  4. @Frederic totally agree with you on "starting a hobby is not a cheap thing". I am already being taken to task at home for spending on all the off road stuff. Some of which I had to hide from my better half . :-))
  5. @Nayan ShenaiI ordered baofeng uv 5r from amazon .( along with some other items I needed which were not available on amazon ae)Link below, and they ship to Dubai. Very minimal price difference I think https://www.amazon.com/BaoFeng-UV-5R-Dual-Radio-Black/dp/B007H4VT7A/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=baofeng+uv5r&qid=1583216501&sr=8-3
  6. Thanks @Nayan Shenai but sorry I already ordered for myself from Amazon (probably a bit cheaper).
  7. Hi @Jorge Stepniak Felippe. For flag you have to buy the detachable AOR one (around 350 AED including the suction cup) or go for some garage to fix a socket and use a fishing rod for the flag . I checked and went in for the AOR because it is detachable , good quality and you dont have to do anything with the body. Available on amazon and at Ramy automotive Best wishes
  8. I just ordered online the basic off road equipment and radios...but I am not sure if I will be getting them by Friday. Can I still join if you allow, hopefully by the third time I should have them. Thanks in advance
  9. Thank you everyone for making it a memorable start for me in the carnity group off road drives. Thank you @Rahimdad , @Emmanuel, @Frederic , @Srikumar for mentoring all and making it a fun yet safe experience. It was a great experience to learn from you all. Frankly can't wait for the next one...let's go
  10. Hello all, Tomorrow will be my first ride , and I am excited !! Car I drive- Nissan Patrol (y62). Prior experience - about once in a month in Awir desert while camping, but very basic off roading. Tow hooks yes.
  11. Yes ...frankly there is no clear information. That's why I checked with RTA call center who advised me to check with inspectors directly at testing centers. The one at CARS testing center Diera advised me regarding the bumpers I described above, after showing him the pictures with the modifications and the material used.
