  2. @Nathan Evans thanks for the interest in joining the drive. However unfortunately and to ensure fairness to everyone we need to ensure required level is attained at time of RSVP. Hence, I will have to remove you from the drive for now. Once you have your F+ promotion you are welcome to RSVP again or if no slots add yourself to waitlist and I am hopeful we will be able to accommodate. As an alternative, I have another Fewbie drive on Sat morning which I will be happy to have you on; if the timing works for you pls RSVP.

  5. UAE summer is tough not only because of the high temperature (50+ Degrees) but also because of thick air saturated with humidity not making it easy on our cars and our lungs too. Staying hydrated at all times is a must and falcon eyes on the engine temp gauge as well as transmission temperature are all equally important. my experience with my Yukon is, the car performance will start to degrade when it gets hot even without serious moves on the gauges.. A/C blowing thick less cooled air, partially losing power at high climbs, and strong engine vibrations all start to take place randomly and intermittently while gauges still look ok. Being cautions of these behaviors gives me early indications of situation to start taking corrective actions before things to escalate requiring stopping the convoy and disappointment of fellow drivers. first actions is of course kill the A/C and rolled down my windows while partially avoiding pushing the car on high climbs. This will for sure make things better .. if situations continues and temp goes above midpoint I switch off the A/C compressor and put the temp control and fan speed to max and start enjoying the by-product of a free sauna 😂 while continuing to drive at average speed (1500-2000 rpm) immediately brings things back to normal. I haven’t modified any thing in my car (yet) including cooling and have been able to manage so far..as stated by everyone there is little that can be done when driving during the UAE hot summer specially on daytime. Very early morning or late evening drives are for sure less stress for both driver and car and plenty of these options are available during weekends and midweek too so everyone can enjoy with their own preference. Opting for easier recovery options is always a good idea where possible specially during daytime. P.S. I liked and tried Angela’s@Foxtrot Oscar idea of latched hood yesterday and it for sure helped, as stated it’s very important to make sure your latch is solid and no chance of the hood taking off 🤪

  8. I had these same issues earlier with my Yukon.. my easiest straight forward solution is kill the 🧠, while deflating I take out 4 fuses for ESC/TRC, ABS, and airbags. of course what @Shehab Alawadhi explained will still be required on high steep climbs through soft sand but my advise is to shift down to lower gear before your car loses power because if you wait for it then most probably it’s too late. So by time you will know the limits of your car in similar situations and manually take it down to a lower gear at the right moment before it it shifts up and u lose power.
  9. The 1st Carnity Extremists Pack@Ahab Shamaa, @Francois Germishuys, @Ilya, @Christian Andras, @Craig Finlayson, @Jorge Stepniak Felippe, @Kalahari, @Shaaz Sha @Tero Vallas congratulations to you all.. drive safe and enjoy every moment.
  10. Again, thanks a lot everyone for being on time this morning and how quick all cars were deflated, flags up, radios on so we started to make a move at 5:12am .. Personally I am very happy with how the drive went and how we as a team performed .. honestly I was tempted to push the pace further and extend the drive to get to Angela’s bowl but it was getting really hot so opted to safely exit on time. Few refusals and stucks all managed quite fast and efficient with the great leadership of @Emmanuel and support of @Ahab Shamaa and @Watteau. Not a single tug robe was extended but rather team shoveling exercised while complying to COVID19 rules or excellent self recovery in most occasions. Amazing driving skills and excellent teaming .. thanks again We go for every drive to enjoy something we love, release stress, connect with nature and the beautiful sceneries, but we also learn a lot during each drive and go back home with better skills and more confidence .. the drive combined different terrain ranging from side sloping high dunes, technical tight area, criss-crossing and sweeping fast through high long ranges. looking at the drive statistics you made almost 67KM in 3:45hrs with only 24mins stop time (including all breaks) that is a great performance showing how good you all drove today.. congratulations and hope you too enjoyed it as much as I did. Huge thanks to @Emmanuel for joining and supporting the drive and for all the tips and feedback. Sincere appreciation to @Ahab Shamaa @Watteau and @Lawrence_Chehimi for the amazing support extended to me and the whole convoy today.

As weather is already hot, every minute counts, so please be at the meeting point max by 5:00am with your radio on and tuned to channel 1 (446,006.25) and deflate as quick as you can to be ready to move. Convoy we will start moving by 5:10am. Convoy Order:
