  1. Today is a sad day and a happy one at the same time, the Jeep is SOLD! My beloved Red Rubicon who has been a steadfast companion over four unforgettable years. Together, we conquered 184 thrilling drives with Carnity, beginning with a masterclass led by none other than the legend himself, @Frederic. To leading 74 adventures across the sands as a trip lead, this remarkable machine was more than just a vehicle, it was a partner in every challenge, and every triumph. Crowning it all, a desert championship trophy stands as a testament to the journeys we shared and the milestones we achieved. I am and will be forever grateful for the memories, the lessons, and the legacy we built together. Sad because this is the end of an Era for me personally, as i can no longer lead or indeed drive in the desert and specifically for the club that has been my home for 4 years of off roading @Carnity. Happy because my wonderful companion will still be seen in the desert, it will still be seen at Carnity, and it will assist another newbie to hopefully follow in my footsteps, (and i believe they have already signed up for membership). I really do hope that the new owner gets as much pleasure as i had from the car and i also hope that they do not get the same scares ( @Gaurav you will know what i mean, and anyone else who was on the particular Fb drive i am referring to ) that i also had, although that does make you realize the resilience of the Jeep. I want to extend my deepest thanks to every single member of Carnity that I have had the privilege to drive with as well as the absolute honor to lead over the past few years. The spirit of this club, the camaraderie, coupled with the eagerness to learn have been nothing short of inspiring. I would not trade this experience for anything… except maybe to have started it many years earlier! Thank you all for making this journey truly life changing and unforgettable. Your support and patience as I learned to navigate the sands, assist Carnity's exceptional leads, and eventually step into a lead role myself helping others begin their own desert adventures has meant the world to me. What a journey it’s been. From a humbled student to supporter to leader, every step shaped by the incredible people in this amazing club. As for the club and the trip leads (to many to mention but i will call out @Gaurav, @Frederic and @Srikumar) as you guys have supported me and nurtured me and been the most patient of Owners/Crew that anyone could have wished for. The Club also has many other leads who have helped me become what i hope what an inspiration to others to move along this same path. Bottom line is that Carnity is exceptional in all aspects of what it sets out to achieve, moreover, it fits nicely into my mindset of a structured process driven approach to off roading that nurtures a remarkable safety culture that is outstanding and a pleasure to be a part of. Thank you to all the Carnity Trip leads both experienced and up and coming you all make the club what it is. Nothing else to say really except i will miss you all and i hope that if i am ever in Dubai i may get a hired Jeep and may if allowed join a drive as a flying sweep Heres hoping See you all somewhere someday

  5. Oh @Davie Smooth_Operator Davie... As much as i am happy to see Red Ruby found a new pilot @Pavito Al, we are all sad that you are leaving and hanging your desert hat on the hook (as we say in belgium). I fondly remember that first MC, where immediately i noticed your hunger for understanding all concepts around off-roading; not just becoming a very skilled driver, but embracing the entire concept of finding peace and solitude from surfing on some of the most beautiful dunes this country has to offer, and using your extensive leadership qualities to mentor and teach others along the way. We did one more MC a bit later, and it was already quite impossible to get you stuck anywhere. We just drove to the Chimney and back and you just grinned and asked for more 😁 Your first club drive came shortly after under the capable mentorship of @Islam Soliman in May2021: As you went along, the qualities you possess quickly came to the surface, and very soon we all felt we had a new up-and-coming star in our firmament to add to our existing Rockstar Carnity Marshals and Supporters. Bagging the Carnity DCT trophy was indeed another fantastic achievement that showed you were a force to reckon with: Not just by yourself but as a full team. We should have called you "Hayabusa Davie" like the peregrine Falcon (or the bike of course) Alas, unfortunately, nothing in life lasts, and just like when we said goodbye to Islam or Emmanuel, we know and understand that there will be a time that either you or us will be sitting somewhere one day, watching the sunset and fondly remember that all of us are connected through the soil, sand, or trees, wherever we are. Dubai has been good for you, but if you are in Spain or wherever you will land, it will be the same sunset that we will both be watching! Godspeed my friend. May we have many more blessed years watching the stars and dipping our feet in sands...

  6. Dear All, As this event is inching closer, a lot of updates have been sent out by the organization, so i will be preparing a separate Whatsapp group where all Carnity attendees will be added. This will make communication easier with quick regular updates, or if you happen to need any of us, we are only a ping away.

  10. Indeed an amazing journey @Davie Smooth_Operator I am sure you are carrying along loads of memories from your time flying across the UAE dunes and leaving your marks everywhere. If my memory serves me well I think you are one of the few Carnity members I drove the most with and I personally enjoyed always having you on my convoys but unfortunately didn’t have plenty of time later on to enjoy being in yours. Happy that the red legend found its new partner and I am sure he will enjoy it for years to come and build as much memories as she had with you. All the best buddy in your journey and hopefully we get to meet sometime soon on the sand.

  12. Dear Desertnauts. Quick briefing about tomorrow's drive. The goal is to drive for 4 hours and 21 minutes, from Khatim dunes north-eastward toward Sweihan. We 'll do our best to drive fast, with little detours, with the objective to cover as much distance as possible. Preparatory for overlanding, or any other long-range drive, we'll look to flow smoothly and with as few interruptions as possible. The convoy order will be the following: @Sam Selim in Secobd Lead @Wayne Momsen at #3 @Krinesh at #4 @ChrisW at Center @Giacomo at #6 @Glenn W at #7 and @J-P L in Sweep. See you all tomorrow morning.

  21. Hi @Diego per vehicle. It would be great if you bring the family with you but i would recommend them to join in your car, as i cannot guarantee there will be much shade there, unless you bring a small cover or tent with you. In any case both the FB and NB drive will be very very similar, nothing crazy fast or daring. We just want to spend 2hrs in the sand together and be back on time to head back to Dubai.
