  1. now is not the time to sell a car in my opinion. Keep rolling it and take it easy on her, and give it the maintenance it needs/requires. You should be easily getting another 120kms out of it.
  2. Having a basic compass in the car is also a recommended. In case you think you are lost in the desert, try to find the highest dune nearby and walk to the top. In Dubai or Sharjah MOSTPROBABLY you'll see a road or pylons nearby that you can use to navigate towards.
  3. Congrats @Junaid Sayeed looking forward seeing you in one my convoys soon !
  4. Oh yes, I’m a specialist in replacing the air freshener tree.
  5. All shall be revealed in above tutorial 😜
  6. Hi @Mohamed Seidam I have moved @Desert Dweller to manage as she will be supporting the drive, this has created an extra space so you have been added. See you on Friday !
  7. no need for diff locks buddy.
  8. @Shiju Manuel seems you have surprised many guys with your Pajero Congrats buddy you always kept a positive spirit, listened to the instructions, and i am sure you will keep moving forward quickly !
  9. Realized we did that track for 80% last month during noon time. It was 47°C we had to reverse the big Pajero as it was starting to overheat. Our plan was to make another attempt coming winter. https://www.relive.cc/view/vMv8VejdRN6
  10. Hi @Shiju Manuel agree with you, as it's more tricky to do it yourselves on your bumper because your bumper is more recent (facelift) model. Nicely done !

  13. OMG i had been looking at that fuse but could not see through it because of yellow fading, walked back to my car to take my voltmeter, but around that time we tried with the booster cable and i forgot to measure out that fuse. Anyways i am looking forward seeing you again soon with your new offroad toy ! Keep us posted !
  14. On @Vanessa8580 her Pajero that has the same 2008 front bumper as yours, we trimmed the bumper ourselves with a Stanley knife along the orange line. Make 4-5 cuts along the line and the whole bottom part will come off. On the rearside there are a few small bolts to be removed, but all in all this takes max 45 mins and does not cost anything
  15. Nice ! Thanks for sharing !

  18. Drive Report While deflating nearby the Murquab mosque I realized that the last time I was here, we had to pull out a vehicle with a 4x4 issue. Little did I know that yesterday this was the second time Murquab would bite us in the buttocks. We started off wonderfully with the whole convoy easily following and digesting the amazing dune formations on left side of the farm and the smaller technical areas, scattered with barb wire and bushes. Once we reached Tawi Masayati I heard a request from @Biju Abdul that there was an issue with @Ahmed Farghaly his Xterra and asked me to come back to have a look. Upon arrival I saw the Xterra was nicely planted on a sideslope as the engine had cut off without any reason. Knowing that towing back a dead car over this technical terrain was our last resort, we first tried whatever we could to diagnose the car and get it to restart but to no avail. The immobilizer still kept thinking we were trying to steal the car and could not get restarted, even with @Desert Dweller her power booster. With the setting sun, we decided to pull the car out and tow it back into Murquab town, which needed the recce of @Desert Dweller and @Foxtrot Oscar to find clean baby tracks that would make it doable for me to take and get it done safely. Upon my request they scouted the area brilliantly and i thank them both on my knees for rising to this occasion and this made the rescue attempt successful. During the few times we needed some tugs and shoveling several members jumped out with shovels, and helped out with attaching the rope. A fantastic team made such a difference yesterday. Given the fact that we all were so hungry to explore this area, I will schedule the same drive next week same time same channel 😉. I will add your names to the RSVP. Please confirm on Sunday if you guys can all make it. Free spots will be kept open for others to sign up. @Ahmed Farghaly i hope the black beauty finally caves in and roars again soon ! All the best ! @Anish S thx for the great second lead and overall help. @Biju Abdul wonderful sweep duties and well communicated ! See you guys soon back in the sand !
  19. Thanks for informing, we’ve heard that from some members. Take care and see you next week !
  20. Hi @Roopesh babu as you are an Absolute Newbie you will need to join an Absolute Newbie drive first. You were signed up on that one this morning but did not show up.
  21. DRIVE REPORT Absolute Newbie drive with Absolute Perfect Team ! Seeing all these new faces is an amazing thing. Seeing their smiles after the drive is even better ! @Alexander Alcala brought his mighty Black Rubicon straight from Chile, and it was clear he has gone offroad before. You did an amazing second lead, and thanks for your patience and good communication throughout the drive. Love to see you coming back for more ! @Haarun Baig was just like most of the convoy putting his first steps in the sand, and i fully understand that it can feel a bit scary at first, but soon you'll be gliding that Pajero through the dunes like it's nothing. Throughout your few refusals you remained calm and followed the instructions precisely. Well done! @SyedObaid Your Pajero was having fun and i hope you and your passenger had fun too ! You used the diff lock a few times during the self recovery and were always able to get yourself out of the situation ! @jose Shanu drove with a smile the whole morning that could be seen from far away, you controlled your Prado very well and i hope your perception about offroading is positive and i agree offroading is an absolute confidence builder. @Malachy McGrogan with the mighty F-150 drove like he was on a picnic. Never stressed, no struggled, and just the right amount of power at the exact right time. Very impressed ! @Shyam Karat with the red beast is finding his way in this terrain, and soon you will unleash the full power after every drive. Well done ! @Piotr Kolodziej your enthusiasm is second to none, i loved your attitude from the start, willingness to learn, and the smile on your face after that amazing self recovery that took some time, patience, and restraint. You drove really well and would love to see that enthusiasm again the next weeks ! @Abdallah Rachidi Alaoui your Wrangler had a bit of a mind of its own, but you completely unleashed her once you found the right gears. Very well done ! @PN1207 was put at the back of the convoy in front of my trusty sweep @Brette, so they could share some hints/tricks about the WK2. You did really well today ! I want to thank all of you for the patience while dealing with the refusals. As i mentioned this is a teamsport and we all go out together and look after each other. @Brette was as always superb in his sweeping duties and the perfect support on my drive. Moving forward you all will be joining the Newbie drives and not an Absolute Newbie drive. Drives are announced every Sunday at 11 am, and they go live on Sunday at 7 pm. Due to the high demand, these drives get full in about 10 minutes, so please be online at 7 pm to book your spot. For the next drives, please bring along a deflator, pressure gauge, flag and radio as a minimum. Learn to deflate your tires and checking them precisely Learn to fix a flag on your car Learn to program and fully charge your radio Also like I mentioned during the debriefing, join the Carnity Whatsapp Drive Notification to get the latest updates on the drives, so that you can RSVP on time for the next weekend's drive. Please have a look at below topic which describes the tools needed for every level: Please have a look at below grading structure that explains various off-road levels: See you next weekend on the sand. Till then take care and drive safe. Did not attend the drive: @Farook Veettil @Krishnakumar @Roopesh babu
