The Chinese are involved in the land speed record
Derick replied to Barry's topic in General Discussions
Very good point in showing how Mitsubishi mislead the world for over a decade by sticking "winner of dakar rally" tire cover on every new Pajero, that was totally different car at every molecule stage than commercial grade crap sold. Nothing in common apart from name to boost the sales. However this Geely and Volvo story will be even bad than Mitsubishi if they start badging their vehicle after fastest land speed crap......! -

@Rahimdad I am not as young as you are to become a fan boy for any brand, but I genuinely liked this new style of Honda for its 2017 model Honda civic hatchback. It's something totally different and way too nice unlike the band wagon cars turning into either fugly styling or extreme futuristic style. Honda has adopted a sporty looks with an elegant class, something that you only gotto see in luxury car sports model like Merc or Jaguar.

Where I can sell my Used Car in UAE for good rate?
Derick replied to William Manning's topic in Advices
Sorry to say that imported cars here have lowest value. You are better off with private classified ads sale than dealers. Btw, how much you are asking?- 5 replies

What an awesome design Honda has come up in it's latest 2017 Honda Civic hatchback. Will it be available here as well? Appreciate if anyone has any information for its availability in UAE in next few months or so? In US it's costing 20,500 for 1.5 liter turbo engine delivering 174 hp (wow, what an engineering).

I have never driven in desert, can I bring my Pajero to test only, and I am ok to leave if I think I cannot continue or my Pajero is not fit for it. Feel free to decline/accept as I fully understand the value for everyone time and don't want to spoil anyone time and mood.- 16 replies

After VW cheating, now Mitsubishi news of faking their fuel mileage is kicking up storm in the market. What is wrong with these car manufacturers and why they lie and cheat consumers who is paying for their products, research, premium, pensions etc. Some real big super heavy fines should be imposed that their company should learn their lesson for the generation to come. http://www.motortrend.com/news/mitsubishi-continued-botch-fuel-economy-data-scandal-broke/

Pajero brake booster (servo) mismatch issue

I like the aatish idea most, to test in real world and see if it's work or not as theory and logics sometime doesnt match with real world requirement and pushing.- 8 replies

I have been looking for some special coolant when I had trouble with borderline overheating. Do you know from where to get this evans coolant in uae?

RSA is the best car insurance in UAE, I am with them since last 5 years and they are awesome in everything. They might be 5-10% more than average shady insurance company but worth every penny when it comes to service.

To be honest it was year back and I think it was 50/50 premixed. I bought from spare part shops in sharjah in BMW road who sells all Japanese car spare parts and they only suggested me this cheaper alternate w/o compromising the quality. I also agree with sidhan that fuel station coolant is good for top up only and not full replacement. Secondly get the HVAC checked by some AC professionals as Enoc staff skill set is very limited to oil change and inspect external issues like leaks, cracks or broken stuff only.
-
Pajero's engine cooling sytem is always on borderline hot and that's why it's highly advisable to use good coolant that keep your Pajero engine cool in this 50+ heat. I Know Pajero Dimante coolant is outrageously expensive at 90 dirhams, I found a way to switch to Nissan OEM coolant that is also red in color but comes for half the price and does the same job in keeping Pajero cool. Coolant cooling has some co-relation with AC cooling but it is not everything, before going this route get the AC compressor checked weather it has any leak or compressor is kicking fine or not....?

Porsche Mission E - Fully electric car
Derick replied to Danny's topic in Porsche General Discussion Forum in UAE
More than anything I think the electric charging station is a big killer for this car to succeed, as if city has 5 stations then its useless to own such car, as oppose to 50 stations in one city. TBH, 400 kms range is not bad at all. -
Dare to pause this Range Rover challenge.
Derick replied to nutbolt's topic in Range Rover Forum in UAE
Awesome video. Well newer engineering is always getting too complicated with many electrical and sensors involved, making it more difficult to repair than replace. -

Nice video, but useful effectiveness as who will drive this half million dirham ride in such harsh environment. May be 1 in million of rich billionaire. -
Before going for rebuild, I strongly suggest to change the gear oil and gear oil filter with OEM spec oil and filter. When I changed the gear oil once I realize how big difference it make in car shifting and how important gear oil change is. It's worth every penny.

As explained above in short: Theoretically yes it impact fuel mileage very very marginally. Practically DRL doesn't impact fuel mileage, as it's hard to notice 100 ml extra consumption in 100 Liter of fuel. I agree with Saleem, that it looks nice to drive with DRL on, and that's why it has been designed so beautifully to compliment the car looks and appeal. For 10 fils extra fuel on 100 AED tank fill-up you won't or shouldn't stop the use of DRL. My two cents.
