[Need assistance] What offroading vehicle should I consider

Thanks everyone for your valuable insights, looks like my choices are narrowed down to a rubicon / ranger raptor. I have just tested the ranger raptor today and it felt amazing and very comfortable.

Question : I am worried a little bit about the front bumper and the skid plate as they don't look solid enough for the desert stock, can I modify them without voiding Al Tayer warranty? Thanks

That’s what I mentioned in the shared feedback (the link I shared). The only thing to do after you buy one is to get an underbody protection for peace of mind and you definitely need it as this beast will give u the confidence to do things you can’t do in any other vehicle. And no, this doesn’t affect warranty.

Wish you all the best in your choice but at the risk of sounding very biased you can’t compare a Rubicon to a Ranger Raptor. They don’t even play in the same league. Try making an excel and tell me what you come up with :) (I’m genuinely curious). The only thing that the Rubicon does slightly better is Rock crawling…. Test them both out and tell me if there is anything else you were able to find :)

one last piece of advice, if u do another test drive for a Ranger Raptor make sure u drive it in sport mode. That was my on-the-spot selling point when I wasn’t even looking to buying a new car since I already had a “new” car!!

Good luck once again with whatever you decide on!

@Luke K P will still support you on your drives, regardless what vehicle you choose :D

@salahb next thing you need to consider is the length of the car. Trucks are longer so they tend to crest on the dunes a lot more than LWB cars.

don't drive like its your last one.

@Looper

Understood, I'm guessing that's more of a skill thing and learning how to optimize approaching for the car you drive ? Btw, I don't know what I'm talking about so I'm just taking a guess here.

Would that problem be solved with a better approach angle slightly to the right/left (as opposed to a direct climb), also maybe that also can be solved with a lift in the future ( once I learn the basics and whatnot ).

I guess my question is, do I really consider that for picking the vehicle or is that something that can be fixed skill wise (or else).

@Mike M. I definitely test drove the RR in sports mode lolz, that's why I was quite impressed not saying that the wrangler was weak or anything but there was just something that made the difference. I am still planning on doing another test drive on the wrangler before calling it. While I'm at it, I should probably wait for Ramadan offers to get a better bang for the buck.

@salahb That thing that made the difference and you don’t know what to call it is called the RAPTOR effect :)

Best of luck in whatever you decide.

You have narrowed down your search to 2 very capable vehicles and you can’t go wrong from here.
