  1. Drive Report There’s a reason I give up my free time and volunteer to take a crowd of people I don’t know from Adam out into the desert . Today’s drive was that reason! Give yourselves a massive pat on the back because by goodness did you earn your desert stripes today with a side sloping fiesta in Mahafiz! 👏 We started off gradually and slowly but surely, every single driver, upped their game, time and time again until you were pulling the most audacious side slopes, I think we saw one fishtail the whole day!!! What was the most pleasing aspect for me personally is that you all self recovered brilliantly, and steered down when you had to! @Laura Conesa you started off a bit tentatively, as to be expected on a first Newbie drive, but I think the self recovery really helped your confidence and you didn't look back, Great job. @Murad Hamedgreat drive today, flawless, took everything in your stride and handled your car well, Clearly nor your first time in the sand my friend, Nice driving. @karim hamandiAnother who had a flawless drive, you were getting used to your car's power too. Really nice driving. @Yerem DavtyanI'm glad you managed to join us, it was great to see you handle the 96 Tahoe out there, Well done. @Han Very nice driving my friend, one slightly sticky moment but you responded and self recovered well. Well done! @Sree - FortunerExcellent drive Sree, another who had a flawless drive and self recovered. @Mo.A pleasure driving with you, you;;re really handling the jeep well and with finesse too. Well done @Andrew McCarthyYou don't half put that Pajero through its paces mate. Great driving! Oh and your first tug in the desert too. Lucky you @SivakumarSiva, you are my star of the day, What an absolute pleasure it was to watch you grow in confidence as the drive progressed. Your self-recovery on the side slope was excellent, and you didn't need to do it again because the fear was gone and you knew the momentum would carry you. Honestly, what a champion! Love it! @Siddharth guptaMy quiet champion! Sitting there at the back, floating that leviathan of yours around those dunes without breaking a sweat and on your second drive!! What a drive my friend, well done! A massive thank you to my excellent support today, @Archibald Jurdi, great to see you mate after such a long time and thanks for the excellent 2nd lead. @Alex Raptorwho was sweeping at the back, offering advice and pulling it out as he loves to do in the desert , My De Facto Centre forward @Danish Mohammad, an absolute pleasure to drive with you again, and a wonderful job done in support, thank you, and @Janarthanmy fellow xman ! Great to have you as the flying sweep! Finally thank you to all of you for being such an utterly fantastic convoy, for listening to my instructions, following them and indulging me in one of my favourite things. Until our next adventure 😎

  5. @Nadeem Ansarican you make it? I know it's short notice but the RSVP has changed rapidly many with less than 24hrs notice . If you can then I'll add you to the convoy.
  6. Well that thinned out nicely, the train now resembles a sleek machine of a convoy! Here's what you can expect: Red sands, tall climbs, and lots of practice on some safe, playable areas. This is a Newbie's dream area as the dunes are challenging but not insurmountable. We will be able to stop and have demo's of small side slopes that will test your new found skills. We usually head to the majestic Fossil Rock but those tourist types have taken over the area so it is a no go zone. Those of you who have RSVPd, please please please announce now if you can't make it so that I can draft one in from the waitlist My proposed revised FINAL convoy is as follows: We meet at 2pm https://goo.gl/maps/PLc9YuWMhqKWShaJ9 We are using Radio Channel 2 (two) 446.031 Driver Car Rank Position @Foxtrot Oscar Xterra Marshal Lead @Archibald Jurdi TJ IM 2nd Lead @Laura Conesa Cherokee Newbie 3rd @Murad Hamed Y61 Newbie 4th @karim hamandi @Yerem Davtyan Xterra (2020) Tahoe Newbie Newbie 5th 6th @Han Jimmy Newbie 7th @Danish Mohammad SWB Pajoro IM CF @Sree - Fortuner Fortuner Newbie 9th @Mo. 7. Haha ! There will be more opportunities I’m sure; enjoy the dive ! Thanks for letting me know, next time
  8. 100% I had the Montero Sport and started my off road adventures in that , loved it , very comfortable but doesn’t have the power of the X. The Xterra is just a dream, look after it well and you can drive the hell out of it in the sand . it’s also my daily commute car . The only upgrades I have are a skid plate and apple car play system . ps nice pic of the Rebelle X @Thomas Varghese
  9. I've extended the convoy to allow as many to have a weekend drive as possible . We have a couple of experienced drivers in there too. Should be fun
