well it's now over 48hrs, and I did go to the doctor per @Gaurav & @Srikumar's recommendation. Doc said since no vomitting, no broken ribs, no blurry vision and no pain whatsoever, she declared me fit to drive & work again 🙂 I would rather focus on the positive things and the good lucks, so here they are: alhamdulillah I managed to return home unharmed, thanks to every single one in the convoy, I pray God bless you all for your kindness. thanks to my trip marshal @Srikumar for leading the team during the incident. There were other younger blood he could direct & delegate to, but he chose to unroll his sleeves and in the process hit his head against my rear bumper (luckily it's stock fibre... imagine if it's the Y62 with 4mm steel 😱) it was good luck @Haitham Khattab pushed himself to join the drive eventhough he overslept and started driving at 5:30am. For his presence helped a lot, as we needed an Arabic speaker to translate and bridge the communication with the police. i had a nice recovery driver who shared me his Naan & vegetables lunch in short, eventhough it was an unfortunate incident, I am thankful and happy with the people who surrounded me & helped. Thanks for asking @Tom B @Rob S @ASAD. , not my first rollover with perfect landing on all 4 wheels, so the shocks were subdued a bit 😅, but nevertheless humbles and amazes me how we're given second..eh i mean... fourth chance. My wife reminded to watch the latest Puss in the Boots movie 😂 And this is the finale good news: only Windshield (500dhs second-hand) + Front Right Fender (300dhs second-hand) + Front Right Passenger Door (300dhs second-hand) are badly damaged. According to the Denting Specialist, the roof can be fixed without replacing the whole roof. I'll probably start a thread on the LC 10K bring-to-life restoration project 😄

that's the difference between Torque and Horsepower bro, once your torque is maximized, to move the car faster you need the wheels to spin faster, which can only be done with higher gears. When you're climbing uphill it's best to stay 1st Gear as any upshift will actually slow you down. But when you're on a flatter surface, side-sloping or circling a bowl, it's safe to upshift without losing momentum: this will make your car run faster and u gain more momentum to cross. The balance is to get the right speed... too fast and you may crossed unintentionally (which i'm also guilty of) 😂

Hi Doc @M.Seidam, the good thing is it was an Intermediate Drive with every driver having more than 10 IM drives, so even though each driver has a different moment, everyone had that muscle & memory reflect on what to do to overcome that split-seconds situation. My notes on your 2 videos are: At time-mark 3:15:19 >> you hit the bush and started bumping up & down, though amazingly maintained 54 km/h speed to keep the momentum and correctly calculated you can still make it to the top instead of going down and re-trying. At time-mark 3:15:27 >> you started switching and the 2 photos below explain yours & @Ranjan Das's different approaches: To explain this, I will borrow from @Frederic's great article here >> https://carnity.com/forums/topic/15114-how-to-read-sand-dunes-formation-and-texture/ I've annotated Fred's diagram here: Doc @M.Seidam like he explained "there's a bit of turn when you go up" as he exited when the lip is at the start of Concave, while second lead @Ranjan Das corrected the example by going a bit further then exiting for a smoother switching. However, since the Convex side is harder than the Concave like Fred explained in his article, exiting down on the Convex side provides more traction and easier to control, just like Doc said that he made it out ok. I wish I still have my drone cos this would be an awesome footage of exiting bowl 😁

Quick Trip Report & Video Uploads of the 4 Amigos conquering Pajero Bowl 👍 Almost everyone got a refusal, starting with second lead Mr @Ranjan Das who is still getting used to his newly-rebuilt engine and stuck on the side of a soft dune. No issue, with proper instructions from Marshal and cool-head, the Jeep managed to self-recover from a sticky situation. Being at the back, I had some options to skip certain things 😂 and while waiting for @MMansoor to finish his climb & u-turn loop, I realized it's been more than 5 mins, and when I looked back, the mighty Y62 was stuck on the high side of the dune. You can check the Photo Gallery to assess the situation yourself 😅. I think this happened in the Octopus Bowl. @Imteeaz had a minor refusal going over the crest, but managed to reverse and go over the churned-up crest. Finally we arrived at the marshal... whoops I meant Pajero Bowl 😜 For this, you can see the videos below. Dr. Seidam conquering Pajero Bowl. Ranjan conquering Pajero Bowl. Imteeaz conquering Pajero Bowl. MMansoor conquering Pajero Bowl. Thank you Dr. @M.Seidam for pushing the drive even with just 4 people. It was well worth it 👍

@Warren Flay sad to see the cat-less Gajero leaving, but wish you all the best bro! Man, I wish I could drive that 6.2 Hellcat SRT engine, but hopefully you'll find a suitable buyer for both cars 🤞

@Arsalan Ehsan you need to trace the end of the sensor cable I highlighted in Yellow Circle Red below. Just choose one: Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left, Rear Right, no need to disconnect all 4. All ABS systems use wheel speed sensors, and if one is disconnected, the ABS error light will turn on (signaling that ABS cannot function properly. What @Lawrence_Chehimi and @Rawad may be correct too, when my Y62 rolled-over, no air bags (front or side) were deployed... although that made me think whether my Y62 was made in DragonMart.. ( @Srikumar's poke at my fake Patrol 😂 )

What's the deal with the balloon tyres?
Zed replied to Alphin Aloor's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
@Alphin Aloor my friend installed it for his Land Cruiser, and I quote his feedback verbatim "no performance, no grip, more popouts" + "it's only for the looks" 😂 You can see his Instagram post and message him for more feedbacks. At the end of video, you can see the tires are being subjected to some funky machineries that he said "removed vibrations above 100km/h" 😅 >> https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cm3cuXIhQsK/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link- 5 replies

This sounds like a fun drive @Frederic, with lots of technical terrain to cover. If it was in the afternoon, I could join this, but alas @M.Seidam's Pajero Bowl invite sounds like a better terrain to test my rebuilt engine 😅 Please plan for a repeat next time, weather in Abu Dhabi is chilly good nowadays ❄️

Gaurav Soni has been promoted to Marshal level
Zed replied to Gaurav's topic in Off-Road Club's Announcements
Mabrook Marshal @GauravSoni , so when is the Celebration Drive? Gotta repeat that Al Quaa Drive again bro 😁🔥 -
Dear marshal @JeromeFJ, apologies I too have withdrawn from this drive. My overlanding trip to Saudi has been moved to Sunday early morning, so Saturday I will need to rest for the next day's 12-hours drive to Riyadh. I will still monitor whenever you're leading another 80km drive though, wish you all the fun & adventure tomorrow 😊 you've already got good support from @Looper, @Waqas Parvezand @Imran Kashif👍
