Sit back, relax, and bring your snacks, BBQ, drinks, and share your stories and experiences of the past year with us.

Feel free to bring your friends, families and kids with their age-specific toys or games to enjoy brilliant outdoor activities.

    Please bring your own:

    • Food / Grill / Cooking and serving arrangements.
    • Drinks and Ice (of course).
    • Chairs / Mats / Camping Gear if you want to camp overnight.

    Action Plan:

    • At 7:30 PM we will have Carnity Seniors to meet and greet you at the meeting point next to the DEWA station.
    • Please engage 4x4 and deactivate traction control before entering the dirt track.
    • At 8 PM SHARP they will leave this meeting point and bring everyone inside the desert. The celebration location is only 5mins driving from the meeting point.

    Meeting Point:

E77 Jebel Ali Lahbab Road, next to the DEWA Pumping Station:

Note: this is not the same spot as last year. (construction ongoing in the area)

Bring your Walkie Talkie and tune in to Channel 1: 446.006 for communication with Marshals and Carnity senior members. If at any time you are planning to leave, you can approach any of Crew or Marshals verbally or over the radio and we can guide you back to the road.

    Camping:

you are totally free to bring your tent and camping gear, but please inform us in advance if you are planning to stay overnight.

Bring sleeping bags/extra blankets as it gets pretty cold at night.

    Fireworks:

We will be expecting to have a decent view on the Global Village, Marina, and Blue Waters Island Fireworks at midnight.

    No littering:

Please leave nothing but footsteps behind in the desert. Keep it clean. Bring plenty of garbage bags.

Bring your own BBQ, no direct fire allowed on the sand.

    Bonfire:

We will arrange a big bonfire in a suitable firepit.

    Please RSVP on below calendar

Hi all, @Ahmed Wagdy and I are at the meeting spot but wondering if our maps have misguided us

  2. Dear team! Please assist me with the following plan.

My 7 year old wants to stay up til midnight tomorrow but there’s no way I’m letting him get that late and grumpy.

I believe the first fireworks will start at 9. I will be setting my phone to show midnight at that time.

Please join me in shouting HAPPY NEW YEAR at 9 pm so I can then put the boy to sleep in the car so I can then enjoy the evening in peace!

    Dear @Jessica Lambert @Imran Asghar

I see you guys seek interest in joining DCT. Please let me know if you interested in joining my team ( the winning team 💪 😎),  I'm planning to do some practice sessions closer to the event date so we know what to expect and thorough our skills to lift the trophy

    I'm ready for practice sessions!

  4. Thank you @Looper and @Benjamin for phrasing my disaster day so positively :D And thank you to you both and @DP1011 for your fast and efficient rescues.

@Looper kindly offered to let me try my hand one more time, but from experience I know that pop outs are a plague for me- where there's one, there's more! Plus the butterfly effect as Looper pointed out. I didn't want to keep delaying what was supposed to be Faqaa *Express*, so I'm off to have those tyres refitted and that valve replaced and try again another day.

Thanks to all for their patience!

  5. Thank you so much to @Varun Mehndiratta for a really awesome day out on the sand. When I first RSVP'd and saw how strong the rest of the convoy was, I was a little worried that I would be like the little sister slowing her big brothers down 😄but thanks to all your support I was able to learn and enjoy without too much stress. Especially with @Looper behind, who I think has been forced to rescue me more times than anyone else in this club, I felt more confident 😆

As directed by our leader, I will upload the pic of my diagonal cresting incident. Don't try this at home kids, only expert cresters can manage this 😎

@Imteeaz @Santoso Marjuki @Looper I second @Varun Mehndiratta's comment on the pop out fix- F1 pit stop crews have nothing on you guys!

Definitely one of my favourite drives ever. Thanks again.

PS: I have reached out to the Prado gang for advice on the air bag issue. I wonder if I could just disable the beeping somehow so I could still just pull the fuse for the airbags. Let's see!

Hello folks - I am camping prev - overnite .... @Looper tyring to make himself available ...  more folks welcome as this probably is the last of the two or three weekends with good camping weather!

Yes I'm camping! I just need to find somewhere that I can offload and leave my rooftop tent safely before the drive, as I want to eliminate all extra weight possible.

  8. No ridge unridden! Thank you @Ale Vallecchi for a fun and safe drive, and thank you for the opportunity to try out being sweep for the first time. A somewhat technical yet fast paced drive, we had one horizontal cresting early on, twin stucks a little later (one requiring a couple of sharp tugs), a pop out, and finally some fuse issues. Lovely to have everyone working together to help each other, as is the spirit of this club. Every day is a school day on the sand!

Thanks for a fun and spirited drive yesterday @Ale Vallecchi. Couldn't think of a better way to spend a Wednesday.

Didn't take too many photos as I was busy with my thousand gear changes but I did manage to grab a couple and have uploaded them into the gallery.

You must have felt like a manic octopus! My hat goes off to you.
