  1. @Kailas @Anish S, thank you for the drive, both of you are very confident while leading the convoy, I enjoy driving with you guys,The terrain was nice today and we covered a lot of land in about 3.5 hours. Everybody drove well today.. Have a great weekend everybody.
  2. @Anish S, a good brand will be measured by the Gauge value. The lower the number the thicker the cable thus more current can be transferred. Don't be fooled by the current values on these cheap jumper cables, for me I had to use double cables saying 1000 amps to get that car started And I'm sure that these numbers are nonesense as they looked like they were 6-guage or 8-Guage. On the other hand, a branded cable will say it is rated for 800amp when it has a cable with 1-Ga thickness. If the quality is good a 4-Ga cable will be fine for a sedan, but for a truck or SUV it is more recommended to use 2-Ga or 1-Ga. For A large pickup 1-Ga might be needed. In the past I used to work on diesel trucks and excavators I had 0 and 00-Guage cables.
  3. I also have a mercedes and there is a note on the bonnet that warns you from jump starting another vehicle. Can't remember the exact words they use.. I guess it is fine to jump start from older or less sensitive vehicles, I always used to do it in the past with no issues...
  4. I have one that can crank an 8.0L engine, but for me more importantly is the battery capacity, as I use it to light up the LEDs for few hours after sunset when having a bbq in al Qudra... I bought it after an unpleasant experience I faced in the desert. A friend of mine volunteered to connect the LED light to his FJC, few hours later, his battery got completely drained and since both of us didn't have a decent jumper cables we couldn't start his car, so bought another shi*** jumper cables from the gas station and hooked them in parallel with the ones we had, we managed to get his car running but also ended up with an ABS light on my Y62.. Had it resolved at the agency few days later, it was just a code thrown by the ABS Module after detecting a fluctation in voltage... So for me, I would stick with the portable power bank rather than ending up With a faulty module.
  5. @Zed i believe that the Armada versions that @prajupramod is referring to are models prior to 2016 which were sold in the UAE and are different than the American Y62. below is the ones i guess he is talking about, they have a V8 engine with 320HP basically the same old V8 engine that was used on the SE Y62, (Y62 LE is 400HP)
  6. hahaa🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️, i got too excited to join the drive and forgot that I'm actually travelling on Sat morning 😃😃, sorry for that @Ale Vallecchi
  7. @Ale Vallecchi, please add me to the waitlist for 2nd drive. I already pressed on the going button, but not sure if I should do that or not as this will be my second drive...
  8. @Gaurav, I was looking for jacking points on my Y62 and found this from Nissan. The vehicle can be lifted from the cross member..
  9. Looks that the JZX is better has a low profile. Quality wise don't really know, but all are made im china anyway. AOR though is good in copying everything in the market😃
  10. @Zed the sound only came 2 days later, so most probably not from the jump but from the sand getting inside as Barry mentioned. Otherwise you would have heard it immediately if you managed to hit it somehow while landing..
  11. @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ, how much you paid for the jack? Im looking to buy the same
  12. Nice photo, how is your car running after the service?
  13. Hi Angela @Foxtrot Oscar, not sure I'm eligible to join your drive, I think I have only 4 fewbie drives... If yes please add me to your waitlist.
  14. @Jeepie, @Mehmet Volga, thank you for the drive and sorry that I had to exit early. The terrain was challenging and the sand was very soft, in which the convoy had multiple refusals starting with a very early one by me 😃 thanks to the help from the guys digging the sand out of my tires and the instructions from Richard @Wrangeld I was out in few minutes. Couple of Hours later my kids got bored and started nagging in the back, and with unfortunate water hose burst on @rajeshkumar rathod car, he had to exit out, so I decided to end my drive as well since I didn't want to loose concentration driving. Sorry again for the early exit, Kids will remain kids at the end of the day... @rajeshkumar rathod, hope that the recovery vehicle didn't take much time to reach you, hope it is just a simple fix on the car.
  15. looks like it's going to be an interesting drive with many experienced drivers. looking forward for it.
  16. Was a good advise from you guys to have the tire cleaned from inside. Guess the suspension components were absorbing the wheel's vibrations that's why I didn't feel it.
  17. Thanks @Wrangeld for the amazing drive, every week we learn something new, today i experienced a very early pop out just few minutes after the start, looking back at my dashcam video, it seems I made a very sharp left turn just before the crest. Not a good thing to do with a heavy vehicle having street tires inflated at 12-13psi!! Sometimes i get to learn the hard way😂.. Still need to go get the tire cleaned from inside although I didn't experiences any vibrations in the steering wheel on the highway... @imranaasghar81, thank you for your frequent alerts whenever you face steep bump ahead. @Nizam Deen and Richard thanks again for your efforts fixing that pop out.
  18. @Frederic, you are right, doubling the rope will only doubles its capacity, My bad, I didn't consider that the elongation/strech will also be split between the two half, thus no change in energy.. Thanks for clearing that out. It's good to have such discussions as missing one detail can completely change the outcome.
