  3. Super thrilling drive today evening, well done and thank you @Shamil, @Srikumar and @Desert Dweller for taking the whole convoy through a drive which was filled with fun and adrenaline. Again a "hot" drive in the blazing summer 🌞, some pictures uploaded in gallery.
  4. Hi @Emmanuel, this will be my first desert ride (on Friday this week)as the car was in garage for maintenance and over heating , all fixed and tested now.🙂
  5. Definitely I will tell you as I am not sure if we are supposed to discuss garage names here. @Srikumar I was under the impression that anything 6 mm or more was better and hence got then fixed as I felt they were pretty solid to take the brunt as the radiator was very low in xterra. Awaiting opinions from other xterra owners here , which will help others who are planning to put a skid plate on their xterra.
  6. @Janarthan I have put a similar skid plate 10 mm and it feels solid. Different garages charge between 800 to 1000 max. So check with other garages or fabricators who can do it at a good price for you.
  7. Congratulations and Best wishes @Shamil...was just wondering we have quite a few xterra in this drive 1. @Shamil 2. @Kalahari 3. @Desert Dweller 4. Mine - finally ready for the drive and I am eager to see how it fares Anyone else is driving xterra in this drive? sorry for missing out .
  8. Happy birthday @Jeepie . God bless you
  9. Congratulations @Shadab Khan. Happy and safe motoring. See you soon somewhere on the "hot" sand!
  10. @Rahimdad I meant healthy competition to drive better off road on sand. What you said is absolutely right
  11. Hahaha... @Gaurav you are absolutely right with regards to family advise. This is where @Wrangeld and @Jeepie are blessed to come to drives together and compliment/compete with each other. @Shadab Khan good luck with your purchase.
  12. I am wondering how will extending a warranty help for an offroad car?. I mean most of the things which will bear the brunt are probably not covered in warranty.( except the transmission and engine) I am not sure if I have the correct info here , may be @Gaurav, @Rahimdad, @Srikumar , @Frederic, @desertdude and @Barry can chip in with their suggestions
  13. In my humble opinion it is still a lot of money for a 2nd car. Please bear in mind the additional expenses to get it serviced, replacing bushes/plates/filters .If you are not happy and just in case want to resell it, then keep in mind the depreciation again after all the expenses. Choose one which doesn't bite you too much 😜 For a capable off roader without biting a lot of money , please have a look at the advise on carnity I was in a similar situation , then finally decided after lot of discussion here, with friends and with family to go in for a 2nd car for off road. Bought a pretty well maintained X Terra after preliminary checks which was okay. Then in few weeks it was overheating for which different mechanics gave all sorts of advise without coming to a cause. Since 3 weeks I have taken the car to a few garages , and finally it is now hopefully ready for the desert...acknowledgements and a detailed post will come in soon for the people from Carnity who helped and guided me. I mean this is always expected when you buy a used car and be ready to make few pit stops initially.
  14. congratulations @Brette. Silent savior in a Black stallion! Well done
  15. congratulations @Wrangeld. Well done to both of you together with @Jeepie
