  1. What is the kind of CAI that you are planning. If it's the snorkelm, then I would not recommend it as it's not exactly justified the investment unless you are wading in water. Your air intake needs to be close to it's current location for it to give some real benefit. Yes, a real CAI does help as in principal cold air = more dense air, which will result in better oxygen supply resulting in better combustion. But like I said above is it a real CAI?
  2. We generally recommend switching off Side Airbags while offroading because of the angle in which the car is sometimes driven. But having said that Prado's side airbags have a better understanding than some American cars and have rarely popped on the sand while offroading Till Fewbie level you would be fine by not disabling the side airbags. After that it's recommended to get it done to avoid unnecessary expenses.
  3. I recently purchased these Rocker Switches and fabricated a panel to suit my requirements. https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B08DKMHC8J/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_XBETZCCV9NWK4B81MP0M
  4. I frankly wouldn't bother using it to clear off the sand especially from the engine bay. In my car, the sand plays a very important role of a sealant to stop the oil leaks. 😂
  5. Would have loved to join. An IM drive with Gaurav is something that I have missed for far too long. But have some guests over this weekend and they wouldn't appreciate the high adrenaline drive at Qua, so would bring them on a nice relaxed NB Drive. I have thrown the challenge buddy. It's up to you whether you want to take it up. 😂
  6. Dont get too excited Zed. We don't need a Landcruiser Bowl in addition to the Pajero Bowl.

  11. Option 2 does evenly distribute the load. But in your existing setup do you have recovery points on both sides at the rear. If so, I would look to upgrade that as it gives the flexibility while doing some difficult tugs
  12. Hi @Abdul Basit Khan it took you only 4 years to buy your 4x4 vehicle in UAE 😂. I still remember you enquiring about which one to buy in 2017. Great to have you onboard.
  13. Widening the stance excessively does add additional load on your CV joints causing premature wear. You could either get good quality spacers or a deep dish rims. In both options you need to ensure that it's of a good make else you will be adding a lot of unnecessary vibrations while cruising on the highway.
  14. Marjan, for sure it's sad to see you leave. You have immensely contributed to the Club in many ways and especially in terms of leading as well as supporting drives. I am sure you are going to be missed. Wish you good luck. Take care.
  15. 2021 Season Finale Trip Report Probably one of the best drives I have been a part of this entire year. We had a fantastic group of drivers and coupled with some awesome terrian it was a recipe for some nice heart pumping fun. Due to the new AD entry regulations a drive which had initially 13 drive participants on Sunday was reduced to just 6 come Friday morning. However, with a shorter convoy comes more fun and thats what we had. The bowls and pyramid shaped dunes near the Bu Tais tree area was our first point of attack. The heights, the pace and criss crossing that we had done in that stretch were truly spectacular and something that I have been wanting to do for a pretty long time. As we moved East towards E95, we encountered a stretch of big dunes that had a lot of uneven surfaces and bushes. While it didn't provide a smooth ride but the pace and the criss crossings continued. Closer to the final stretch of dunes we encountered a smoother terrain and bigger sized pyramids and bowls. The sand was powder soft, but the group was relentless as we kept scaling higher and crossing some pretty sharp ridges at high speeds. As we had to exit out from the starting point, we started driving through the flat dunes closer to the sabkhas. The pace set of just above 100 km/h through the winding flat dunes was just the perfect end to what has been a fantastic day and year. I wish to thank all the drive partipants @Ranjan Das, @Mus_hus78 @Ilya @Mario Cornejo for bringing out their best on a terrain that was demanding. And ofcourse a special mention to @Asif Hussain for providing the support to the drive. It's always a pleasure to drive with you Sirji. WIsh you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year, and I look forward to driving with you in 2022. Take care
  16. I did it at HealthHub this morning. Did an urgent PCR to get the result in 8 hours. SEHA might come by night around 12 AM. Hope that you get it and are able to make it.
  17. Just got mine. So will see you guys in the morning. As we are a small group convoy numbering will be decided on the spot
  18. In the past, they would let you in at any time as long as you had an appointment for that particular day.
  19. Depends where you do it. I think in SEHA they give the results within 12 - 24 hours, Other places like Festival City Health Hub, can give the results in 8 hours as well.
  20. @Arman @Mario Cornejo @Mus_hus78 @Pacific @Rawad @varunmehndiratta @Ilya @Lawrence_Chehimi @Jorge Stepniak Felippe @Ranjan Das @Gaurav @Rizwanm2 Thank you for signing up for what should be a pretty exciting 2021 Season Finale Drive. Few pointers as a preparation for the drive : 1. Keep your car as light as possible with only your offorad gears and required eatables. 2. Try to avoid carrying any extra weight, and if you can avoid passengers it would be even better. 3. Ensure that your car is in the best of shape for this drive as we would be revving it continuously through the entire course of 4 hours. 4. Please ensure that you are at the meeting point at 6:45 AM, a little early would be better. Since its 31st Dec we all would want to get back home to our friends and family in time. 5. Tyre pressure would be critical as we would have long hill climbs, so please ensure that at the start of the drive you are running on the right tyre pressure. To answer the queries raised by Varun: 1. Last week I came to AD, and the time needed for the EDE scanning is just a few seconds while you sit in your car. However, if the test is inconclusive they will do a Free Antigen test which would take about 20 mins. So my suggestions is to plan this 20 mins in your drive to the meeting point 2. The offroad route taken would depend purely on the convoy response as well as the nature of the dunes. So for the moment, I have kept multiple exit options and will be deciding during the course of the drive. However, the approx drive time back to Dubai would be approx 2 to 2.5 hours. 3. The nearest gas station is approx 40 km from the meeting point, and we will need to drive a further 15 km before we hit the dunes. So my suggestion is to carry atleast 10 litres of extra fuel (unless you have a very big fuel tank). The nearest gas station if coming from Abu Dhabi or E11 route is https://goo.gl/maps/RD51i4iwZ4yAAThF6 . If you are coming from the Al Ain side, then the nearest gas station would be https://goo.gl/maps/H6KiuMiH1a9zSFWc9 4. Camping is safe as long as you stay away from bushes and trees. But I would be driving down in the morning. I dont wish to carry the camping gears for just a 2 hour drive from Dubai.
  21. @Frederic I think you know this car a bit, right?
