  2. What a great return to form, @DP1011! Yesterday’s drive was great fun. We started off nice and early and got straight into Nahel’s medium to taller sized dunes while the air was still cool. We found some good lines to sweep through the taller dunes, and some easy ridges to push through. We gave ourselves the chance to practice a few times on a nice long ridge section in the early part of the drive, and we found a nice bowl section which gave everyone a chance to practice managing their energy…and some great photos from @Marek! The back end of the drive was a chance for our newest support team member @Andrew John Melvill to shine, putting @Wayne Momsen back enroute again. As DP mentioned, great teamwork from everyone in keeping it together during the long recovery. Well done.

  4. @Luke K P, some great learnings from that clip. Needed to stabilize the car on the ridge, transfer the weight over to the slip face. Only then turn down onto the slip face to complete the maneuver. @Herman G great observations from your side on what he did wrong. I have tried to explain how the maneuver should have been carried out.

  5. Turned so sharp the forward motion was changed to sideways (centrifugal) force very sudden, and as the front wheels had no more traction they couldn’t ‘pull’ the car forward anymore so it quickly lost even more forward speed. Sharp ridge meant quick build-up of resistance digging the side in, not just the back wheels.

  6. the right place and the right time! + not that many marshals allow for this kind of "one by one" drive by exercise. @Yurybel, something for you: I somehow missed all the "passby's" of guys in the front of the convoy, so @Krinesh just one for you: @Sam Selim more in the gallery: And thanks @DP1011 for these!

  8. Hello and Welcome again . This time we will Sheft from the dark to explore along the beautiful sunrise one of the most iconic areas, at least to me, which became with time a legendary area carrying lots of stories among all off-roaders . The grid around fossil rock half of it became Maleha park ( preserved and fenced ) and the other half toward mahafez completely replaced by natural greenery except from sandy farm tracks ) . Nevertheless a relatively not small area around al faya big dune still hold its red particles and becoming to what I call it “ legend land “ join me in the quest bowling , climbing, roll costering and crossing back and forth to reprint our track and say we are back . 12. @Luke K P I just recently found this topic, really good one to read up on! @Andrew John Melvill These ridges are a bit above my level still, but if I understand you well it is critical when going up to first have the ridge lined up with the centerline of the car, two wheels on each side, before going down the other side

  16. Hey @Davie Smooth_Operator - just wanted to send a belated thanks to you and everyone who joined us. We started off in the daylight with some easy lines through Fayah’s small to medium height dunes, giving everyone a chance to get warmed up and practice on the moderately technical terrain. It was also fun to catch a few sideys and some flat ridges. A stop at the fox holes was great for some social time and photos for everyone, and then preparation for driving in the dark. With the sun soon down, we trailed through some slightly larger and more technical dunes which gave everyone a chance to stretch further the skills from earlier in the day. A few refusals and stucks, all handled really well and plenty to learn from. A great day out and my passenger enjoyed it too!

  17. Today’s drive was full of laughs even before the briefing started, we were already cracking up! And the break time? Same story 😂. Honestly, the best kind of refresher from the daily grind. One horsepower for each flag still running around in my mind 😂. @Aringga you drove very well for the second Nb drive. Soon you will find the click with your dark pink Jeep 😅. Thanks everyone, see you soon on the next drive.
