  1. Well done @Jeepie and @Wrangeld. Great to see and know your progress.
  2. @Frederic thank you for your encouraging words, a wonderful lead today and yes I am getting better at wriggling my patrol on soft sand 🤣... had to use 4L few times today to get out of really soft sand which made the car to heat up ...but all under control. @Anish S thanks for your comment ... you were driving your pajero very well... could not match the same speed and approach sometimes owing to a different vehicle (big fat patrol 😉) driven by me. Thank you @Brette for guiding me out of a refusal and more with other cars at the back . All in all a good "hot" drive by everyone. Few pictures uploaded in gallery.Stay safe everyone
  3. Well its your decision finally which you have to stand by. Choose what suits your family first , better not to bring it for offroading as it will get abused and dirty over time. If you can balance out the equation considering the expenses for two cars (insurance/registration/some upgrades) then go for it. If you decide to buy a cheaper used 4by4 car exclusive for offroading then bear in mind that it will need time and money ( for change of oils/bushes/mounts/tyres etc) to get it sand/off road worthy!
  4. ABS kill requires the fuse to be removed from the fuse box in xterra (as per the map) which dont have ABS switch on dash, but it tends to light up some warning signs on dash. Best is to install a ABS kill switch which many garages do (about 50 to 100AED )considering that you will be driving it off road frequently.
  5. If you ask me keep your traverse for your regular drive as it is still under warranty. Spend about max 20k AED on a 2nd car for offroading/overland/camping ( used car like Jeep wrangler/Xterra/Pathfinder/FJ - if you find one). Keep all the remaining money safe with you for your other needs
  6. Congratulations @Desert Dweller. Is it new name for Jamy??🤔
  7. I still dont understand why people have to be warned with penalty /fine while all this is being done for their own safety and well being! Stay safe all of you 🙏😷
  8. Quite a "fewbie"ish newbie drive at Qudra today morning. Well directed by @Srikumar super supported by @Ale Vallecchi and @sertac. Nice learning doing a few Crest crossing and the difficulty gradually increasing was getting more fun with very few refusals and tugs. It is indeed getting very hot in the desert once it gets over 9am, as we are getting into the peak summer months. Pictures uploaded in gallery
