  1. @luis mantecon go the the EB section, and look for the Gulf JZX store. Below is a link to their website. http://www.gulf-jzxtools.com
  2. Let them try that with me and will see the scene that I will make. They can void warranty when changing your tire size from 33" to 35" or 33" to 31". But when keeping your tires at 33" they have no right, this can be escalated to Nissan Middle East and with DED.
  3. Great @Hisham Masaad congratulations for the promotion 👍👍
  4. It’s nice to have night drives during this weather, honestly the early morning drives are very exhausting for some, for example, I have to wake up at 3:30am to catch the drive this leaves me with only 2hours of sleep.
  5. Very few cars have an accurate speedometer, basically a 10% difference is considered acceptable by car manufacturers and won't really bother to calibrate it. Open waze app and compare the car's reading to that of the app. I've been driving for 8 years in Dubai following the speed shown on Waze app which is very accurate. i drive at 139 km/h on waze and I'm always way faster than every car driving on the left lane, the speedometer in my nissan will show around 148. My second car dor example reads 146 when waze app shows 139. If you drive a hyundai then you will find that the speedometer is pretty much accurate. Usually waze will show 139 and the car shows 140. The google maps speed didn't work for me, I tried it few times and was showing wrong readings. Not sure if they updated it recently but I won't trust it again.
  6. I purchased the Mia70 pro a year ago on both my cars and I'm happy with it. I got the GPS MODULE as well but after a while it stops working as the holder will expand on heat and the gps pins won't touch firmly anymore. They came up with a newer version called 70mia pro plus in which it has built in GPS. The image video quality is very decent, it also has a small battery in which it can activates automatically if somebody hits your car while parked. The first one is the most recent and advanced one recording at 4k res ( didn't try it yet). The second one is the updated version of the pro thatbI have. ( Comes with built in GPS)
  7. Congratulation guys,@Ahab Shamaa @Francois Germishuys @Ilya @Christian Andras @Craig Finlayson @Jorge Stepniak Felippe @Kalahari @Shaaz Sha@Tero Vallas
  8. @RooRzOn, I'm still driving on 35 psi, actually the pressure is related to the weight of the car and the tire profile, I read somewhere that if the tire profile is low, you need more pressure to hold the same weight. So I'm sticking to the 35 psi (cold) as now I have higher profile tires. After the drive, I inflate to 38 as the tires are hot. The car beeps one timre when it reaches 35 psi and then it beeps 2-3 times again when reaches 38.
  9. I'm looking for a drive that we don't cover many Kms, we can just go to a tough technical place even if it is 2 Km from the road. We spend two hours and return back. we can on purpose churn up the sand, and start trying our vehicles limits, finding the slowest speed to cross, trying it on different tire pressures, we can even go as low as 6 psi just to get out, in case we encountered such thing one day in desert.. maybe try to deflate from 14 to 12 then to 10 and see how much difference does it do on a certain situation. Check how the difflock can actually help and when it doesn't on your own car, and check how effective it is, some difflocks won't make any difference as they don't really lock. If we find a soft patch of sand it would be even better, where everybody gets the chance to stop and try to get out of it. I don't know there are many things that we can do and learn. Not sure if you guys are getting what I'm looking for? I've reached intermediate level and only got the chance to use the shovel twice, i won't be holding off a newbie convoy just to get stuck on purpose or just to try some of the options in my car.
  10. below link is just an example, you can forward to min 3:00 or 7:30. this channel have loads of challenges they do
  11. @N@ved @varunmehndiratta, what I'm looking for is opposite than what we do in the play area where we see how much high we can go with more momentum, this is easy just floor it before the you start the climb and once you loose momentum steer down. The things I was seeing, is stopping in a middle of a hill and climbing again, most of the times your axle won't be straight, as it is not a smooth hill. Finding soft patches and stopping in them and getting out, the main idea is to find the optimum traction, etc... there are tens of things that can challenge you. We don't do these in any drives, for example if we find a soft patch we just push more to pass it as quick as possible, or reroute.
