  1. I look after a 69 Mach 1. Here’s a review on it, Something to remember is that even if it has been restored, it’s still 50 years old and it will break down more than a modern car so you need to be good with the spanners or have a tamed mechanic. If that doesn’t bother you, I’d say go for it. A nice classic will turn heads. Here you see Ferrari’s and Lamborghinis every day and they barely get a second glance but when you roll by in an old mustang, everyone notices. This particular one is for sale. If you’re interested send me a message and I’ll give you the details on it.
  2. I know a few people driving them. Other than the fact that can burn oil at an alarming rate, there are minimal issues other than wear and tear just like any other car. As far as I know the only difference in the GCC spec 993 is that the fan switch and thermostat kick in at a lower temperature so in theory, you could buy a European car and just swap these 2 cheap parts and have the same car, minus the Arabic stickers.

Gene Simmons is the Morrisey of metal. Pretentious twat with a lot of views that don’t fit in with being a decent human being.
  4. Gaurav bhai just wait. There is a bug following you and he will bite you soon. It won't be long before you're buying a carbon frame and adding drop bars and skinny tyres and building it to your own spec. It's an addictive hobby. I started out on a bmx then moved to MTB. It wasn't long before I got into hybrids then racer spec tarmac bikes. Always kept a nice mtb for off road forest trails too. Not a massive fan of full sus bikes, they sap up all your pedaling power but front sus is a godsend off road. I used to work in a bike shop so if you ever need help setting your bike up, straightening bent wheels, lining up gear mechanisms, balancing brakes etc I'm your man.
  5. Sarao is a company in the Philippines that builds jeepneys. My guess is that our friend is a jeepney driver back home?
  6. What bike did you buy and what specs? I used to do a lot of cycling at home but the roads here scare me and it’s a pain having to travel somewhere to ride. It will surprise you how quickly you can build up from 6-7k runs to 60-70k runs. I imagine dehydration will be a big issue here. Isotonic drinks. Water alone isn’t enough to replace the electrolytes lost through sweating.
  7. Are there venomous snakes here? Also same question but spiders? I used to think this was just a wasteland but I’m constantly surprised by some of the weird things I see when I’m out and about.
  8. I used to buy a lot of parts from eBay. You need to be careful. A lot of the time it says the seller is from Europe but when the part has arrived it has been dropshipped from China. I’ve got caught out a few times and there’s no way of knowing until the package shows up.

I also refuse to listen to kiss now. It’s a shame because they were a good band but every time I hear them now I just remember how much of a twat gene is.

  11. Not Sharjah, saja’a. It’s an industrial area in the middle of nowhere outside Sharjah. https://g.co/kgs/PRny7B its a lot of scrapyards in a 1km square area. All laid out neatly with proper streets.
  12. If you’re going to buy new just buy from Habtoor. It will be a lot less hassle in the end. Second hand, call Imam Ali 0503068495. He owns jabal Tokyo spares in Sharjah industrial area 6. He will have it. He can be a bit expensive at first but if you keep going back and he gets to know you, the prices drop. Third option, take a day off work and head to saja’a. It’s worth a drive round there just to see the interesting stuff lying around.
  13. Eid Mubarak! Personally I hate big companies and prefer to give my cash to individual business owners who are trying to make a living but I know a few people who have used autopro and they said it was a decent service.
  14. Bloodhound SSC holds the jet/rocket powered land speed record. Challenger 2 holds the piston powered record.
  15. I do appreciate big understressed engines and their lazy power delivery but there’s no denying driving something lightweight, frantic and high revving can get the adrenaline pumping. What about a bike engined Hijet? I had a Hijet pickup for a while. It wasn’t something I set out to buy or even look for but it came up for sale for £100 (500 dhs) so I bought it for a laugh. Hands down the slowest vehicle I’ve ever owned. I live up a mountain and it struggled to get up the hill in 1st gear with 2 motorbikes on the back. I stuck it up for sale and got 5 times what I paid for it. The guy was going to stick a busa engine in it. https://youtu.be/8ZvLkxCpRJs
  16. No VW engines there. What about this Ferrari eating Peugeot? Spaceframed, mid mounted overbored cosworth v6, 4wd through full 6r4 running gear. How about a nice VW conversion? Old Golf running a 2.0 ABF, pushing over 1150 BHP through a 4motion transmission. Absolutely nothing wrong with small cars.
  17. The 1968 Challenger 2 has been revamped and set a new land speed record for a piston engine driven vehicle, 448.757 mph. Full story here, https://racer.com/2018/08/12/updated-thompsons-challenger-2-sets-new-lsr-record-at-bonneville/

  20. You guys can laugh all you want but you’ll have to catch my light and nimble lada in your 500 tonne unimogs before you can run over it. @desertdude who is selling Nivas here? I’ve seen a couple around but just assumed they were private imports. Ive seen a few unimogs too. I’m surprised DEWA don’t use them. My local electricity company at home use them to reach the electricity lines in the mountains.
  21. Crazy. I never would have imagined a v8 would fit in a jimmy chassis.
  22. Small block in a jimny? Link please!
