Thank you everyone for joining the preview of a Sweihan Night Adventures. With the superb convoy that we had, the drive was poised to be an EPIC but unfortunately my granny had other plans. I really appreciate the patience showed by everyone and a big shout out to Mayank, for an excellent recovery. I am planning a revisit of the Sweihan Night Adventures in the weekend after Eid, and I look forward to your participation to complete what we had started. Till then, take care..

Agree that the summer is quite severe on both us and our cars. We generally avoid being on the sand beyond 9 AM till about 4 pm (which is when the mercury is above 40 deg. C). Every lead has their own style of drives, but I think I can say on behalf of everyone that the leads start to move towards the exit by 8:30 AM, as incase if there is a major stuck after that the recovery conditions can be extremely difficult. Another option is that you could try out the twilight / night drives which we keep having on a regular basis. You dont need any special offroad lights to join these drives.

Its about time to up the challenge for our Pajero drivers....hopefully they will have some portion of the dune remaining after your boat goes through.

Good morning Sweihan boys. hope you are set for tomorrow's night drive. I have planned a pretty nice route with some big dunes and bowls, and hopefully would be able to cover most of it while driving blind. 😀 For the WL members, it will be difficult for me to increase the RSVP number as in fast paced Night drives an extra long convoy would affect the fluidity of the drive. However, the RSVP will be kept open till tomorrow evening 5 PM.

@Zed I take serious offence to this statement. Now, one should not blame me if they bring Fake Patrols from Dragon Marts. @munkybizness thankfully drives the real deal... 😂

Thank you everyone for a wonderful evening. Yes, the drive and terrain was challenging which got further compounded with a longish convoy. In such pyramid shaped dune formations keeping the right distance becomes even more paramount else one can easily loose the track. @munkybizness was mentioning to me a small trick which I wish to share with all the drive participants - As a SL in the pyramid dunes he would ensure that he would closely follow my track and reach the top of the dune before I would crisscross. By doing that he would be able to see in which direction I had crossed over. So it means he was driving a lot closer in the pyramid dunes with an additional focus. Driving in the dark requires a different driving style than during the day and the more you practice the better you will become. As @Looper rightly mentioned, the convoy started getting the hang of drive style in the second half of the drive and the result was a smoother convoy movement. Thank you once again and look forward to driving with you all on another Night Drive.

See you at the starting point... Also, this area is prone to popouts and at night we will be doubling the chances of a popout. So the right tyre pressure would be play an even more critical role in today's drive.
