  1. Nicely explained @Asif Hussain, and we were always impressed with your way of handling the Truck. We must have trained thousands of offroader till date, but not everyone picks up equally and you have mastered the LWB handling to the ultimate perfection. My thoughts on this are because you have started your offroading in that truck and now anything smaller in size will be a piece of cake for you to command. That's what I and Rahim bhai always say, to start with underpower or difficult 4x4 to master the art of offroading and not another way around that takes you everywhere with a touch of the throttle.
  2. WOW, 2020 Mercedes GLS 580 has some really intelligent use of electronic to replicate the human reaction on sand stuck - bouncing and one wheel up. It was damn impressive, to see that beast bouncing.
  3. Going back to my classic question: How many pickups you have seen in the desert? Maybe 1:10 Friend of mine bought Tundra SWB single cab, I think with supercharged or he added on and sold after 6 months to go back to LC SWB. When he bought it, he was all excited and peppy about Tundra but when he changed, he did it quietly. All the marketing commercials of pickup talking about unleash your freedom, to be more manly and live like a king is a lifestyle touch for people who use these trucks to reach from point A to B in the desert and then camp and have tea, bbq and shisha whole night. Those people have different 4x4 for a different lifestyle needs + 1 wrangler or capsula with LS engine for dune bashing.
  4. Looks like you are bored with your Pathy and thinking of upgrade...? Although I have never used a pickup truck myself, but heard from friends that it is good but due to its long size not ideal for small dunes as its prone to crest a lot. Even the single cab or SWB pickup truck is the same size of LWB full size 4x4. However, it's best for camping lovers, who like to load a ton of stuff or quad bikes and still cross through dunes. @Asif Hussain please share your experience in detail as you had a Ford truck for a long time.
  5. @srini62 Emmanuel has just donated 100 points and you can upgrade to Active Membership now without any frustrations. @Dubasel Welcome to Carnity and it's offroad club, if you are a contributor then you can earn these 100 points in a day or two by posting a new topic, replying to others, liking or appreciating any comments, posting pictures in the gallery etc. After 9 years of consideration and observation - Carnity has taken this bold step to prefer 1 active member against 1000 sleeping members, to keep this one and only "Active" Car Community alive in UAE.
  6. This is a typical case and we all have gone through several hundred and thousands of dhs quote. My suggestion is don't touch anything in your Prado suspension if it's a daily driver, you will highly regret by firming up the ride for 1-day benefit and leaving you with a sore back for 5/6 days commute. Instead, just remove the lower lip of front bumper and/or trim them safely as much as you can and this same Prado can get you through Newbie and Fewbie level drives easy. And even to an intermediate drive, but with caution. If you have really decided to continue offroad for a long time, then spend the same money on the second car so that: You can have the best of both world (firm + soft) You will always have a backup car Your daily driver will stay clean - always Your offroad ride will be packed up ready always Maximum damage (if happen) will be the cost of an offroad car only You will be more comfortable pushing cheaper offroad ride to redline Distributing the load on two cars will extend both car life significantly
  7. Are you planning to convert your Prado for offroad only....? As with offroad suspension, you will seriously regret the daily comfort no matter with all the switches, settings and options any suspension company advertises.
  8. Sure you and your friend can hop in with any one of us, I always have one seat to spare being SWB and I'm sure others will have more seats to share. Come to the meeting point, as the start and exit point is the same.
