Only the switching between 2WD and 4WD is done with vacuum actuators. * On the later Pajero models, all functionality of switching between 4Lo, 4H, 4HLC, or 2WD is done by solenoids, because your 4WD shifter is not a mechically engaging unit. These models are more prone to issues, and the blinking lights really do mean something went wrong.

Considering longevity, I would suggest to go for a paint job especially if you intend to use this vehicle for the next few years. (It shouldnt cost you much if its only the side mirrors) Stickering options wont last and you will have to redo it in couple of months time (50 to 100 aed depending on the quality of the material used and the place)

Means it's not only the water pump and timing belt; then it should be fine. I had the same work done for my Pajero 2012 at start of this year and it costed me almost similar that included Labor along with parts like spark plugs, timing belt, tensioner bearing, crank front seal, water pump, thermostat valve, fan belt, outer belt tensioner, outer belt idler bearing etc. Hope it helps!

Yes and best way is to engage and drive 100 meters, then disengage and drive 100 meters. Do this few times if needed and see if your 4x4 is completely disengaged and vibrations are eliminated. In lever base 4x4, sometimes it gets partially engage or disengage and release after few meters of driving. Reasons could be all of the above that Fred mentioned.

Yes, that is definitely possible and could explain the higher vibration.

Could you go to a small patch of sand and actually try if your car is in 2WD or 4WD ? Just by quickly accelerating you will see if all tyres spin, or only the rear ones. Driving in 4WD on road will give more vibration.

Update Today morning while driving 4X4 central diff lock light was flashing and 2 wheel light was off, so i pulled up and restarted car and it went off But there is steady vibration after 2500 Rpm , or above 95 Kms speed Any suggestion what is causing it ?

Friends, My 2012 Honda Accord's side view mirrors paint got ripped off in last 1 year. It's like the paint is getting torn apart in pieces due to driving air pressure. Any recommendations how to cover it up either with a redo of paint job or the car exterior paper sticker (like carbon black)? I am looking something similar too but I could not find it. I think the only way to have something like that is to find a person who can cut and weld stuff. Since I was able to find something like that I came up with another idea for the flag. I bought a suction cup (attached) and I duck taped my flag to the suction cup. I have not tested it yet but it looks pretty rugged. We will see it on Friday

One GOLDEN tip for any Pajero 4x4 that doesn’t go off-road often: once a week, switch between the 2WD, 4H, 4HLc, and 4Lo setting for while. The solenoids and vacuum actuators tend to seize after a while when not being used regularly.

You could try Satwa and put Chrome instead of a repaint job. A good chrome cover should last you a while. plus give the car a nice look.

@Derick During your visit to the AC technician, You should consider the extra cooling fan as @Fuad was suggesting, I have come across several other Pajero owners mentioning the same. In addition to that, Its proven that normal window tint can provide upto 30-40% of heat rejection, while the premium tint can provide heat rejection upto 70-80%. All the best !!

Hi @Sidshk, what is included in the quote of AED 3500/- (parts & labor)? At times, there are some other items which could you would prefer to change while almost half of your engine is opened; instead of a re-open later with the same expensive labor.

Does the AC light flicker or is steady when you stop cooling? After turning the car off and then on, does it start cooling?

I think Pajeros has some issue with the cooling system. I once put mine (2012 mode) on AUTO AC mode while I was idle/parked. And it stopped cooling the car at all. Mostly, AC guys says less cooling in cabin is either a matter of less gas or blocked AC filter.

Guys count me in as another victim of Pajero's rear view mirror shake on driving side. @edouard your hard way of successfully stopping the rattles is what @Keithryan suggested through arabic video? If its different, please share the details.

The Flashing Light went off and 4X4 display went to normal after re start There is continues vibration above 95 Kms at 2WD as well

Looks like your Central diff is still engaged. That probably causes the vibration while driving it on road (not advisable !). How does the car drive in 2WD ?

