Dear @Rouaj i have removed your RSVP from this event as you have done the Absolute Newbie drive already. Please sign up for one of the available Newbie level drives. Dear @Yasin thanks for signing up. I have seen your introduction from last week. See you on Friday ! thanks @Mohamed Shawky. Some Dodge Ram models come with a very low front bumper lip that easily gets damaged. Kindly check once if that can be removed or share a picture so we can see which edition it is. Thanks.

Hi @Ali Shah With regards to the flag, if it is a suction cup you can experiment with both to see what works best for your. Most of us have a "generic" flag, you can perhaps check on Amazon for something more creative, as long as its not anything disturbing. Avoid huge flags as they will break the flag pole. With regards to modifications we do not share or advertise shops here on the forum as we choose to remain unbiased. If you google or ask around on the upcoming drives to people with these underbody protections, you are free to ask them where they got it.

We had this for a while on our Big Blue Pajero as well. I removed the terminal, and used a scrubbing pad to completely clean the terminal itself, and the clamp also separately. After putting it back and tightening properly, the problem seem to have dissapeared. Battery Terminal Corrosion: Why it happens & How to fix it (carcody.com)

Good morning @Dinesh Kumar A @Mohamed Shawky @ahmed salama @Ali Shah @Serhat Yalcinkaya @qasim Muhammad@Karthik Narayanan @ayra Shihab Welcome to Carnity Offroad Club ! As this will be your first drive with us, i would like to ask you the following things: 1) Please introduce yourselves a bit: which 4x4 are you bringing, do you have any prior experience, and please confirm that your car has front and rear towpoints that are in good condition as well. 2) Please bring at the minimum a pressure gauge with tyre deflator, and air compressor to the drive this Friday, so you can deflate the tyres when you arrive, and re-inflate them again after the drive. If you have an offroad flag, programmed radio, and other equipment already then of course you are welcome to bring them along. 3) Please watch the Absolute Newbie Briefing video with your full attention. This one covers most of the basics and will definitely help you in being more comfortable for your first offroad drive. MUST WATCH: NEWBIE VIDEO BRIEFING Some more useful tutorials: If you have any questions prior to the drive, you can use this drive topic to post them. We will do our best to help you out. @takeshi sobue according to your drive stats, it seems you have attended the Absolute Newbie drive already last week, so please sign up for one of the Newbie drives coming weekend. (The Absolute Newbie drive can only be attended once).

Oh boy… I left the office by 5 with a sea of time to go grab a bite, Top up the tank, take some rest, and get prepped for an amazing night drive. Until the battery died at the gas station… Several jump start attempts and eventually a push later from a few guys that were angels sent from heaven, I googled the nearest workshop and rushed to get a new battery installed. Hence I was a bit late but with a little help from my dearest friends we were quickly deflated and good to go. My adrenaline levels were still a bit high from the rush to the meeting point and they would stay pretty high the entire night, owing to Sri squeezing out every inch of usable dune or slope. Resulting in Little Blue screaming with pleasure 😅 Some shoveling and fixing cars are key fun ingredients in those kinds of drive, and when @Gauravs battery also died the same night, that convinced me even more that our cars are as linked together as much we are. Kudos to @Zed for taking his white ship of the desert unscathed (well almost) through this terrain. Also @Mus_hus78 and @GauravSoni with LWB Pajeros surfing through the dunes and proving that they are so underrated. @Ruan van den Heever @Xavier Treasurer @Asif Hussainand @Gaurav were the perfect team and took every challenge with a laugh and came back asking for more. There is absolutely nothing else that could be improved, and your 100th lead was memorable. Forget the bulldozered dunes and cross tracks, there is something to be said about perfect imperfections that make it “unforgettable”. Thanks to all for being part of it and the great night out !

Hi @Ali Shah welcome to Carnity ! Let me give you my two cents as Pajero owner 1) Tow hooks. The stock ones are totally fine and we've never seen issues with them as they are sturdy. 2) Flag. Any model works fine. Plenty options in Dragon Mart or offroad shops. Some people go for the suction cup, others get a bracket made that mounts on the rear spare wheel (this is the better option). Most offroad shops sell or fabricate these brackets and flags. 3) Securing gear: good question. Most of us are using the spider net to secure the items properly. Personally i also have a big black ABS plastic box that fits in the back and holds most of my gear. 4) Modifications: Yes i would definitely recommend the rear skidplate as the Pajero scoops up the sand in the back and after some drives it will bend the rear bumper. While you are at it get yourself a front bashplate as well to protect your front bumper a bit more. Most Pajero owners also trim the front bumper a bit further to get some extra clearance. Offroad shops will sell you the decent aluminum front and rear protection for about 1200-1400dhs installation included. 5) Tow hitch is a good option and will give you some extra protection at the back, but you will still need the rear protection and the tow hitch only covers the center portion of the rear bumper. There are several brands, perhaps check with Habtoor as they must be selling this as an add-on for any Pajero customers. Additional: We have seen quite a few Pajero owners with overheating transmission oil issue. Seems to be on the later models (2013 onwards) that they have lowered the limit which makes the alarm trigger sooner. For many of us it helps with the LWB to drive in tiptronic and trying to stay in the same gear (in D the car is often upshifting and downshifting which leads to overheating eventually). Other solutions are an extra fan in front of the transmission cooler, or even a bigger transmission cooler itself. Now it is wintertime and overheating should not be occurring but i just wanted to add it as potential improvement points. Take it easy and learn the basics on your first couple of drives. Talk to some of our other Pajero owners like @Mehmet Volga @AnishS @Daniel Rodas @Yousef Alimadadi and many others who can share their experience and tips. See you soon in the sand !

I have always left it uncovered in Dubai. Not sure about other Emirates but was never stopped because of it. For RTA passing they will need to be covered (masking tape is fine).

We keep an eye out for that, and explain them that they need to waitlist themselves.

Best 4x4 cars under 10K and 20K dhs in UAE
Frederic replied to Gaurav's topic in Offroad General Discussion
That's a funny story: As a European (who had never seen an FJ Cruiser), i moved to Saudi Arabia in 2012 and found this wonderful blue FJ which was an American Import with a bit of miles on it, but zero offroading history. On the first weekend i took it into some sandy area (not really dunes) and though i was deflated, the car got stuck in minutes. Soon, some locals approached me and tried to get the car out (blip blip was unknown to me back then..) And suddenly one of the locals got inside the car and asked "where is the 4H lever" to which i had to admit this car did not had it and i assumed this was because the FJ was permanent 4x4. Long story short: my nice Blue FJ was a 4x2 model (yes not a 4x4). 😅 Kept it anyways as during that time i was not in a club and only went camping and BBQ ing with friends on nearby flat areas with gentle dunes, so with some deflation i could manage. Sold it in 2014 as i moved back to Europe for a year, and only came back to Middle East in end of 2015 and bought my little Pajero in 2017 here in Dubai.- 102 replies
