

Wait. Why is the vacuum driven actuator on the from diff?. Shouldn't it be on the transfer case?

Unless it's a full time 4wd with 50/50 torque split and the front hubs only being engaged when 4wd selected.

Like old school 4WDs where you had to get out and manually lock the hubs.

  4. I will tell you the secret of compressor longevity. Put your AC on full blast put your compressor near the vent. Center console or seat point all vents towards it and snake the wire andd hose out the window. And after every tyre switch it off. Until you detach go around and attach it to your next tyre.

  5. Being a totally new driver I would suggest get a beater car for 5-10k and get used to driving in UAE first even if you kerb your wheels get a few dings and Dangs it won't be on your new expensive ride.

After a few months when you are all set, confident and used to driving here then dispose of your beater and go for your proper main ride.

I would never suggest a fresh out of the oven driver to get a new-ish expensive powerful SUV

I have rockford, i heard from too many ppl about thier disappointment from the pajero sound system, i was shocked to know that not all pajero models come rockford. Most of them unhappy with the non rockford quality bad sound quality and no way to connect to the sound system other than dvd player or the aux plug and they come without Bluetooth calling system so its bad setup in this case i personally advice those who has this setup to invest in a new modern setup.

For me, I am kind of satisfied with the rockford sound quality i have 10 or 12 speakers in total including a subwoofer and Bluetooth calling system all original. Its decent enough good sound quality and covers all my needs but i don't have and i need is a big android screen to have the maps on and rear reverse parking camera.

Having an android screen we can install lots of apps that could make our ride more fun.

  7. Yup agree with Fred surely a cheap tyre shop job where they have powerful impact guns and keep hammering it until it gives up.

    Ratta-tat-tat-tat-phoooos.

Always also check your tyre pressure after you leave there. They have these big semi truck guages that start from 30psi.

Specially if they had sold you some tyres. They will overinflate old tyres to 50psi in order to hide flat spots or unevenness.

  8. My personal anecdotal experience and you are free to disagree with my opinion

Unfortunately you can't get them bigger than 16" and I doubt anything recent is using 16" wheels, also not sure if they are still available or not. But I haven't looked into them in years maybe a bigger size is available now, if they are still available.

Alternatively Michelin LTX, also discontinued but you can get LTX2 now but $$$ 2nd best tyres. Smooth as silk on road and float like a boat on sand with its light flexible rubber compound

Generally for sand ( IMO ) you need a smooth tread pattern which don't bite into the sand and dig, but rather float over it, unless you are entering into a hill climb competition with your 1000hp beast then you should be using paddle tyres

I think it's a shame everybody keeps comparing to the Wrangler. But I guess in American that's it's closet rival and frame of reference.

I think between a Bronco and a Wrangler it would be Bronco without a doubt.

Let's hope when it comes into the real world of the sand dunes here it's not a total shit case.
