  1. Starlet was the third pic I posted, albeit the older model. The Glanza you posted, the JDM version, makes 133 BHP which in itself is impressive for a small car with a 1.3 engine. They can make 300 BHP and beyond with some mods and that is insane when you factor in the power to weight ratio. Car number 5 on my list is truely impressive. Nissan Sunny/Pulsar GTi-R. SR20DET engine putting out 227 BHP in standard form through an AWD system. That will match any of the modern stuff VW is putting out

To be fair, if you go to any country you will always be an expatriate. You will always have less rights. The locals will always come first and rightly so. Sure, some countries offer residency but look at the shitstorm the US has become and I don't blame the UAE for wanting to go down that road. If the UAE offered PR or citizenship, it would become the United Asian Emirates overnight and the locals would be pushed out of their own lands. If you want to have a good future for yourself, do it yourself, don't rely on any government. Put money into a pension scheme, invest your spare cash in businesses in your own country. That's what I'm doing but I'm investing in the wife's country rather than my own. Nobody will save you if you're living abroad. You have to save yourself.
  3. This car is related to the one above because it was built by the same company Hillman Imp aka the thinking mans Mini Cooper
  4. I don’t know. I think cars can always be repaired, even if you have to fabricate parts, but some people are beyond redemption. I know myself I’d rather spend a week locked in a garage full of broken cars than a room full of broken people.
  5. It’s not the vehicles, it’s the customers.
  6. This car is related to the one above because they share a similar design Lada Samara
  7. This car is similar to the one above because it’s a more modern version from the same manufacturer Fiat 131 Abarth Stradale
  8. eBay seller autoparts-mall
  9. Sorted. Got a repair kit online and did it myself. Surprisingly easy to do too. 15 minutes rebuilds the units. The biggest job is taking the strut out of the car.
  10. The Mazda 6 is basically a less reliable version of the Ford Mondeo. Same engine and running gear but the electrics are more flakey. The Honda Accord is a decent car but look into parts prices first. They can be pretty high. Lexus is a good suggestion. Reliable Toyota running gear with Mercedes levels of luxury. They are expensive but they hold their value well. Providing you look after it, you won’t lose much on depreciation when it comes time to sell. I’m actually looking at cars for when I get my visa sorted and the old LS400 tops the list. 10k buys an example with 400k on the clock and I would have no fear of using it as an every day driver.
  11. This car is similar to the one above because it came from the same company who designed the Hindustan Ambassador. Morris/Austin 1100 aka BMC ADO16
  12. This car is similar to the one above because it was the first in a series of cars designed by Ferdinand Porsche that eventually led to the 911 Mercedes 170 H
  13. 400 cars https://www.msn.com/en-gb/cars/enthusiasts/the-man-who-owns-400-cars/ss-AAx5Wle?ocid=spartanntp
  14. Just a game for a bit of fun. Pick a car and say this car is related to the one above because.... and add your reason. First picture

    Wrestling

Wrestling was always fake. We all know it. But Kayfabe for the sake of entertainment is what makes it fun. Check out some of the crazy stuff wrestlers like Jeff Hardy did in his TNA time. Sure, the storylines aren’t real but jumping off a 2 story cage and smashing someone through a table, you can’t fake that. This is why I don’t watch WWE these days and why the indies are far more entertaining. Ever see New Jack in ECW stabbing the guy in the head with a fork? This is why indie wrestling is king. WWE is for divas.
  16. @sertac did you get it fixed? Was it a coil issue?
  17. My therapist suggested I try Carnity. Let’s see what happens 😂

    Wrestling

I’ve met a few people on the forum who are into wrestling. Im not into WWE myself, I prefer indie wrestling, impact, ring of honour, international championship wrestling, new japan wrestling, combat zone wrestling (the new ECW). WCW is what started it for me. The new has just come in that Big Van Vader has passed away due to a combination of pneumonia and heart failure. He was a brilliant wrestler in his time and had one of the best entrances with the big alien helmet with smoke coming out. Makes me wonder, how long do the old school guys have left, hulk, sting etc. Sting looked after himself but hulk was and maybe still is a steroid freak. Brother.
  19. V8 in a Pajero is a tight squeeze. The V6 is tight enough. Even if you slide it back a couple of inches (which will necessitate shortening the main prop and lengthening the front prop), it will still be tight to fit the radiator up front. On a side note, how do these people with Denali engined patrols get their car passed? I’m guessing it’s a case of wasta? lets go back to the original point, uae mechanics are mediocre at best. Most of these guys are people who spend their time doing oil and timing belt changes. They have no experience of modifications. When you look at all the best engine swaps on the internet, they’re all home built machines. When you’re doing that kind of work yourself, you have all the time in the world to spend on it. People here are on the clock with the sword of Damocles hanging over their head. There are mechanics here who can do this work but it’s expensive and it’s expensive for a reason. It’s part of an old internet meme but when I worked for a Mercedes restoration company the old guy (papa smurf, I’ll explain later) told me about the mechanics triangle. There is good work, there is fast work and there is cheap work. You can pick any two of them but all three together aren’t possible.
  20. Another eBay horror Mercedes. SL350 that looks like it crashed into one of the accessory shops in Al Awir.
  21. Let's say things aren't going well for you but you need a car to commute to work, to go to the shop etc. You have 5k dhs to spend on a car. What would you buy and why? Links to actual cars for sale earn bonus points.
  22. Nope. But it is European. Clue number two - The car came from the same country as the engine manufacturer.
