  1. Indeed the JGC is a roaring beast , Ask me about it ,especially the 10 years back models , and still roars till now in , I would say , a delicate fine and sharp way with all of the electronics and sophisticated Data in it . I agree with @Rahimdad friend about why not , as long as the project within reasonable time frame and budget . I had to make a tough decision wether to make a project on my existing JGC 2015 and to make it to be Sand “ resistant “ vehicle thorough couple of mods ( ground clearance , High profile tires, spacers suspension related to its trim , under car armor to protect radiator and engine , electronic modifications to kill things you all know ...etc ) and with best hands the coast of all that was approaching a figure near 18000 . Also keep in mind the maintenance which is quite not cheep .So I took a step back and had a second thought. .... eventually I left the luxury for home and got my X with best deal and the parallel projects had almost compatible final price .However with X peace of mind ( personal opinion ) cheers 😎🚙👍
  2. All American brand vehicles have always the left side mirror flat and the right curved ( not true image ) , same in my JGC . ... for sure it’s the right way , cause that’s what side mirrors are made for to look into them after you look to the rear one first ( to get the panoramic view ) !
  3. @Rahimdad bro , I Was lucky this time . Last time I missed it at 30 sec ! wait list seems to override the original RSVP list soon as well 🤭
  4. @Wrangeld Dear Richard hearty congratulations, smooth Character and desert passionate , looking forward to drive with you once again . cheers 🌷
  5. @Frederic the transmission overheating cause you explained agree with it . When I did my first fewbie two weeks ago I was constantly on D2 and in two or three occasions on D 1 . My X never came over 95 degree on the digital transmission dash reading . How ever for the newbie last Friday I kept it on D always .
  6. @Asif Hussain looks like I will edit my X mods summary soon 😄
  7. Summary of mods of my X : 1. bash / skid plate to protect the radiator 2. High profile A/T tires ( both done before My very first drive with Carnity ) 3 . Finally today I got my ABS kill switch installed and tested 4. Stock tow hooks still in good condition , possibly after a few tug/ pull here and there ... will be needing a replacement later with either fabricated or a genuine good quality ones. last but not the least ( not considered off road specific ) .. Side mirrors Correct adjustment in my all vehicles ( no blind spots ) . cheers 😎🚙🌷
  8. You are Most welcome @Karthik Krishnakumar wish you pleasant safe drive nice pictures ! cheers😎🚙👍
  9. @Srikumar reading your trip report makes me try imagine the adventure you all guys have been through , although I am pretty sure that the reality was over imagination. Well done and God bless you and all desert enthusiasts along . Hat off ! have some rest and we wait some pictures and clips. cheers 🙏🏻🌷👍
  10. well ... it’s working fine for me . It felt bit weird at the beginning as subconsciously I was used to see the far distant view on my side mirrors but I realized it’s at the expanse of a huge blind spots right and left . Now my neck muscles are relaxed more and blearily I move the head just for more safety but it’s like a glance to my door window than a jerky head tilt ! And to my surprise even with that the object still seen in the mirror . No spots at all in all type of mirrors . cheers 🙏🏻😎🚙
  11. Hello desert wanderers As we are entering October the morning weather is turning cooler and the sand become much crispy and cracking under the wheels of our vehicles like a biscuit cracker softly grinded leaving a unique track that can be traced by the sweeper! Being in the Sweep position it felt like a Goalkeeper who should keep an eye not only on the ball "( convoy )'direction, but more to predict how and where goes to the best he can as our yard is not flat and to give relevant feedback to the captain and other players in the game. Yet and when appropriate even can pass through when needed and safe. today i was blessed by @Gauravand @Wrangeld helping keeping my "goal" clean . I would like to thank all drivers today for coming to enjoy and learn as my self always do! P.S please if someone had recorded an interesting recoveries today if i can ask kindly to post it to the thread : The greatest of recoveries so we can all share and learn. please enjoy below link
  12. 2WD in desert not a good idea may result in flip ( no synchrony with the momentum that its trajectory can’t be corrected if slowing or breaking or turning ... etc ) , pop out tires ( too low due to intended 2WD ) and many others !
  13. Actually I believe the other way around the more you slide your seat toward steering wheel the less need for turning you side mirror according to the video . For me I am having my seat max slide back and I put max the mirror can be adjusted 😉
  14. Chapter II : JGC .... we my wife and I had a dinner outside today and while in the way ( I am driving ) she asked me : did you adjust the side mirrors ?! .. I said Yes how did you know ? . She said : because I noticed that I don’t need to twist my head to watch the traffic in the mirror ( I also have this bad habit when I am driven by someone , keep watching the passenger side mirror 🤪) .i said I am glad you noticed it will be even better when you are driving . ... regarding the flat left driver side mirror needed to be adjusted slightly differently as the image is real and the coming car looks bigger consequently . Adjusted till I got the full panoramic view through the rear and side mirrors and bye bye for head forwarding, neck twisting and all theses thing that at least I and many others I believe were experiencing to compensate elimination or reducing the damn blind spot. ... no spots any more .... on the way back we switched seats and saved for her driver position 2 with the new mirror adjustment as well . wish you all good day cheers 😎👍🚙
  15. Blind spot gone 🙏🏻 I tried it this morning with my X adjusted the Side mirrors And I realized that I was driving before in a very big blind spot that I created my self and only what I got Is a neck pain! thats why in driving schools if you don’t first look in the rare mirror then the side you fail the test ! Honestly no one explained it properly . ( I have 3 drivers license from three diff countries 🤭). Regarding reverse parking no problem at all . To the contrary it’s a neck saving correct way . Let’s see the Grand Cherokee and with all the options in it what will do this afternoon .... to be continued Thank you @Emmanueland @Gaurav cheers👍🙏🏻🚙
  16. Thank you @Gaurav I have read the thread and watched the video I will see how the adjustment works in forward driving and in reverse parking in both my X ( both side mirrors concave ) and JGC ( driver flat and passenger concave ) .... to be continued cheers 🚙👍🙏🏻
  17. I was till the last drive I did , Although no steep slopes , was not convinced for the necessity to kill the ABS via installing switch . However it kicked in even to the gentle breaking I felt it , instinctively downshift the gear to 2 while releasing the break paddle , controlled . If it was longer downhill and steeper non ABS breakers big reliever . I will try sort it too before next drive . It’s not bad but please don’t let it prevent you from the habit of over shoulder quick look 😉
  18. Is this offroad museum UAE? I wander if this giant machine pops out or get stuck , what we do 😎?
  19. Thank you @Chaitanya D, @Emmanuel and @Frederic for feedback me personally I am not a big fan of offroad car modifications and I wish to go completely stock . However slight modification for the purpose of our drives especially from intermediate and further up is inevitable . regarding this hydraulic jack or what ever it’s name is while I agree with the highlighted disadvantages . May be can be improved by a larger surface area of the base on ground. Sand in between cylinder I think shouldn’t be a problem if good seal is there and also not to rely on this as solely to the slightest stuck. the biggest disadvantage is RTA registration. As we go in convoy and our aim Is to enjoy and learn , I believe this is an individual idea for a lone desert wanderer Who rely on his own most of the time ! 👍🚙😎
