  1. Ajban is definitely an interesting area. Nestled inbetween Faqa and Nahel, this area is usually not that frequented a lot by other clubs, but we did found some cross-tracks on the larger dunes. With a sizeable convoy, we first started into the technical area but as i realized there was a bit too much vegetation, i decided to start heading south towards the bigger dunes. Thanks to the fantastic support of @Imteeaz and @Luke K P, and fantastic sweep and second lead duties of @Andrei S and @Andrew John Melvill, we had a convoy that stuck together and worked together all morning. What else could i have wished for! The bigger dunes brought some challenges along the way, and the sand was still really soft in some areas, which made climbing the bowls fun and allowed us to let the cars growl a bit @INSTINCT going through his very first drive in the sand, hats off for keeping a cool head at all times ! You did great today! Same goes for the rest of the newbies who proved that amongst the more senior guys they could stand their ground Thank you all for joining. Onto many more adventures to come !

  2. What a great Sunday morning. Everyone drive really well, definately some big terrain for a newbie drive! We experienced a couple of stucks and refusals along the way but push all the way from Al Ajban to nahel! Was great to have a nice break in the middle to enjoy the weather together. There was a couple of failed air compressor at the inflation point... So have a read though this before making making a purchase. @Vijaya Kumar Doppa I used the bushman for a long time before switching to onboard air, and it's still going strong today as you saw! We covered around 26 km in 4 hours! See you in the sand again sometime soon PS, you can add any images you took to the drive gallery here: https://carnity.com/gallery/category/2172-newbie-al-ajban-abu-dhabi-08-dec-2024/

  4. @Looper thanks for today and hopefully it turns out to be something minor. Sri and Ale had you in the drive in sprit all along the drive as “This is what Looper would have done and planned :)” @Ale Vallecchi thanks again for a perfect drive, end-to-end. While unplanned and not so familiar territory, it was still flawless in every aspect! @Srikumar thanks for keeping a watchful eye on us today. Didn’t get a chance to tell you at the end but I got cartoonish thoughts during the drive. I would see you on top of the dune on my left while passing and then I would see you again on the top of the dune infront of me on my right. There was a cartoon called “Droopy” that was known for this if you know him Not sure how you were jumping from one dune to another but thanks nevertheless! Great driving from everyone in the convoy and thanks again @Looper@Ale Vallecchi@Srikumar

  13. Dear Desert Drivers, thank you for joining me today. We had high level and great skills in the group, so we were able to make it an exciting drive for everyone ! Part 1 with these long ridges and beautiful views of the desert in the morning light was just amazing. We were able to keep a nice rolling flow. @Zulfikhar Naiyar, unfortunately, you missed the rest, but it was a wise decision to exit with your engine overheating. Part 2 was the real challenge of the day. Playing to climb that big slope was fun, but the real difficulties were inside the high dunes, with these maze of small bowls and pockets. Congratulations to the big cars drivers @Hani crest king @Mike M. @azad who were able to go through. Part 3 was a mix of technical and medium size dunes, with a lot of bushes. Still the crossings were challenging, and @azad bumpers kept scars. Finally we had a last stretch of easy rolling dunes to end up smoothly. Well done everyone, especially the 1st or 2nd FB+ drivers @Giacomo and @Hani crest king. @Mahmut @Mike M. @Zulfikhar Naiyar @azad @Gautam Banka thank you for joining, and being focused during the drive. @Nizar Shawwa thank you for the 2nd lead, adjusting my lines when required, @Aser thank you for watching the back of the convoy. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, and see you next year !

  16. Dear @Frederic unfortunately we discovered an oil leak this evening and the car is not drivable - it’s now getting fixed. I therefore won’t be able to join tomorrow morning - so gutted. 😥 Wishing you all a fun and safe drive and hope to see you at the next Newbie drive soon!