A friend of mine found it beneficial to have the comprehensive test. In his case he made a verbal agreement with the seller that if any serious fault is identified in the test he will not buy the car and the seller will refund the AED 350. This worked in two cases where faults were identified but in one of these the seller refused to accept that his car has had an accident and left without reimbursing my friend. Finally Carswitch listed my car on 20th Aug 2019 for 89,000 Dhs, but with a with a wrong title. Sent a mail to correct the title but no one replied till 8 days. (yeah, lost 8 days). Copy to various other email as well and title got changed, but now with another mistake. After couple of more emails, finally correct title has been displayed with little restriction. WRONG TITLE CORRECT TITLE AFTER 8 DAYS Here are my reasons for calling Carswitch.com totally disappointing for car sellers: FIRST If they are car experts, then how can they mess up between names/editions that come with a price difference of 100K when new? Totally Disappointing. FOURTH On the day I listed my car with Carswitch, the back-end was showing instant cash offer of 65,000 dhs. After two weeks I reduced to 85,000 to be in line with other used car sites then backend started showing me 56,000 dhs. So that means their instant cash offer is automatically synced with whatever you ask. They will slash 24-29K of your listing price without using any common sense or logic of car depreciation. So this is basically Sellanycar, Sellcargetcash cloned site but in disguise. Totally Disappointing. FIFTH All Google and network adverts they were running were using a wrong title (Vogue instead of Vogue Supercharged) and/or displaying my car with wrong league of competition. Wasting their own money with lack of intelligence or car details. Why would anyone click on a 85K car if a 67K is there but it's a Sport instead of a Vogue Supercharged ? Totally different animal and year. Good idea of fetching customers through Google ads, but applied ineffectively. SIXTH If they are charging 2600dhs commission to run Google ads, then we can also do this by ourselves and get buyers, and only show one car to increase the chances than 3 in a carousel. Probably we will get good potential buyers in 1000dhs ad-spend if you know how to target Facebook and Google advertising with YouTube tutorial in less than an hour and keep on tweaking ad daily. Again its advertised with wrong title in many places. Being a Vogue, it's overpriced. Being a Vogue Supercharged, very well priced. SEVENTH Few places ads were running without a title even, and when anyone click on the page it goes nowhere. That's how it took me 8 days to change to correct title to: Range Rover Vogue Supercharged. Hope this review helps you to save some money and time in false expectations of fetching you the best value - false advertising, when from day 1 till day 25 they were pestering me to reduce price several times and brainwashing me by showing low price cars. If you don't know the real value of your car, spec, age and km, you might fall in this trap and sell it for low. Finally I sold my "Range Rover Vogue Supercharged for 83,000 AED on 18 Sep 2019. I had two close offers, one was 82K with a bank loan from Carnity advert and 83K cash buyer from Dubizzle.

@Boney John welcome to Carnity Off road club. This is just an introduction drive to the sands. A completely stock Pajero is more than capable to handle the toughest offroad terrain. You're most welcome to join. That being said, just do yourself a huge favour. Remove the rear silver piece in the rear bumper, I think it's held by 4 nuts which can be easily removed. These tend to scoop sand and get bent on the normal drives. Looking forward to catching you on the sand this Friday.

Usually replacements of belts, bearings, spark plugs, seals, all oils etc. are termed as major services of the vehicle and are mostly done together to save on labor cost.

Actually it depends on what parts are being replaced. The labor cost is typically around 1000 for a workshop in Ajman. If you need to replace any other part the cost can go up or down

How do you expect me to step out in traffic to throw bucket of water? Only in stop and go traffic it drops the cooling little and become fine when moving or sitting idle in a breathable space like parking, road side, red light etc.

Good topic @eduardo. One more thing that I do before driving away is to lift the wipers and get out the sand that collects on them. If you need to use the wiper on your drive back, you don't want the sand there scratching your windshield.

@Gaurav @Rahimdad my experience as an offroader in the desert for long drives and dune bashing is something new to me but i have an off-road experience in a different way and different country and it’s totally different i think u can understand what I mean, whats new to me is the things that can pass by the experienced people like you @Gaurav and @Rahimdad such as where is the best place to get the tools, the 3 times recovery horn and these kind of stuff but in terms of driving am sure my background is quite helpful and my experience in other driving styles will back me up big time thats why I suggested a test so you can highlight the most important parts in levels (newbie fewbie etc..) and evaluate my skills based on my results and how I handled the situation, and to be honest am with @desertdude on the fun aspect I joined to have fun and get my adrenaline pumped up, i do appreciate the system and as i said earlier I absolutely totally understand how and why this structure is important, Nonetheless you guys are amazing and very kind and thoughtful and thank you for your leadership, patience and for sharing your expertise and for sure your grading system just to keep everyones safe

Every offroad convoy has to follow these rules to keep moving the whole convoy safely at all times: Follow the car in front of you all the time. And also follow the path taken by that car (STRICTLY), until you learn to lead. As an occasional exception, if you see the car in front of you struggled or churn up the path, it is advisable to drive little left or right and then follow the same path again. Keep 5-10 cars distance all the time. Keeping it too close you will risk an accident and keeping it too long, you will lose the path. If you cannot see the car behind you, please stop and notify on the radio so that the leader can stop until they all catch up. Stick to your convoy numbering at all times, if changed due to some situation fall back to the same order as soon as you can but safely. If convoy is not moving due to some stuck / refusal, please be patient and stay safe at your designated position. No playing, side sloping or any breaking the convoy activities will not be tolerated. Radio communication is PRIME, listen and respond to it promptly all the time. Convoy positions Leader: The first car who leads the drive and everyone has to follow the leader instructions precisely with respect. Second lead: The second car in a convoy, who drives behind the leader and avoid or fix any unforeseen situation as it may happen. Everyone in the convoy needs to follow the "second lead" path like a magnet - at all times. Sweep: One or two cars at end of the convoy to help and recover stuck vehicles or advise the correct path after the refusal. Flying Sweep: This car can be anywhere to do the sweep duties of recovering stuck vehicle or coordinating the convoy movement.

ok guys, update, be careful when pulling out the window and trying it. You can actually pull the motor and break it. I found out the hard way. Good thing is that I have no rattles whatsoever now !!
