DRIVE DESCRIPTION

The Al Fayah region opens up with long corridors of rolling dunes, spaced widely enough to build confidence yet tall enough to demand proper momentum and clean cresting. Fewbie drivers will find a satisfying rhythm here: steady climbs, gentle side‑sloping sections, and broad ridgelines that let you practice reading the sand and choosing smooth exit lines. The terrain is mostly soft but predictable, with plenty of opportunities to refine throttle control and maintain pace without overworking the vehicle.

As the route progresses deeper into Al Fayah, the dunes grow sharper and more technical, forming pockets, bowls, and ridges that require deliberate positioning. Drivers will navigate a mix of medium‑height slipfaces and tighter transitions where commitment matters. The landscape rewards those who stay alertp, offering a natural progression from flowing dune travel to more precise, skill‑focused driving. It’s a route that builds capability while still keeping the experience enjoyable and controlled.

DRIVE DETAILS

Level:  Fewbie and above

Meeting time: 07:00 (SHARP - Without any exceptions)

Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 8-10 inches of ground clearance.

What to bring along: Loads of water, snacks (for yourself), smiles, face mask, rubber gloves, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

Approximate finish time: 11:00 am

P.S. Only join if you have a compressor to inflate your tires after the drive.

• This drive is limited to 10 cars only. RSVP will close on Friday- 12:00.
• If the RSVP is full, you can add your name to the waitlist, once someone drops, you will be moved to the RSVP list.
• RSVP will close a day prior to preparing a convoy list.
• Latecomers will be returned back - Without any exceptions.

Good morning Team, im sorry i must sit this one out. Enjoy the drive.

We started the drive right on time at 07:00, entering an area dominated by hard-packed sand. Early into the drive, I experienced two front tyre deflations, highlighting how unforgiving hard surfaces can be at lower pressures. Both were managed without major delay, and the convoy continued smoothly.

The main part of the drive consisted of multiple loops and back-and-forth runs on long-range dunes, allowing the convoy to build rhythm and maintain a steady pace. These sections offered good flow and consistency, with @Diego doing an excellent job as second lead, maintaining spacing and keeping the convoy well aligned through the extended dune runs.

We stopped for a short break, giving everyone time to regroup and check vehicles.

Later in the drive, a tyre pop-out occurred. The situation was handled quickly and efficiently by the support team, with @Imteeaz @Aser and @JC_E stepping in to reseat the bead and get the vehicle moving again with minimal downtime.

A second break was taken at the fox den, providing a relaxed stop before the final leg of the drive.

From there, we transitioned into a more technical dune section, requiring tighter control and careful line selection. @Andrei S and @Bjoern did a solid job keeping a close eye on the convoy and ensuring everyone cleared the technical sections safely.

Once through, we moved back onto long-range dunes and sabkhas, enjoying a fast, flowing run all the way to the exit.

The drive concluded safely with all vehicles exiting without further issues, rounding off a well-balanced session combining long-range cruising, technical challenges, and strong teamwork across the convoy.
