Trip Report - with @Xaf & @Atif bhai write up I'm already feeling this trip report is just a spec in the true expression of this weekend's beautiful drive. The joke of the weekend was as I went to sleep close to 12:30 am I gave task to my daughter to wake me up at 3:30 am. I dreamt that the alarm was ringing which woke me up, I thought I switched off the alarm and headed to my daughter's room to let her know I was up. Her reaction was I thought you asked me to wake you up at 3:30 am, but it's only 3 am now. Was it dream or reality? So confused. I asked her to go to sleep and started getting ready. I was totally undecided about the drive till @Atif bhai generously offered to pick me up and drop me back. I lazily got ready and strolled to the petrol station we were supposed to meet at to see he was already waiting for me. So we made one mote stop for breakfast and we were on our way. Usually I'm very chatty and don't like a silent moment, however enjoyed @Atif bhai's company as he had a few interesting things to say which I could not help but listen. Reached the meeting point, with cold breeze and warm hugs. This was sufficient to get my batteries charged as we moved on to the deflation point. After a quick deflation we had an amazingly energy filled briefing. This ended with the convoy numbering as we headed off to what was going to be an awesome day with amazing people. @Srikumar is having the best time on his side as he cannot keep a foot wrong. There was a huge grin on my face as he took us through some of the most awesome yet manageable dunes. The best thing that happened to me in last 3 year's to miss my Pathy, as it gave me an opportunity to ride along with @Atif bhai who surprised me with his driving style. It was a pleasant surprise to see the ease with which he managed each dune never really making his Prado scream even in the difficult patches. He later confirmed that he never put the pedal to the metal, just enough gas to go through every dune. It was a long convoy of 15 cars and at times the front of the convoy would cross the rear as we went sealing a way to head forward with the entire convoy. @Emmanuel was just making his own path to add a little excitement for the more experienced drivers but the idea was to keep with the convoy. @Shamil had @Gaurav bhai as his co-driver and waiting for that story and their experiences to be shared. Special mention to @Halit Mert Issever who was driving very close to us in the convoy. He had a ear to ear smile and was really testing out his ride to the maximum. From what I was able to see he was enjoying the most among all of us. Thanks for getting long Divya, she had an amazing amount of positive energy and we thoroughly enjoyed her company. Another mention to @adildbx who showed improvement over his last 2 drives and speaking to him at the end I realized it was due to coming out of the shell he had closed himself in. Another interesting read would be the experience of @Jamy B. riding with @Emmanuel. The true adventurers soul in @Jamy B. means she is looking for a ride and we wish her all the best. I have heard so much about @Xaf and how he flies his Land Cruiser with precision, I would like to join him as a passenger any day. We had a couple of situations which gave us all an opportunity to learn, I hope everybody on the drive took some lesson from both situations. I would like to thank @Mohammed Yaasir for allowing me a couple of sessions with his FJ, it is a beautiful machine and a pleasure to drive. Continue to learn and explore, but remember to do it one step at a time. We ended to drive at the meeting point, after inflation we had a nice tea/coffee and snacks. @Xaf the pancakes I got are called Aloo Paratha or Potato embedded bread. I have updated my pics in the Gallery, looking forward to many more drives with you all.

Is one of your friends @shadow79. He has the same excuse. His children will not listen, they cry, they come loose any which ways. I had my heart in my mouth when he had the roll over with his little kid. Hope we can change the world one person at a time starting with our family and friends.

I say we will be back to Donkey carts with no airconditioning. Fashion always comes back.

I'm way over those scare days when a reckless driver would be swerving around lanes or people who overtake me from the right or the big overloaded heavy trucks trying to get there yesterday. But my heart still skips a beat when I see pedestrians crossing the road or the bike guy trying to avoid idiots on the road. If a car gets banged its just an object which can be repaired or replaced, but life and limbs are priceless.

I was never into Iron Maiden. My brother used to give me a headache playing it on full blast.

Just have a nice high jump to shake the sand off. No need for full car wash.

The showrooms over charge by 25 - 30% in the name of ease of paper work and some useless warranty. Try searching for a personnel sale, you'll save enough for a few necessary mods and maintenance for a whole year.

Trip report - thank you @Mikhail Lukichev after that epic video with an awesome sound track and the exceptional drone footage I don't think I can say anything to top it up, but I'm still going to try. Waking up early in the morning and preparing for the drive and breakfast all pays off when you see so many smiling faces in the morning. As we started our brief I could see the anticipation of the drive from everyone. But my appreciation to all for showing patience, although I really loved the way @Emmanuel handled the brief, he kept everyone engaged and as a force of habit I'd take over once in a while. Or maybe I took over one to many times. But we can't emphasize enough on safety and following some ground rules to understand this sport better. As we deflated, got our convoy numbering and headed in, @Emmanuel. Did not take any chances and took a very scenic but easy route. But as soon as I commented that this was a boring drive he managed to get us a couple of stucks to keep us all involved. At this point we were on the base of Pink Rocks and @Emmanuel found that the straightest path up was the easiest one. But once all were up @Brette and I decided to do it a bit differently. Unfortunately @Emmanuel coolant hose had come off and caused the coolant to splash all over. Once the pipe was fitted back snug in its place we filled it with the only thing we had, water. After playing on the Pink Rocks for sometime we headed out to the 2nd December Cafe to have breakfast. However finding it occupied Emmanuel decided to find some trees for shade from the sun. We drove in the opposite direction for some time to find a wonderful shaded spot with loads of trees. We settled in and started chatting about off roading with some refreshing breakfast and tea. After we were done we packed up and headed back to 2nd December to inflate and head back home. It was a wonderful drive which saw @Mikhail Lukichev in second lead and @Atif bhai in sweep position. Both of them did well and I was overwhelmed by @Atif bhai energy in the sweep position. In the end I would like to thank all and until next time adios Amigos and Amigas.

Wow @Srikumar nice trip report. Great going @Javier M looks like you've taken up the sweep position as your own. Heard good things about your lead too. @Shamil really happy to hear positive things about your improvement and control. Glad you're learning well and putting it into practice.

Surely you can remove at the time of passing and put it back on later, but that costs money and time. Moreover like @desertdude put it the bull bar is not light and adds weight to the front of the car. Even on road that means your fuel economy will suffer as with any weight added to the car. In this part of the world it's useless and does not add any value or protection in case of a collision. After taking it off and putting it back on a couple of times the alignment of the thing also goes for a toss. I just realized when I got a AED 600 fine for front number plate not showing. Older pictures show that the number plate was visible through the gap.

Come on guys there is a lot more to learn from the video.

Yes Awafi is big on doing all these crazy stuff within a fenced area. Also emergency staff is involved to keep things under control. But what @Barry is pointing out is at having these events more often.

It's about time. I was wondering when they would understand that it's been tried and failed. But just when people were getting used to it they go and announce this.
