  3. I have been on both sides buddy. Having Ford Mustang GT 5.0 and going to office daily but still, I prefer my Pajero over Mustang or even my Range with a blink of an eye. Having a fast road car is limited fun with so many monkeys around and radar. Having a capable offroad ride gives you actual freedom to go anywhere and do anything anytime.
  4. Welcome @audi tech here nice ID, love to hear more about your interest and expertise

  7. Thanks, James, for sharing this and keep us updated as I would love to hear more about this beautiful event. Wish I knew this earlier, could have made some other plans to join you guys with Carnity bunch of offroaders. Tomorrow we are already committed, but I'm free on Saturday - if something is still there...?
  8. Maybe now Asif bhai can help you lead too as your navigator if he is not too busy these days
  9. OMG, this is a serious amateur recovery scenario: I think they tied a tow rope to bumper than a tow hook as Ford hooks are not so bad that they melt like a foam Guy too close would have injured badly or killed even if the red pickup tow point failed Should have dug out in front of wheels, as they are 80% inside the sand making recovering terribly difficult If he suspects soft sand on the beach, could have made a path firm by reversing and going forward a few times so that he can give multiple tugs on compact sand with slow speed Always start with a gentle tug first and then build the tug intensity after 3-4 attempts (if needed)

  13. BUHAHAHAHAHAH, this happens the same with me long ago and spotted this after lots and lots of $hit. My Pajero after an engine rebuild, doing first sidey and car went off. Came down started again, worked perfectly and then on next sidey car went off again. Exited desert with two cars escorting me to home, nothing happened. Went to the mechanic he literally pulled his hair as he can't spot the error. Next mechanic came in and spot the fault in 30 minutes, engine main ECU wiring has been passed next to the manifold and melts the wire to short that monster 100 AMP fuse on battery. Solution: ECU wire should be covered in heat resistant material and should not pass next to the exhaust manifold. If you want I can take my engine bay pictures and post to show the correct routing. You can refer to your old engine bay pic if you have it handy to find a sweet spot to secure those critical cables. See you on Friday
  14. Isn't RTA fining if the odometer is reversed as that's why they are recording it on every passing.....? However, I agree that used car dealers always have the best buy as they smell such a good thing and pick it up from the owner in a flash. I always, OK almost always buy low km cars and spend 2-3 months hunting as every low km I see and by the time I visit, it's already sold to a dealer (90% of the time).
  15. Welcome Razeen to Carnity and it's offroad club, looking forward to seeing you on newbie drive soon.
  16. I'm an advertising, marketing, events and PR specialist worked with several small - big - govt companies in the last 18 years in Dubai
  17. Looks like a laundry van to me with no doors and window on one side
  18. Of course, you have been helped enough with Fred and other comments, but just before you go whole nine yards I just like to ask you have you tried playing with lever a few times....? Put in several settings and drive for a few minutes, switch off the car and switch on again with few more attempts from 2H - 4H - 4HLC - 4LLC and back. In my car, if I loosely push out the 4W to 2W I see that blinking occasionally, so I put back in 4W and snap back at 2W with a little hard hand and that blinking goes away.
  19. I agree with Fred on this, buying one from scrap will be faster and cheaper than repairing here, due to expensive labor for such specialized work.
  20. DVD player, GPS, camera comes in 2 din, just an audio player is single din Post your dash pic here
  21. I have got the clayton player for my wife trailblazer, two years back and so far she is very happy with it. It has DVD, GPS, rear camera, bluetooth etc. I think it was for 500 something as I got whole job for 1000 including rear screen on roof, reverse camera with installation etc..