  12. Not sure if this topic was brought up in Carnity in the past, or what the Carnity's Crew members think about it. Just wondering if we had or thought of doing a different type of Drives which are open to all levels or Fewbie levels at least and above, in which we choose a difficult spot and try to tackle it one after the other more than once, where we tend to test the capabilities of each car , trying to cross it with or without activating the diff lock, low vs high range gear, testing different tire pressures etc.. Maybe testing the effectiveness of each 4 wheel system and how each car reacts to different scenarios etc. Getting stuck on purpose and trying to get the cars out without having to worry about holding the whole convoy behind you. Usually on drives, whenever we pass through a difficult area and the sand gets churned we tend to reroute, so the chances to trying your car's and your driving capabilities aren't that high unless you are the car that got stuck. Watching youtube videos, you find a lot of interesting challenges that can be made. I'm interested to hear your thoughts about it. @Gaurav @Rahimdad, @Frederic @Srikumar
  13. Thanks @Gaurav for the feedback. @Wade Pat2, I honestly didn't try the Yokohamas, I was excited at first to put them on, but i changed my mind when a tire shop and another upgrade center told me about the weak sidewalls. Again it might not be true, as many members here use them, and Gaurav seems not having any issues till now.
  14. @GauravI searched online a bit before deciding on my new tires, and asked the advice of few shops. My preference was initially for the Geolandars but apparently the latest models of the Geolandar don't have a strong sidewall as before, I was told that they are getting damaged on the sidewalls easily. I guess @Gaurav Soni is also experiencing the same. The other thing I have noticed during our last drives, the frequent popouts on the Geolandar tires as if you are running a Bridgestone Duelers HT. If you aren't using the car much on highways then why don't you go with a Bfg ko2? It's a bit noisy but it is a great offroad tire. If your car doesn't have a great isolation and if you drive it frequently on highways then I would suggest the Michline LTX. However if the feedback I was getting on the Geolandars isn't much accurate, then it is better to go with them as they are great on sand. Let us wait and hear the feedback of the members who recently installed the Yokohamas, maybe I'm mistaken.
  15. So he changed a radiator but didn't spend an extra 70 aed to replace a thermostat? I guess the car is still overheating And wants to convince you that it is just a 70 derhams fix. Most probably it has a bad cylinder head. The other walk away is the different suspension color, meaning that it was damaged maybe by an accident or the owner was so cheap he doesn't maintain his car properly and only replaced suspension on one side using some aftermarket parts. God knows what other non genuine parts he also replaced in the past.
  16. Thanks @Fredericfor the drive, Faya never disappoints me, the sand was amazing. @Nikididn't see you taking photos, I would have smiled a bit😂. These shots are fantastic, thank you.
  17. I lost trust in mechanics many years ago, even car agencies here know nothing and cannot be trusted. Most of the times I have to tell them what to do and what to check because I had to spend some time online reading what other people did that had similar symptoms. I like to work on cars, I also help my friends resolve small issues from changing a coolant tank, changing disks, brake pads, engine mounts, shocks,etc... I tend to save a lot of money by doing these simple jobs. For example, when my mercedes had 30k on its odo, the agency wanted 4000 aed for changing the brakes!! I ended up purchasing the parts from them, and got from amazon two different types of grease (one is rubber safe to lubricate the pins and another one for lubricating the other moving parts) and a brake cleaner, I replaced all parts in my parking. Took me around an hour and half but I saved around 2000-2500 aed. I once replaced a coolant tank for a friend, got the parts from the agency for 120 aed and the coolant for 100 aed and replaced it my self then bleeded the system also was a 30 min job and saved around 1000 aed. I did same thing on an older car I had and replaced all shocks and springs. Just look online you can find tons of videos, and most of the jobs are quite easy. I have tons of stories with agencies here and back home, and some salesmen try to fool you if they think you don't have much knowledge on cars. I had a fight with Nissan few years ago over an AC compressor, they wanted to change the whole assembly but it was only a faulty clutch, they couldn't fool me on that so the salesman wanted to convince me later to do a system flush for 400 aed saying that when the compressor's clutch fails, it contaminates the system😂, so I made a scene im front of other customers and ended up getting 50-60% discount on the part and no labor charges... The worst stories are with private garages that work with insurance companies😂
  18. Thanks @Tareck, I have a kind of offroad coverage with emirates insurance but up to 500m from road. Hopefully I don't have to use it anytime. Best on the renewal I will definitely move to another company.
  19. Thanks Guys for the explanation. When my insurance is due for renewal, I'll make sure I get a clear quote and go with a reputable insurance company.
