  1. Nice one doc!!! @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler you are christened with a new name!! Deepak sandwich!!! 😂😂😂
  2. Drive report: Cool morning… with bunch of cool drivers! After the initial struggle of getting to the starting point for a couple of cars… we had our quick briefing and were rolling at 5.40 am. We did a couple to side sloping and cross cross to get inside the dunes for the amazing view of the rising sun on the desert horizon. here we did a quick recap of the essential for slip face climbing. we then headed in the general direction towards lisaili finding slip faces to get the feel of car climbing on the soft slip faces…we drove for about an hour when we had our first refusal which was quickly sorted by @Kailas… we attempted some high slip face climbs on the ridges and convoy gained confidence as we zoomed pass long range dunes see- sawing on the soft and hard faces… halfway towards the lisaili long range dunes I decided to circle back to the starting point having about 1.5 hours for the drive… at this time, we had a couple of refusals and stuck which was again very well managed by kailas… having a Marshal as support has its own perks! as we progressed on the small technical patch, I got caught in a soft patch and bellied out requiring a couple of tugs from Deepak to get me out! Driver fatigue started to kick in with stucks during cross crosses.. shoveling was the key to get out of the situation until it became too hot in direct sun.. we eventually made our way towards the exit and all were out by 9.30 am. @Jaro Tuzinsky you did well for your first 2nd lead and m sure u got a new perspective of your car! @Sunny84 u did well to chase the two pajero’s and drove well! Refusals are how me learn and progress… @Dinesh Kumar A Getting stuck is part of the game and I believe it’s mostly the fatigue that kicked in.. you drove brilliantly! @Zulfikhar Naiyar as I said during our post drive chat… u need to spend some more time with your X on the dunes to get to know her a little more! 😂 well driven! No radio callouts from @Ignacio Quindós @Tareck @takeshi sobue meant u breezed through the terrain and had fun! thanks @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler for the shovels and tugs.. well done.. thanks @Kailas for joining the drive and handling the situations at the back!! See you soon in sand!!

  4. Hi @Simon Dawood is that whisking sound coming during idle? Did u open the hood and try to identify the tentative location? the sound typically comes due to a leak in the intake … vaccum sound… I used to have a whistling sound which was identified as a leak in the intake … that can severely damage the engine as some sand can get into the engine… get is checked thoroughly …
  5. Congratulations brother!! @Rizwanm2 … keep inspiring and have fun exploring the dunes!!!

  7. Dear Dune Surfers, You slip - you Skip! This drive is the Third edition of the Skill Drive Series which had been posted in previous weeks for Ridge riding, criss cross and Technical terrain navigation, and Side Sloping As the names suggest, we would be focusing on the skills of Slip face climbing - attacking the dune from slip face during this drive. Every dune has a windward side and a slipface. A dunes windward side is the side where the wind is blowing and pushing material up. A dunes slip face is simply the side without wind. A slipface is usually smoother than a dunes windward side. The slip face are the softest part of the dune as the sand in not compressed ( pushed into) as there is no wind pressure. These slip faces usually have a high angle of attack ( between 30 to 35 Degrees) which makes it challenging and Fun to drive on. I always go back to watch this video as it is one of the most important and well explained ones available on Your tube: Make sure you come with a full tank, Car in good conditions, recovery gear for this level (Radio, Flag, Deflator, Compressor, Kinetic rope and Soft shackles). Recovery points should be checked and in good conditions. It is preferable for the cars to have a front bash plate (6mm or more) to keep the radiator protected Let us know If your vehicle is lifted more than 4 inch of OEM stock height as your 4x4 center of gravity will be high, and you need to factor this accordingly while doing the slip face attack. General Info This drive is organized in full compliance with the COVID19 guidelines. We expect every member that joins this drive to go through below information and and strictly follow these guidelines in order not to jeopardize someone's health, and to ensure we can keep organizing these drives safely. 8. Its not that bad indeed.. but m unable to visualize the physics of " How" the pajero ended up doing Yoga??
