  3. Weather is turning amazing and when hot weather couldn't stop us from burning up the desert, we are not going to let this cooler breeze go to waste. Area 53 is an extension of Bidayer area but with medium - big dunes with sharp rise and fall, at the same time suitable for Newbies to learn and enjoy the medium dune range. Where I would like to have newbies, just in case we have our regular drivers this area is truly perfect for rushing your adrenaline and hone your desert driving controls. This area requires precise control as one moment you climb up with full throttle and second moment you crawl at low rev before hitting the gas again for sideways climbs. This drive is meant for newbie - fewbie level, only if we do not have any newbie drivers the level will be revised to a Fewbie + level. When: 27 October 2017, Friday Meeting time: 2 PM, convoy will move sharp at 2:15 PM Where: Tawi Nizwa shops GPS Coordinate: https://goo.gl/maps/KAZQNHFTjvj Level of drive: Either Newbie or Fewbie + depending on convoy level Type of Car: Any proper 4x4 with front and back tow hooks and 10 inches of ground clearance Plan: Afternoon drive from Tawi Nizwa to Iftar Bowl and enjoy some snacks together. What to bring along: Evening snacks,, whatever you like with little extra to share, water, liquids, smiles, stories, enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Approximate finish time: 7 PM, 27 October 2017, Friday List your name and mobile number in this drive thread and RSVP the below calendar:

  5. Thanks for your advise , I went to Abu Hassan and he is indeed a great guy , was worth the drive to Sharjah , got a replacement control unit for Cayenne Headlights , his mechanic ( denter ) actually rewired the wiring assembly , and replaced the bulbs , saved me about 3000 AED which otherwise would have been needed for new head assembly and a new control unit , highly recommend him!

  7. there is too much heat produced while running these lights that's why the wiring get brittle and the insulation cracks my whole car if selling in scrap will go for 700 and a porsche if fully gone will be sold for 6000 then they have to make money out of it so that's why each and every part will be expensive that's why porsche is a porsche sir jee

  9. I had the similar issue with my 2006 model few years back with side turning beam, tried few attempts and after that changed to used one finally for proper fix. Call Abu Hassan (050 4559177) in Shj, and see if he can source one for you. I remember it cost me 1500 damn aed for used one piece headlight with an explanation that "Sir it's a Porsche".

  13. Gaurav, Will be taking the Ferrari for sure. Maybe also try out the new Jag. Regarding insurance, they said so on their (Autodrome) web site. I only have 3rd party on my cars anyhow. Haven't had any accidents so far... (famous last words )

  14. Hi @Alfie, which car will you be testing? Do you know that most of the insurance doesn't cover motorsport here, and if something happens then you are on your own?

  15. I'll do that too. Haven't seen any coming up lately though. I am in for sure if there is another trip doing a road trip. For me going to the track is a chance to really test out the car in a safe environment.