  10. Thank you so much for detailing this . I’m glad you got home safe !
  11. Oh my Faqa! You never disappoint! It had been such a long time since I had an Intermediate drive , let alone led one, and to say I was up for it is an understatement! I couldn’t wait to get out there today. We gathered on the Sabka and I wasted no time in getting into the dunes, up and over the tech stuff we went as I was salivating at the prospect of the wonderful Faqa ridges. Go fast or go home was the motto of the day as we annihilated Faqa, I don’t think there was a long-range dune we didn’t hit , we even found the infamous bowl, I do love that mad, looping little bowl of wonderfulness . It’s just so random, amongst those long-range dunes haha. We continued towards Solar and the area known to Carnity as Little Sweihan, oh what fun we had in there! We tore into every dune like a pack of marauding wolves as I searched for bigger and greater challenges , whilst maintaining a very good pace. It was great to be back out there with the you guys. Thank you so much for some excellent driving today Huge shout out to our more novice IM drivers @Zixuan Huang - Charlie and @Zed who were outstanding out there . Well done @Humayun Ghias and @Gok Krish who had flawless drives . @Ranjan Das had a very good drive. @Amir Amiri handled his truck with aplomb and @Ilya, it's always a pleasure to drive with you. Many thanks to @Arman for being a great second lead, I hope you managed to defrost. To @Looper for anchoring everything in the middle and to @Russ for sweeping up at the back. Great support as always guys Did I mention the pace? We covered 92km with 3hrs15mins of driving time BOOM! Even more impressive as we gently made our way out as I was fearful of my car going back into limp mode. Thanks again everyone for indulging me hee hee Until our next adventure 😎

  14. Good morning fellow adventurers, The weather has taken a toll on the dunes, this area famed for its razor sharp ridges and smooth bowls will be scarred with the rains and high winds of the past week or so. There will be unexpected cracks in the ridge , hardened sands that cause you to slip when you don't expect it and some high walls on ridges. All the more fun for us as we try to blast our way through it!! Bring your A game! YALLLA!!! Apologies to those on the waitlist that I cannot accommodate however at IM level 12 is the absolute Max we can have in a convoy, if we add anymore it will dilute the drive experience. 15. Drive Report It was a drive that the weather threatened, I know driving in strong winds, but these were winds capable of blowing your car off track and I had my doubts as whether it would go ahead. I was happy to get to the meeting point and assess from there. When I arrived, although visibility was poor, it was sufficient. And so we went, I asked for clear , concise comms, in such conditions it was important the airwaves were kept clear in order for me to communicate, as I knew what lay ahead. The dunes which normally beckoned us to sidey along them, and ride atop them were fraught with dangers. Massive crevices, huge craters in the most random of places, hard wet sand that is normally covered with soft sands exposed and winds that literally blew you off track. The mighty winds were no match for the strength of this convoy! Bravo! This drive had everything, tight technical dunes, long range dunes, some steep climbs and some nice crossovers. Some areas though were just no go zone and the call for @Thomas Varghesenot to follow came across the airways as I found myself in some tricky spots. I am utterly amazed at how well our first time fewbies handled it all! I don’t have enough praise for @Joseph Raju , @Markus B and @Imran Kashif who coped so well. Sure, we had the rope out a couple of times and some self recoveries, but by goodness it was hard work out there today. @KAMALIO, @Faisal Alhashimi. @Manoj Soman , @Michel Van Woudenberg and @Muhammad Qasim all continue to develop very well and showed some good technique today. Great job guys. It was also great to see an old face in @Lucky sAm for someone who hasn’t been out for some time you had a great drive! @Chinthaka Ruwan, first time I’ve had the pleasure of your company on a drive I think, easy street for you. Many many thanks to the wonderful support I received from the other IM drivers, @Thomas Varghese who did a great job at second lead, @Looper who was constantly on hand to advise on stucks and refusals, and @Pacific who kept everyone at the back safe and helped out with refusals. I can’t thank you all enough for stepping up. Finally, thanks to this wonderful convoy for being so attentive, listening to and following instruction and driving so well! I had so much fun! Until our next adventure😎
