Frederic
Yes, we have seen the fences being installed over the last couple of months and heard rumours. Last week on our Mahafiz drive we avoided this area due to the fences, and we should stay out of it. With the amount of people littering all over the place and disturbing this area, it was bound to happen and i am in a way happy that they have fenced it off for preservation. There are plenty other areas for us to play in. 7 "Go as far as you can see; once you get there, you'll be able to see further."
munkybizness
That's an absolute shame. But I see exactly why too. Of all the drives I've been on between Dubai & Sharjah, it's one of the most scenically stunning places, but every time we've been out for a drive, it's been littered with trash. The base of Pink Rock, a few weeks ago looked like it was the scene of an overnight festival. 1
topgear
oh dear.... I have been to Fossil Rock a few times and enjoyed it each time. Good to see it fenced up for preservation. However, if it is turned into a tourist capsule hotel then I am not so sure about that from the preservation standpoint.
