Drive Report: We started the drive at 7 am and as soon as we entered the desert, I had a pop-out. After a quick fix we started only to find lush vegetation in the desert. It was more like driving on a riverbed than in the desert. I drove in this area many times last year and this very specific track with @Kailas and it was an incredibly fun experience, and while I did expect a little bit of vegetation in the beginning, but it was supposed to be nice medium size dunes thereafter, but the terrian has changed a lot since then, and there is this layer of green grass everywhere. Suppose this is artificially done as the authorities try to protect the power generation area from sand from the desert. Alas we will miss this area in the future. We took a short break halfway through the drive and found ourselves engaged in two groups, consisting of Jeep and non-Jeep drivers engaging in discussions on living with our cars, car mods and what not. After a while, we continued our journey, and at one point, it seemed like we were scraping to the bottom of the desert. However, we picked up the pace and enjoyed playing in the long but small dunes, crisscrossing our way through them. As we entered the final sector of our drive, we finally saw some taller dunes compraed to what we have done till now and with beautiful sand, obviously we couldn't wait to play there. Unfortunately, Islam's car overheated, so we took a break for the car to cool down and then we were back on track to exit the drive on time. We exited the desert around 11 am, and I must say, the drive was a remarkable experience. I want to thank @Juan R, @Rk ram, @george charbel, @Rajat Verma, @Sunil Mathew, @Daniel Rodas who participated in the drive and hope to see you all soon again for another thrilling adventure in the desert. I would like to thank @Kailas, @Islam Soliman & @DP1011 for their incredible support throughout the drive.

Jeep Trading Enterprises VS Jeepers Edition
Looper replied to Vijaya Kumar Doppa's topic in Jeep Wrangler Forum in UAE
YOLO, if you are into getting a car with 35 inch tires more than anything, just do it. We would advise more from our point of view, but ultimately your decision lies on what you desire. You don’t want to have a buyers remorse as soon as you get your car. Because you have to live with it for years perhaps. -

Jeep Trading Enterprises VS Jeepers Edition
Looper replied to Vijaya Kumar Doppa's topic in Jeep Wrangler Forum in UAE
When you buy Jeepers Edition you lose your choice of parts if it is a pure pre-built, but you can preconfigure the stuff you want and order the configuration. Either way you are buying many upgrades you might not need. Another thing to consider is that you are paying for all the upgrades upfront, while it will be cheaper if you are sure about getting those upgrades and you want them. but if you are not sure then that is a current cashflow that you can spread over many many months even years. My guess is that they buy Jeeps at bulk and at a wholesale price so the overall vehicle with the upgrades will be cheaper compared to the sum of parts if you are going to buy them on your own. But if the off-roading bug has not bitten you, then consider carefully if you want all that stuff. Jeepers Edition will definitely work for you if you are looking to buy a beefy & juiced up desert ready Jeep, nothing much to bother about anymore. Having said that if you are asking here then... maybe, you are not sure, and in that case, I would again suggest that you go for Jeep directly and then make the modifications as you progress over the months based on what works for you. I won't recommend Jeepers for first-time buyers & if you are new to the off-roading community. In Carnity, we respect and value the essence of stock cars and the skill that is needed to drive them. We try not to break any car because safety is the prime objective here. A Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is more than just "good enough" for most to reach Intermediate Level in this club before you want to do any upgrades. The emphasis is on want and not need. All that you need is the basic recovery stuff, and you are good to go for years to do weekly drives.- 29 replies

@Juan R, @Rajat Verma, @DanielN, @Daniel Rodas, @Gok Krish, @Rk ram, @Andrei S, @george charbel, @Sunil Mathew, @Bashar Beasha Hope everyone is as excited about the drive as I am. As we are going about planning for the drive, request you to please check your calendars for any important commitments that you are ignoring to join the drive (I do often) and please confirm on the drive post by tomorrow afternoon. Also do set your morning alarms properly so that you don't miss the most difficult part of the drive - waking up early and on time. @Misha Puskar You are still on the waitlist and there could be a late opening. So please check your availability and confirm. This will be your second drive for the week, but the first one if you happen to join.

The only issue with 285 upgrade will be, the speedometer will be slightly off. @Kailas never got his done. I did mine, but I could have done with the Tazer JL (I bought it later). They are scaring you with the warranty, as this process is a grand in billing for them. edit: I did not do the software flash immediately and did it later about one/two services after the upgrades. I did it due to my OCD, as in the back of my mind the KM reading is not right and as a result I couldn’t sleep properly in most nights.

Off-Road GPS Apps: MotionX vs Gaia Review
Looper replied to Frederic's topic in Off-Road Club's Discussions
Any reason I have two versions in my Gaia. One is same as the one on the ESRI website and quite details and other is low res (see the previous two comparison posts). Does Gaia Premium alos provide an ESRI version which is slightly low res? See these comparisons on Phone: -

And after 4L to 4H as well. And make sure that you do it when the car is in 4H. I use tazer JL it retains ESP off as well as kills ABS. https://carnity.com/forums/topic/17975-my-review-of-tazer-jl-mini

Good to see you @Imteeaz in the Support Team buddy. I remember asking you not long ago why you are not in the support team already. You always came forward to shadow support drives - now you are formalizing it. Welcome to the team and looking forward to many many more drives with you. -