  9. For me JZX has an issue of leaking oil. No matter how many times I top up… make sure right screw, keep it upright while in boot.. after about 4 to 5 days, it losses oil and does not hold weight…
  10. Kudos @Karthik Raptor!!! Well done and well deserved! You have learnt to tame your beast and now it’s time to unleash it!!! Welcome to the new game and enjoy the excitement !!!
  11. Well done @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler … from your newbie drive to now an IM driver…. You grown so much and now at the epitome of the driver skills… well deserved and enjoy the new level!!!
  12. Yes indeed… one of the best areas in dubai… It’s a combination of the big dunes of Faqa and technicals of lisaili… absolute stunning.
  13. Drive report: a surprisingly cool summer morning + bunch of skilled off-roaders + untouched beauty of little sweihan dunes…we couldn’t have asked for a better combination. we started the drive around 5.40 am after a quick briefing and quickly made our way to the long ridges , riding our way to our first pit stop to catch the bright white sun rise (cloudy horizon). I particularly enjoy taking some time 10 -15 mins stop to soak in the calmness of the desert during the drive. Gives us time to connect, chat with our fellow dune surfers. Charged, we made our way towards the second set of dunes (south qudra). We had couple of re attempts , looping, refusals… however I made it clear at the start that at IM level I wouldn’t be holding the convoy unless we have a stuck and to keep the radio free! The convoy responded with brilliant coordination and drove amazingly until , on a tricky maneuver my SL Simon had to loop around forcing ASADs Prado Stuck on a soft side slope. It was nice to see him assessing the car situation, then deciding to shovel, and with muscle power of Anoop , Simon and Charlie, managed to self recover. we continued our journey to the soft Sand and deep bowls of little sweihan driving parallel to sabka, climbing slip faces and tricky ridges. we had a couple of stops to fix the Bumper on Charlie’s pathfinder. We made our way slowly towards the patch of virgin dunes , which to my surprise was an area I had never driven in all my previous drives. Here I landed on a very soft powdered sand on a slope instantly sank with full tires buried. Trying to shovel was proving futile effort. I decided to give one last try while Anwer repositioned his car for a tug. Switching on my traction with Diffs locked, and a constant gas with steering, managed to move the car and get out. Thanks for the shoveling! Finally around 9 am we made our way out from the “Knifes Edge” into the long flat dunes south of solar park. Just as we decided to play around for another 15 minutes as I could see some nice high dunes, my car said enough! Black smoke and CEL!! I instantly knew that it was a Mass airflow sensor failure and quickly made our way to the innovation center exit, reaching inflation point by 9.30 am. It was a sense of achievement for the entire convoy (especially for drivers on the attempt last weekend) to see the plan to it’s conclusion. well done @Simon Dawood for an impeccable 2nd Lead handling your pajero skillfully. brilliant self recovery @ASAD. . We get better each drive! Well done @Tom B i am glad to know that you felt quite confident as the drive progressed and it was a huge improvement in your driving style as compared to our last time together. radio silence from @Anoop Nair @Mohamad Anwer @Vaibhav @Ashok chaturvedi meant you guys hopefully enjoyed the drive! You guys drive superbly. @Daniel Yang you managed to get out of tricky situations very well! Well done. a big thankyou to @Hisham Masaadfor anchoring in the center and @Zixuan Huang - Charlie for sweeping. I hope you can find a solution for your bumper! See you all soon !!
  14. Dear dune surfers! I hope all is set for tomorrow morning and I expect all signed up to join the drive.. we will be ready to move by 5.20 pm and spend some time watching the rising sun and then head towards the little sweihan area making our way to eventually cross “Knifes Edge” which is considered one of the difficult technical patch. please ensure your recovery gears are in good condition as each one will be responsible for recovery for the car in front and back. @hisham will be anchoring the convoy in center with @Zixuan Huang - Charlie in the sweep. All recoveries will be done under the supervision of support team. I expect all members to try self recovery without guidance on radio, unless the situation is critical as determined by the car with clear view. Convoy order is as below: we will be using radio Channel 2. see you all tomorrow!
