break pads

i have been advised to change the break pads as one of them can still go on for 2 to 3 months do i just change one or both

the car mechanic said both need to be changed what do i do

change both its better to have equal strength while braking. Ask mechanic a reason for uneven wear, and let him check the piston and brake caliper pressure shud be same on both sides for equal wear of brake pad in future. Its a safety issue after all.
