When you arrive you can deflate to 13-14psi for normal tyres, and 11-12psi for offroad tyres. Melenany will be our centre forward to keep an eye out for everyone and assist where needed over the radio, while Jeepie will be our sweep to make sure the convoy is moving and stays together. PS we will be exiting nearby Last Exit ADNOC, but the compressor is out of service. Please bring your own compressor, otherwise you will need to drive to the ENOC 14kms further down the road. Fighting gravity is already the first thing, but then we see him reversing full throttle, which makes me think this driver really has to learn to control his vehicle.

It all depends on the material used: -4mm mild steel (not recommended due to corrosion), or 4mm stainless steel is pretty good -if you go for aluminum, go for 8 or 10mm. Make sure the skid plate / bash plate has holes to allow for engine cooling, or your car might be overheating a lot more.

Agree. If you would be living in Africa and spending 9 hours per day driving on a sandy track the snorkel would definitely be useful.

Hi @Rizwan Waheed you see the snorkel often on overlanding vehicles, where i think for most it's more of a optical thing (looks more rugged) than a functional item. Or when crossing water streams, which we are not really doing here. The snorkel would be useful if you are crossing deserts and driving for very long distances where you are not able to stop to clean out your air filter regularly. As the suction point is sitting higher it will suck in "cleaner" and cooler air. Performance wise i do not believe this will do much.

The biggest THANKS goes to all our Carnity members who are giving me the pleasure to drive together. This has been a challenging year for many people, but i still look forward to every drive to see the smiling faces behind the masks and the joy of leaving the daily stress behind us for a few hours to enjoy this amazing passion called "offroading". From the initial moment i joined Carnity, my plan was to learn the basics of offroading and then use these skills in my camping trips with friends in UAE and Oman, as we were always getting stuck and thought we knew that we were doing the right thing by deflating to 20psi. I decided to stick around because thanks to Carnity i found a new family and to this day it has been one of the best decisions i ever made. I am extremely fortunate to have seen the club growing so fast thanks to the motivation and hard work of so many members. The aim has always been to create a community of likeminded souls that share the same passion to explore the UAE deserts in a safe way. I hope to be 'sticking' around for a long time and meet thousands more new members !

Hi @Jon M i am glad to hear you like the technical aspects involved in the drive. As you will notice we try to make every drive a bit different, and every trip lead has his own flavor of doing things. Once you have completed your 5 Newbie level drives you can apply for the online promotion to Fewbie level by clicking below banner: Also have a look at the grading structure we have implemented to ensure every member can understand the transparent system we have put in place, and to create a road map. In short, Newbie level drives will make you feel comfortable in sand driving, while Fewbie level is more focused on a bit higher pace, different dune approaches, and to learn more on self-recovery. Intermediate level drives are again bumping up the level and will involve learning to recover others. From that moment on your cooperation and helping out others in the drives will be essential for further growth and will distinguish you as a "complete" offroader.

Hi @Probir Mukherjee The first thing you will need is a police report, which you can get from the nearest Police station. Once you have that paper, you can submit it to your insurance for a claim. Depending on the type of insurance you have (third party, or full comprehensive with offroad cover) you can make a claim. As the Landcruiser bumpers are quite low, it could help to get a bashplate / skidplate installed, which is a 8mm or 10mm aluminum plate that you can mount underneath the vehicle and that is folded upwards on the front. In the next occurance you would make a nosedive this one will take the impact.
