We have been using and recommending securing the tow rope for harder tug always, recently I got to experience its real importance. In Liwa across soft sand patch, when we have to pull a dead car, where we have to have a slightly higher rolling momentum to release the car from soft sand and yet continue rolling. During that time, the stock tow point failed and the safety rope absorbed the potential trajectory and hit the tow point back into the sand. No damage was caused to Raptor (towing vehicle) or any human around. Here are the pics of the climber shackle rated for 200 kg and the safety rope rated for 500 kg. The plan is to have a sunset FB+ level drive covering Lisaili, Murqab and Qudra for around 3 hours in total from 4- 7 PM. Post 7PM, we find a nice spot very close to exit point and have a campfire & enjoy the weather. It is optional to stay back for campfire part. As we would finish the drive very close to a exit track, drive members are free to leave anytime after 7pm. We can wrap up the camp fire around 10-11 PM. Thing’s to keep: camp chair, 1 pack of wood per driver, snacks for yourself.2 points

When i'm the inspiration (hope that's the case ) i should at least be on the drive - how about you waving your magic wand and handing me a wild card entry @Hisham Masaad, even a back door entry would do - your choice Keeping my fingers crossed.1 point

@Hisham Masaad thanks Hisham and Ranjan for coming up with this drive. Last time we were there, we were tackling the dunes right from get-go, until of course Ranjan's car decided otherwise. The mighty raptor then had to pull the Jeep across the dunes for 1-2 hours - what an experience. Looking forward to this redemption drive. Cheers1 point

Absolute amazing drive @Vanessa8580 every dune I crossed got me closer to believing I was on Tatooine 😁 and you did a great job leading us into Liwa and out no matter what the scenario @Brette did an amazing job in second lead no matter the difficulty of the landscape @Srikumar and @Varun Mehndiratta who didn’t back down when it came to helping a hand We had a great support team that lended a hand around every corner we took. Especially the camp fire at the end of the day which reminded me of the times in beavers/the small time I had in Scouts.1 point

What an amazing weekend we had in Liwa !! First of all I want to thank my wonderful husband @Frederic to stay home with the kiddos and giving me the opportunity to lead my first Liwa crossing. On the way to Liwa I had some difficulties with my alternator and I really feared that I wouldn't be able to lead but with the help of @Srikumar, @Gaurav Soni and 2 wonderful mecanics in Liwa town who were able to temporarily fix it, I made it to the meeting point ! My whole fewbie convoy did really great and we were able to make it to waypoint 18 on time and without too much struggles. Also the second day went quite smoothly with only a few refusals, one winch recovery and a pop out fix. I want to thank everyone who joined and also congratulate you for successfully completing the Liwa crossing ! See you next time1 point
