isoon.i generally do not have an issue with my Pajero, just the one time when the steering got a bit stiff was due to low tire pressure. Once I filled air to the right PSI it has been driving like a dream.

Trip Report. What a night, Superman truly back into action caught flying all over Area 53 after 3 weeks of exposure to kryptonite. With myself in the lead, @Javier M in second lead, followed by @Roshan Abraham, @MATHEW FELEX, @Shamil and @Frederic and @Gaurav bhai in the sweep. Earlier @Gaurav and myself were flying to the meeting point to brief the new personal on board, but had to wait and thus got somewhat delayed in our start. The first bit itself was fun but soft sand which made it difficult for all 7 cars to go through. A little reroute saw better results with 400 meters without a stuck, but it was that kind of a night where the sweep team had to do overtime to keep the convoy moving. Every time I tried to make through closer to Iftar bowl we were faced with a soft sand wall which was impossible for all 7 cars to clear. Slowly but surely we moved around the Iftar Bowl to find a path that would finally let us through. There were a lot of hits and misses, but close to early morning hours we finally found a track and almost made it through. Just edging at the back side of Iftar Bowl waiting for the rest to catch up, I came to find out that one of the cars was caught up in an awful pocket. I made my way back to the sweep team and assisted with a couple of tugs that had the vehicle in a better position. From here @Gaurav bhai took over and got it out in a jiffy. With the sun coming out, we played a while on the Iftar Bowl. This was time for @Javier M to bow out as his friend Ramon was not feeling so well. Rest of us headed 100 meters away from the action to a safe spot with a shade which was not going to last very long. We lay our spread and enjoyed recapping the horrid night behind us. With the sun becoming just a bit unbearable we had a quick ride in the daylight to exit. We all inflated our tires and promised to meet another time. So in short the drive was challenging yet fun. It had Superman written all over it but not without the help of the sweep team. So until next time I bid you all farewell. See you all soon.

When getting the job done please ensure they are doing a proper job with the proper wiring and fuses required. Many a shoddy job has seen cars burn down to a crisp and insurance wouldn't cover it because you have applied an improper mod. BTW I think you mean JGC.

Past couple of days I'm trying to pay back at work the 3 weeks I was on vacation. @MATHEW FELEX you're most welcome to join if you're comfortable driving at night at a slightly fast paced drive. @Roshan Abraham since @Shamil has shared his faith in your driving capabilities I'm happy for you to join, but would like you to share your experience and vehicle so that I'm more comfortable in planning my route.

I have no clue about the crossovers, they don't interest me. However one of my favourites is the Honda Accord crossover. Just love the performance and reliability of the Honda.

Unfortunately CVT cannot be reprogrammed. The feel of the CVT is one reason for me not to go for a couple of my favorite cars. Thanks to test drives which saved me from this curse called CVT.

The service centre itself closed some time back. I cross it every time remembering the time I used to service my Mitsubishi Eclipse.

I have made 2 mistakes in my life. My Renault Megan's, which I bought due to my great experience with a Renault Clio. Even paid a bit more to get with warranty from the dealer, but every service I was handed a bill which was at least 4 times to cost of the service to some failure not covered by warranty. My second mistake was my 2nd Jeep Commander which I got with my great experience with the first one. However as the story unfolded the 2nd one was an American Import which kept giving me lot of issues and within an year had to sell it for peanuts as the Oman market closed any cars over 10 years old. Hard lessons learned in both cases.

This holds true anywhere in the world. Thus a more reliable ride will cost you more compared to a less reliable one. Example a Toyota Prado 2004 model might be selling between 30k - 40k where as a Ford Explorer of the dame model will sell below 10k. This is because the Toyota is more reliable and generally needs only periodic services, whereas an Explorer needs more repairs thus increasing the cost of ownership. Buying secondhand also means taking on somebody else's problems and you can never be sure, although a proper inspection might help your cause.

Not exactly a car show, but I sneaked into the garage of a company that deals with 4x4 mods. This is one of the reasons I want to settle down in Philippines when I retire. Only mud and mountain off roading here only.

For tires I am a great fan of Yokohama Geolandars now for both on and off road use, but if it's mostly for highway use I would recommend Nitto Duragrapplers and Kumho Solus KL21 both user reviews available on Carnity. For battery once I have gone for Amaron I never changed to any other brand, costs slightly higher but last over 4 years for me every time.

For me driving from Sharjah to DIP is a long drive and back and the time, petrol and money spent is not worth it. I like the fact that 15 minutes drive to Ajman and @shadow79 would let me work on my car if I want to with the tools and his expert eyes on me and it would cost me much less.
