Morning Newbie Desert Drive - Scenic Trails of the Three Emirates - Sharjah - 22 Oct 2023

DRIVE DESCRIPTION

This will be a gentle overlanding / desert drive throughout the various terrain Sharjah, Umm al Quwain, and RAK has to offer. Bring your camera and let's explore together !

 

We request every member that joins this drive to go through the below information and strictly follow these guidelines, etiquettes and responsibilities.

First time with Carnity Off-road Club:

• Please share your vehicle details - Make, Model, Color, and Year.
• Do you have any prior off-road experience? If yes, pls share details.
• Confirm your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks/eyelets.
• Advise if you don’t have a programable radio and safety flag.

DRIVE DETAILS

Level:  Absolute Newbie, Newbie and above

When:  22 th Oct 2023, Sunday

Meeting time:  7:00 AM - Sharp (Without any exceptions)

Meeting Point: Batayeh Farm Track: https://goo.gl/maps/wVRWfBhKKidwhzCy5

Approximate finish time: 10:30 AM approx

Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance.

What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Mandatory off-road gears: Tire deflator, tire pressure gauge, compressor, walkie-talkie radio, off-road flag, shovel, first-aid kit and fire extinguisher.

 

LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE

• This drive is limited to 12 cars only.
• If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist, once anyone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list.
• RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list.
• Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Members without RSVP will be returned back - Without any exceptions.
• Please withdraw your RSVP, if you aren't joining, so your spot can be taken by others.
• Repeated no-show members after RSVP will have their account suspended for a month.

1. Any previous offroading experience ? 

2. Are the vehicle's front and rear towpoints in good condition ?

3. Do you have an offroad-flag, pressure gauge, deflator, and programmed radio ?

If you are lacking some tools for your first drive with us, nothing to worry about as most of us carry spare tools that we can lend you for your first drive.

Very glad to join Carnity offroaders community. 

1. Couple of time ago I've been offroading, but only 2 shorts times on the Sand. So I'd rather say No. and I am here to learn on good basis from your and Marshals.
2. Yes. By the way I have a Jeep Wrangler JK 2017 2 door white a bit modified (Suspension & Shocks + Rims + AT Tires) 
3. Trying to buy the necessary kit before the weekend. Any Amazon links or good shops you advise ?

You can head over to ACE, Speedex, or any other hardware shop to get the pressure gauge, deflator tool, and a decent shovel.

For the walkie-talkie, Dragon Mart is the only quick option. If you are too far away, you can order online on https://edragonmall.com/ and you will get free delivery on anything +100AED.

Baofeng UV5R, Crony or Motorola MT777 are the most used models here in the club.

Very happy and eager to see you again after too long an absence. I swapped my Discovery sport for a BJ 40. This will be my first experience with this car in the desert. A great leap into the unknown!

Is there a possibility of organizing another convoy? I couldn't commit to this drive in time and regrettably missed it this week. There are seven members on the waitlist, and if we could arrange another convoy, we would also appreciate the chance to join. I wanted to express my regret for missing this opportunity.

Hi @Frederic I was waiting from Monday to get into the convoy from waiting list, checking everyday as this trail is something emotional and nostalgic for me as it was my first drive with Carnity and with you @Frederic couple of months back.   Every week I check the calendar, your event and was waiting for the same trail again.  Unfortunately I was traveling on Monday so I couldn't join on time so I put myself to the waiting list. It was a nice experience for me for the first time with you when I joined Carnity and would like to be on the same trail again with you to feel the difference of my first drive and where I'm now, if you have any plan to extend the convoy again I highly appreciate if you could add me too so I will cancel my fewbie drive happening on same time and join with you on Sunday.   ☺️
